Can we get some backside PCB tests with a couple Ryzen 5000 series processors? Seems as the original version gets high VRM temps with a 3950x and I wonder if that still persists with the V2 model.
This is my first ever build, and my first ever time with a new motherboard. Just to be clear: the most recent BIOS is the better choice than the one listed for the CPU?
Is there any motherboard for AMD Ryzen CPU's that supports 4 M.2 SSD? I see that this MB supports 2 M.2 SSD's, but I wonder, is there a board that has a place for 4 M.2 SSD's?

Hi Mike thanks for the video. Sadly even after the update my build is not running. After I power on, the PSU fastly clicks 9 times and that's it. Nothing on the screen, no signs of life. Just funs spinning. The CPU is in the list of the supported ones, I tried everything, iteratively changing ram disconnecting the GPU, removing the hard drive, resetting CMOS and the latest try was the update. Every component is brand new and compatible with the motherboard. Have you ever experienced something like this? Could it be the motherboard is shorted somehow?

would the 1.3 rev support all cpus straight out of the box? when i checked to see what version I needed, it shows that all cpus require version FB. Version FB is the first release, so would i need to follow the steps in this video or would my cpu work if i just installed it without flashing the BIOS?
it will support all the cpus at that time, so newer ones might not be covered out of the box, but flashing is easy and gives performance and security updates
This is my current exact issue and identical components. I followed this procedure precisely, flashed my bios exactly as described in this video, and everything went to plan. Then I stuck the cpu back in and booted it up, but there's still no display. Something changed though. Now when the pc boots, after about 10 seconds it switches itself off, then after a other 5 seconds it switches itself back on, still no display, only now the power off button doesn't work, pressed or held. Any advice?

I tried to just put the CPU, RAM and GPU on, and surprise, it already had the right BIOS version (The one that supports Ryzen 5600 which is very new). I've just had a horror weekend with my first build- a mix of naivety, ignorance and bad luck lol...Bought a MSI Pro B660M-G DDR4 and at the CPU stage of the buy opted for the better i3-13100F as it was only a tenner more than the 12100F...big big mistake it's turned out, yes it has LGA1700 but the BIOS is not able to detect the 13th gen, there's no USB Q-flash function so only way would be borrow(buy from CeX and return after use?!) a 12th Gen CPU to be able to update it...long story short I'm sending the board back and have bought a Z760 (arriving tomorrow), but as it's been out only since this year started is it worth updating the bios? there's only one minor looking update ?? This 760 at least has the Q-Flash Plus...live and learn I won't make that mistake again!!

1. I did this because my pc stopped powering on after I turned on secure boot and disabled CSM, but I was doing it with my friend telling me what to do and I think a mistake was made. The flash drive was formatted as exFat because it is a 64gb flash drive and it was maybe too big, so when I hit the q flash button it flashed and then went a solid colour before turning off. Does this mean that the motherboard is bricked or could it be solved by trying again with a correctly formatted flash drive? Because pressing the q flash button afterwards (with the same flash drive but just re-downloaded the bios update file) didn’t result in any lights. 2. For future reference, if I already had windows installed and everything up and running, to update my bios could I just click on the windows auto exec file and it would finish pretty much without any interference from me?
sounds like you needed to reset the CMOS to the factory defaults rather than flash it. Secure and UEFI are the default setting for modern BIOS so you would still be in the same position if your hardware won't support uefi
@@mikesunboxingI looked up resetting the cmos and the tutorials were taking out the motherboard’s battery, which was one of the things I tried. Hi Mike thanks for the video. Sadly even after the update my build is not running. After I power on, the PSU fastly clicks 9 times and that's it. Nothing on the screen, no signs of life. Just funs spinning. The CPU is in the list of the supported ones, I tried everything, iteratively changing ram disconnecting the GPU, removing the hard drive, resetting CMOS and the latest try was the update. would the 1.3 rev support all cpus straight out of the box? when i checked to see what version I needed, it shows that all cpus require version FB.
I have the same motherboard (rev 1.3) and I tried to Q flash it, it wouldn't turn on, neither the fans on the PSU nor the red blinking red.
I tried to just put the CPU, RAM and GPU on, and surprise, it already had the right BIOS version (The one that supports Ryzen 5600 which is very new). So if you have a rev 1.3 motherboard, odds are, it's already flashed to support by default boards release before 14 november 2022 (also rev 1.3 has only two BIOS versions FB and FC, and they're on a a different page from the other revs)

@@mikesunboxing thank you very much for your reply. I tried shorting the power pins on the mobo, but it still wont turn on after assembling the CPU and RAM only. Hey , can you please tell me what will happen of the flash the bios like this with CPU installed ? Will it work?
yes it should be fine
This 760 at least has the Q-Flash Plus...live and learn I won't make that mistake again!!
the new board should be pretty up to date, but there is a security patch in the newer bios i believe so worth doing at some point if not straight away
@@mikesunboxing My apologies it's not a z760 it's a Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 (Rev 1.0)... There's one BIOS update from 9 days ago but all I can see in it on the Gigabyte page is:
1/Checksum : 87B6
2/Address blank display while system powers up with RTX3060 series graphics cards
3/Add GIGABYTE PerfDrive support
2. deffo won't apply as I'm not going beyond 1660 Super, but do the others mean much? I looked into the files as far as I could but nothing jumped out at me?

It didn’t work though I did try it after attempting to flash the bios.
Idk what else to do so I’ve just exchanged the motherboard for a new one and will not mess with bios until everything is up and running just to split up the process to make it more digestible
