- As one of the greatest heroes in protoss history, Fenix’s deeds on the battlefield are legendary. After falling to the zerg during the invasion of Aiur, his body was recovered and implanted into a dragoon so he could continue to fight. Not even death can stop Fenix from achieving glory and valor. I thought the original Starcraft was supposed to be a W40k game, but then Games Workshop backed out at the last second and Blizzard just changed up plenty of things so they could still release the game? So it is less of a rip off and more of a salvage operation.

Starcraft dragoons/immortals/stalkers don't get enough love. I read Warhammer40k stories about dreadnaughts and they're almost always very good.

I hope there's an interaction with Fenix and Sgt. Hammer where they yell at each other for blocking the spawn ramp, neither of them accepting blame or moving.

i think li ming suppose have more dmg in her laser (cause it have range and she's burst assassin) but phoenix clearly beat her in range)

that would be a pretty cool feature though if the beams actually pushed on each other creating a massive constant aoe that did dmg to both teams where the collide. On second thought blizzard should rip off Magicka and use that system for a hero...

When Kerrigan killed Fenix in Broodwar it was the saddest cutscene ever. Raynor promised he would hunt Kerrigan down, no matter what.

Yes he did, he killed the evil kerrigan bringing back the good one. Much better
and then kerrigan lived, took control of the zerg again, and fenix came back to life as a purifier, and died about 20 more times, but that doesnt matter because his ai can transfer into new robot shells. its one of the benefits of having a mind composed of pure data.

Similarities : 1.Trades life for damage.

1 oh so a regenerating shield is consider as health now. Why didny my zul's health regenerates with lifesteal?
2 diff in purpose. Zul's one is circular cuz it needs u to hit it precisely with the crossing point. Fenix's one is circular cuz it wants you to keep the distance and sustaining dmg.
3 80% of basic attackers have so, or else why are they even using basic attack.

He was one of the first heroes to come out with the game so I'd say back then they were more restricted with game mechanics

I don't know if the D.va Goliath skins will necessarily block a Goliath hero. It just depends on whether or not they can find a kit that works. We have a Gul'dan skin for Azmodan, but still got Gul'dan later on. And I don't doubt that Blizzard will eventually give us a Blood Elf Spellbreaker hero, too, despite Johanna having such a skin.
also lunara has a warden skin and we still got maiev
J040PL7 honestly warden skin on a dryad doesnt do much, people were negating maiev because zeratul got her kit
The problem I have with a lot of them is that they're SC2 versions of those characters or were redesigned in SC2's art style (like Fenix was.)
I hope to see SC1/BW era skins for a lot of the heroes who have been around since the beginning.
Whoever runs this channel is doing an incredible job. I'm realizing that I really need to step up my play and make sure I understand all the underlying dynamics of the heroes I use in HotS.

Yeah that is what I was thinking is like is this a dragoon or a stalker it seems like a hybrid of the two which is kinda cool

At least that's what it became in SC2 and that's bullshit. in SC1 it's a religion founded by the prophet Khas (this guy isn't even mentioned in SC2, show how blizzard didn't want people to remember what the Khalai was originally);
it helped Protoss to grasp their natural psionic link, it was something innate to them (hence the need for DT to cut their neural nerves to maintain their individuality) I largely prefer the ancient nature of the Khala.

I don't know about a rework. but i would like a throwback to his vulture days.
Literally every ranged assassin does what Jimmy does but better, ontop of having better survivability, CC, mobility, or all 3. Even this one. This one in this video does everything better than Jimmy does.
Everyone who has no mobility needs a rework now that overwatch heroes with insane mobility exist.
I really hope they don't nerf his shield trait by changing it to activeable.

If they do a dreadlord hopefully it's Varimathras or Mal'ganis. Tichondrius is the most powerful of them but he's so unmemorable in both WC3 and WoW. Would like to see Kil'jaeden or Velen since there are no eredar/draenei in HoTS yet.

The dragoon Fenix is more iconic than the zealot Fenix and i like seeing units integrated into HOTS. Overall, a very nerdgasmic experience. I can't wait to see Talandar in the Nexus and maybe as a Multi-class hero might i say.
I strongly doubt they'll add both Fenix and Talandar, but it would be an interesting idea.
I thought so at first, but seeing them explicitly use Fenix and in his Dragoon form gives me hope that we might see the Purifier Talandar with his trade mark armor shifting abilities.
Talandar has his multi-body mechanic, but barring that even his Praetorian suit is different enough from Fenix to be his own hero.

That is Talandar in sc2 not Fenix.

Fenix first says this in Starcraft (original) Episode 3; Mission 7 during the briefing. I've never heard him say it in SC2 though. Also it depends on at which point you in LotV you are referring to as he still went by Fenix until like at the end.
Actually, I might have to restart the campaign and check if he's still gonna name himself as Talandar if you don't make any interraction with him. Since he does name himself as Talandar only by interracting with him between missions

This is very good, truly represents Stalkers, Dragoons and Fenix.
I can already tell Fenix is going to be one of my favorite "specialists" even though he's an assassin.

Is ETC even any character in specific? I'm pretty sure its just short of Elite Tauren Chieftain, so not really anyone in particular
it should be the tauren from the band ETClvX0 so it's a particular character
Robert Jones etc is a tauren with 3 guitars, both in hots and hearthstone. I guess they just chose that character to represent the band.

Talandar is not that good lorewise, but he could be an amazing hero for hots if they decided to make him a multiclass. Preator for warrior, dragoon for assassin, arbiter for support/spec.

Not only is everything about Fenix awesome and badass, that rock-golem skin is super adorable and I want one as a pet.
