It's approaching midnight near the end of a long day, and I just successfully updated the BIOS on my Gigabyte motherboard thanks to your instructions. You all are awesome.
You are amazing! Thank you so much for making this video! You can't believe how much this helps. Gigabyte really needs to have clearer instructions on how to do this on their website.
I looked up a video just like this to update my X570 bios when I bought my new processor last year. This was a much better, cleaner, how to Video, Thanks. 👍
This is great but resetting to defaults will turn off any XMP profiles(if applicable) for your ram’s max speed. Make sure you reenable your XMP profile in Bios if you do load defaults to get full use of your ram’s speed
Holy heck thank you SO much!! The idea of updating my bios has been so scary given I don't want to mess anything up and ruin my system. You made it so clear and easy, VERY much appreciated ♥
I'm running into the same problem, but i want to update the bios without a flash drive and it's proving to be a hassle because the manufacturer's App Center isnt working properly. Pesky pc tech always evolving...
What a nice lady. She must know Gigabyte's App Central software is useless, whether you're trying to update the BIOS from server or file. This worked like a charm, thanks
Thorough and helpful. Your video filled in a crucial detail I had not yet found. Additional tip: make the partition scheme of your flash drive MBR, rather than GPT.
Really? I'm tempted to upgrade mine. Haven't any issues but I've checked my specific model and there have been a lot of updates since I last got my PC. @@temporaltribe
So glad this video was easy and straight forward. Needed to update my B550 to accept the 5000 series Ryzen CPU seeing I don't have a disc drive for the disc that came with the motherboard.
Thanks for the video! I’m always weary of updating the BIOS and Gigabyte’s support pages didn’t make it any easier. I also realised for the update to read the file, I needed to plug my USB drive into the “BIOS USB” port on the back of the motherboard as no other ports would work. But I probably should’ve worked that out way earlier lol.
What if we don't have BIOS USB port? I'm stuck on this step as my drive is not getting listed in the dropdown in the Q-Flash. EDIT:- I came across another comment by @Anthony Szabo that the flash drive should be of fat32/16 file system. Mine was NTFS. Once I updated my drive file system to fat32, it worked. You can easily find a guide to update the file system.
Be worried , after installing update my bios crashed and pc won’t start. I advise to double check and not make my mistakes , update ran but wasn’t compatible and now my pc on maintenance
Thank you for sharing this information. I just followed your steps and updated my BIOS that was outdated by a few years. I was a little nervous about messing something up but i took it slow. Tip: Make sure your Flash Drive is FAT32/16 file system. It's required by Gigabyte otherwise it won't read it when trying to update the BIOS.
If anyone's having problems updating from an older BIOS version to a more current one try first updating to version f-32 before downloading the other updates (for people struggling with the wrong bios image error)
Thank you so much. Very clear and informative instructions. First vod of yours I've watched but going to sub and see what else you can teach me before my next build!!! Muchos gracias!!!
I couldn't understand what your saying when restarting the computer sounds like your saying smash the dell button to get to the bios loading screen.. I don't have a dell button, if I hit delete it will take me to the regular bios..
Nice Video !! But you dont need all the 4 files, just the bios file, in this case the .33j file. Also there other ways to update the bios like the q-flash plus and @bios that you dont mention.
@@drumnbassdan I went from F32 to F36. I'm not sure if you need to start from F2, try reading up on forums about that because I'm not sure how to help you more ;(
Just updated my bios after getting my first pc cause I kept getting blue screen and most vids were saying it can be from outdated bios. Sooooo hopefully it works now. I was stressing when updating it tho
Mine Just start to restart and even did,t goto the bios 😢 can you help i tried everything removed the bettery with a screwdriver touched the cmos and nothing also put 1 ram to check the ram nothing.... 😢
I have one question, can I download the files on a different computer and update the bios before installing windows? Or do I need to install windows first because I have a Ryzen 5000 series processor.
I'm facing unexpected issue. Would appreciate the help. While my window 7 is booting, if i press any keyboard key, the boot is getting stuck and because of that, im not able to get in bios or boot menu. Gigabyte H55M-S2 MoBo. Award Bios. Any idea for that???
Hi I've been trying to update my z490 master but I keep getting an oelmd error and the gigabyte utility keeps failing, any ideas? I've checked that there is only one rev. And it's the aorus board
I have a Z370 AORUS gaming 7 motherboard. Suddenly the USB ports stopped working, first time I got around it reinstalling Windows, but it happened again and idk what to do, I’ve tried everything. Now that I’m updating the BIOS to see if that can fix it, it shows a message: Invalid BIOS Image even though I downloaded from the Gigabyte website :(
One big thing to note, that took me a while to find. Depending on the bios version you have it may only recognize the update if the flash drive is formatted as fat32. Some later versions support ntsf. I spent more then an hour to find that out.

Straight to the point, and simple explanation. Thank you
Video actually starts at 1:15, not really straight to the point at all.

This is really helpful. I found your tutorial more relevant and up-to-date than the gigabyte how to. Thank you very much.
The gigabyte how to reads like its out of 2003 lol
3y later & still helping. Just bought my pc yesterday & had to do my first ever bios update, tysm
I've built/upgraded a dozen computers in the last 15 years, and somehow I've never had to upgrade the BIOS before. Thanks for the video!
Yeah its only really when you get the newer CPUs does it become an essential step. Other than that the BIOs versions beforehand didnt effect much
