I have separate dac streamer ROSE hifi to pair with my luxman, I am happy luxman does not come with a dac as it means I have a amp from an amp company and a dac and streamer from a near dedicated company.
Use to in mid 80's I had Luxman C-02 and M-02 and bit of later MQ-50 as well. Luxman make beautiful hifi devices, congratulations. Today I have Marantz AV8003 and Marantz MM8003.
Those days I was start to looking amplifiers which would work decently with 2ch music and with movies. Why I select Marantz, at my knowledge Marantz is made pretty good products but also those was pretty good discount as well those days, 1/3 off the price. I never listen those amplifiers before I bought it so it was little bit like a shot in the dark as well. But they sound surprisingly good.
That is a beautiful machine! I had the L-509x and sold it. I love my current integrated, but I still wish I had the Luxman to demo with my new speakers. Enjoy!!
I changed from 509z (not the 509x) to a pair of GANfet mono block amplifiers. There are no faults as such (other than it weighs and built like a tank 😅) and I like to try out components if I happen to come across a good deal. If you found a good deal for the used 509x and you would like a slightly laid back sound stage that suits your taste and system, I see why not
If you use a good quality transformer with sufficient head room it should not sound different. In one of my videos I showed where you can buy it in Akihabara.
I was considering this but then I learned the price markup is > 30% Japan vs USA/Canada. That is not nice on the part of Luxman. Likewise Accuphase. Now, I'll probably go with a North American made integrated for that reason alone.
The Luxman and Accuphase build and sound quality is excellent, and will be a waste for you to exclude them from your evaluation because of their domestic pricing policy.
Great that you enjoyed Accuphase, it's a solid amplifier as well, but have to disagree with you on resale price as even previous 509X is having good value in used market.
The sound is not necessary at all but it’s a sign that good relays are used to connect the input and also fully disconnect from the unused inputs . Cheaper switches don’t fully isolate the signal

STUNNING Craftsmanship
The fit, finish and engineering is amazing
Wow! Gorgeous. 🔥
How beautiful can be!
😍
Very nice, hope you enjoy it for years to come.
I hope so too … but there’s always the never ending desire to upgrade 😅

Well okay, but with that attitude I give you six months tops, lol. 😊
The craftsmanship is awesome, really.
Let’s hear it!
What a beautiful piece, you had over 1,400 views here, play some music on and and talk about it, would love to come back and watch more.
Thanks for your kind words
really impressive really
Beautiful. I like that it has 3 tone controls. No DAC board slot though like the Accuphase.
Agreed!
@@HifihobbyI think the DAC option would be helpful. I'm surprised they omitted it.
@@stuartwiner7920very puzzling

Looks like we went opposite direction, I started with home theater using receivers (Pioneer / Denon) but now only stereo setup. Enjoy the journey!

Luxman and Accuphase are so beautiful!
Will have more videos with Luxman and Accuphase gear coming up. Subscribe to be notified when it’s up

It is a wonderfully engineered amplifier. 👍🏼 Thanks for subscribing
I'm thinking of buying a used 509x, what did you upgrade to? What were the faults of the 509x? Thanks

I love it, but wasn't convinced the extra outlay was worth replacing my 509X for!
Realy stunning!
Thank you! 😊
I am planning to purchase l507z lower model, Is it too heavy to unbox and lift for a single person?
The amp plus box is heavy (around 30kg) and quite big so it’s better you call a friend to help.
@@Hifihobby thanks, I will also check Luxman L-505Z or Accuphase E-280.
Nice little amp at a cheap price 🙂
Will the Japanese domestic models sound different with step-down transformer?
If you use a good quality transformer with sufficient head room it should not sound different. In one of my videos I showed where you can buy it in Akihabara.
She's a beauty! Full review in the current issue of Stereophile Magazine BTW.

Do you get any interconnect cables with it and what size is the power cable.
It doesn’t come with interconnect cables. I don’t have the size of the power cable supplied but it is thick and of good quality.
OK thanks.
such a good looking amp 😍
I agree 😆
Ooit de Luxman C 06 en M06 gehad en moet zeggen het klonk goed maar niet op het niveau van de prijs die Luxman hiervoor vroeg!
Pray for it

Интересно сколько стоит такой аппарат?
Selling about USD 12K
Pure class A?
It’s class AB but does operate at Class A at lower output
👍
Thanks for watching
$17,495.00 · In Canada
..we think we'd rather have the Yamaha R-N2000A $3900.00 · In Canada thank-you
That’s a great choice too. Enjoy!
why do all amps look like ovens these days
The diversity of amplifiers designs available in the market today is huge. From the classic designs to newer ones with touch screen

Looks like someone should stick to watching cooking videos, lol.
🤤🤤🤯🤯💓😍💓😍💓😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It is beautiful, but I prefer my Technics SU-R1000 😀
The Technics R1000 is amazing. Great choice
Made in Kelantan Corp Sdn Bhd
Malaysia 🇲🇾......👍👍👍
Definitely made in Japan, abang.
it's MADE IN JAPAN. .
i suggest to put your reading Glasses on and look at the back of the unit. it says: MADE IN JAPAN !
ボリュウムノブを回して、数字が下がっていくのが変
The volume measurement scale is quite common for hifi amps, calculated in -dB against reference “0”
Lol Try the Accuphase E4000 or simply the E380 and you'll sell your Luxman at once even for half the price. Haha good luck !
Great that you enjoyed Accuphase, it's a solid amplifier as well, but have to disagree with you on resale price as even previous 509X is having good value in used market.
