Not really. Computers do that. You mostly need to figure out how to categorize transactions and organize reports in the best way that the business gets the most use out of it. That requires a bit of thought if you want to make it ideal. But in my job I have quite a bit of data entry to do as well, and that does not require much thought at all. I'm interested to see how AI affects the accounting industry in the future. I don't think I'll complain too much if it eliminates a lot of data entry.

Then I got a masters in accounting and it wasn't that straining mentally but it sure was a lot of work. I started studying for the CPA afterward, and that is a monstrous task. Very difficult mentally and a lot of work as well. I do not know if I'll ever be able to pass that thing. Still haven't studied enough to feel qualified to attempt it yet.

Why can't accouting teachers make it this simple? I guess it's true when they say acct 2301 and 2302 are meant as weed out courses.
