Great lesson for new photographers. I would recommend shooting the boring, or the obvious shot if you are a beginner. Then work the subject from using "Rule of Thirds", Different heights, and so on to exhaust that subject. No one and done photographing. This will teach you not to become a lazy photographer. Also, a better understanding of composition by comparing your own photos from boring to a wow I took that. Thanks Mark
A good demo, Mark. New photographers, and those who never learned that unusual shots like this can be very interesting, should try this. Close-ups at unusual angles frequently brings beauty out of otherwise ugly or mundane things. I do a bit of high magnification (macro) photography for the same reason, taking the close-up idea even closer. I use a stand similar to that of an old film enlarger to hold the camera, usually pointed straight down and with lens extenders in place. The results are sometimes amazing. Thanks for all your great demos. You frequently provide unique ideas for things that I'm already doing. Always a new or different way to try.
Good tips. Also worth noting that you don’t have to worry about getting someone’s head completely in the frame, those photos of the girls looked better for it. Always good to be reminded to compose creatively.

Excellent beginner tips Mark! Great way to think about this stuff and making "boring" subjects less boring and better.
Good video, Mark.
I was waiting for you to photograph the cactus. LOL!
hahaha. I should have!
Ha! With the winter rains those saguaros are looking a bit voluptuous, aren't they?
I was waiting for the cactus shot too. Probably cause that's the first thing I would of gone for
