This is exactly why I chose to start shooting film this year. I was, and am, obsessed with getting a technically perfect photo but do not give it the thought it deserves when composing it or even choosing whether or not to shoot it. I just went on a hike for about 3 hours the other day and took over 250 pictures with my digital camera. In the end I kept maybe 20 of them. If I had been shooting film I probably would have only shot 12 and enjoyed the experience more so.
Makes both of us. With film I tend to be conservative with my photography. Whereas with digital, I tend to be liberal with only so many keepers; the rest are deleted.
Ah Huntington Beach! I live so close and forget how nice it is to just go and take photos. Film photography has those imperfections that make it unique. It’s got a look digital can’t replicate. What an interesting lens and camera! Hope to try shooting on a hasselblad someday!
Hopefully, you get the chance to shoot a hasselblad. In some ways they are a weird camera. Especially, if you are using these older lenses on them. I have to admit I feel like I photograph at the beach to often. But, it's close and there's almost always something interesting going on. Thanks for the reply!
