Do you know if polyester or elastane headwear can contribute to this problem? I ask because it is said that wearing underwear made of synthetic material negatively affects reproduction and is endocrine disrupting due to the static generated by the fibres as this was tested on dogs. I wondered if the static from synthetic headwear such as elasticated head bands could cause the stem cell to become stuck since static creates a disruption in the balance of ions.

Younger sister colors her hair black so it’s hard to see how much white she has. I’m the last to go white and I have a big strand of white along my right forehead. It’s kinda coool. My stylist didn't believe in reversible graying until she saw it in me about a year ago. My gray comes and goes and now I've got a real clue as to why. I take several grams of lecithin per day when I feel I need acetylcholine support, which isn't always. Lecithin's amino acid is - ta-daa - l-methionine, and lecithin is the only isolated source of l-methionine that I've ever taken. (As a stand-alone supplement >500mg or so, it can cause unpleasant mood alteration phenomena e.g. "unreality", deja-vu, etc.; never had this from lecithin.) Thanks so much for this clip ... this is the first real clue to this mystery that I've seen, and the first public acknowledgement that I'm not actually imagining "outgrowing" my gray hair. (Now is it also possible that l-methionine may revive dead follicles? Because it's not just my gray that comes and goes ... it's also the little pie of barenness on my scalp that fluctuates too.)

The patch of thinness could simply be form the natural cycle of hair follicles. Only about 2/3 of your hair follicles are ever active at the same time, this is why there is always some natural loss throughout your life as the follicles turn on and off and the hair drops out. So as the hair follicles in the thin area switch from active to dormant the number of them is not even and one part of cycle the area has less active follicles than at a later stage.

Even reading this is changing the DNA in your neurons in your brain, as you read this and make more connections between neurons, and individual neurons fire more than others. Everything is genetic. And your DNA is constantly changing. This is scientific fact now, the public is just slow to keep up because most don't like to learn once they get out of school. I find learning as easy as eating, sleeping, drinking, or breathing, and so I don't think there's an excuse for anyone. When his hair grew back it had the rich dark brown coloration of his youth (he went on to live into his early 90s). Presumably stem cells replenished his hair as well as those for his different white cell populations.

A big trick among catalase enzyme containing supplements is that they contain green superfoods, namely CHLORELLA. The catalase is digested and therefore does nothing similar to when taking collagen. And if you want to help with re growing hair follicles go with Fucoidan which is a very safe stem cell activator, aside from using Neosporin to combat folliculitis and keep the toilet lid down to help prevent that.

That's not what that study found.
First of all, it was a study in mice. Second, they were looking at the effects of too much L-methionine when specific other factors, memory loss among them, were already present. They concluded that L-methionine toxicity, in mice with other physiological factors can cause alzheimer's-like symptoms.
They actually list all the important functions and benefits of L-methionine in the paper. And also say more studies on L-methionine in animals are needed because other things could have contributed the their results.

Much to my shock, only the last half of the hair was gray. The root half had repigmented back to brown! What a gift from the universe on my bday!
I was shocked because I didn’t know this was possible. I’ve had my ass kicked by various viruses over the last coup,e years and I suspect that may have prompted the hair to turn gray (I also experienced quite a lot of hair loss or telegenic effluvium).

I've been asked where I go to get my hair done and I laugh and say "no where. it's all natural"...after seeing that they sell gray hair dye many years ago in the beauty supply store, I decided why bother coloring mine? I was never obsessed with dying my hair, so growing it out to be all gray was a painless process. Younger people are paying good $ to have their hair dyed gray, so I'm a head of the game! Then, they would see either one of two things. Either the hair was gray at the tip and brown near the root or, it would be gray on both ends and brown in the middle. At one time, I thought I would be going for the Cruella DeVille look, because I had a wash of gray on the one side. It went away. Now, I think the gray hairs are just hiding behind brown ones. The only thing I could think of was, I had started taking collagen powder for joint health- the collagen helped subdue the inflammation in my knees and ankles- About 4 months ago, I stopped taking the collagen and we notice my hair is still coming in gray-brown

It's like I hit the rewind button on the aging process... my god is it ever complicated though! Holy Cr*p!!.. amino acids all need to be in the right ratios, almost every vitamin interferes with the absorption of others, and then even if it increases bioavailability, things like vitamin C and iron taken together can actually create ROS and can actually cause more harm than good.. especially to your kidneys... It is an ancient remedy to use black strap molasses to prevent and reverse green hair. I don’t understand the entire science of it… But it works. You take it internally about a tablespoon or two per day. You can mix it in with tea or coffee or you can just ingest it on a spoon or in a smoothie. Just get it in. Then you use the molasses topically as well about once, or twice a month on wash days. You make a pre-shampoo treatment out of the molasses coat, your strands let it soak in for a while before washing out and styling hair as usual. If you continue this, it will reverse or prevent your grays. Obviously depending on how great you are advanced, it’ll take some time others will see results right away. I started going gray prematurely at 16. I’m now 38 and have only seen one gray hair since my teen years.

So years later I have been essentially trying to revive follicles with the premise that helping the scalp and blood capillaries in it, as well as fat cells (presumably) on the scalp should help, using healthy antioxidants as well as sleeping more- Minding the liver, minding copper/ zinc balance, only having natural supplements, and trying new ways of detoxing the scalp, and all generally in order to help decrease acidification from oxidative stress. Currently, bergamot oil in earl grey tea as well as applying it to the hairs after washing my hair and detoxing the scalp using clay, is my new phase of relaxing hairs, etc. Indian medicine has a good few ideas, and I've used those ideas. I notice my hairs have different colours along them when they fall out- the grey at the root will be less on one hair than on another, and I've used henna and indigo on greys so I feel like it has increased and decreased bulges. I only use henna once or twice per year, and take natural b complex vitamins, as well as avoid fortified processed foods which would deplete the ability to reset after oxidative stress. Scalp massage is also good, as is facial massage. General relaxation should help, although I have pain problems so it is a struggle. I've heard through YT videos that it takes 1000+ days to reverse greying, but I don't know if that includes hair dye damage.

My mom had put her over/under for my hair going grey at 30, since she started early. I'm 42 and can sometimes see a single unpigmented (they seem entirely white) hair poking out here and there. Even I'm surprised, especially with all the chemo and radiation I've been through - total body irradiation damages all of your hair follicles and stopped some from working entirely. My hair's fallen out 4 different times, damaged follicles, and the system stress all add up...I expected it to happen earlier and more quickly. I don't mind either way, I just think it's interesting that what little melanin I have (in the remaining functional hair follicles) just keeps on truckin'.

hmm I think grey hair is simply bacteria that likes to feed on the follicles that generate hair color, if you kill off that bacteria using ethyl alcohol your hair will go from grey to your original hair color... worked for me, I have photo's of my hair half grey and half original color... yeah it looked weird but I was happy.
unfortunately not the same story for white hair, but you just need to pluck them and hope they re-grow.

I've since stopped taking that supplement but have kept taking a Zinc supplement. I'm 64 now and still have most of my Hair colour. Don't take too much of course, but I take about 15 milligrams a day of it. But the Genes probably do have something to do with it. My Father never went bald and didn't go gray until he turned 70.

My entire family’s hair turns gray by 35 & completely white by 50. Most of them dye their hair regularly.
On my father’s side, male pattern balding starts at age 35.
When I turned 35, I said out loud that if my hair starts to recede & turn white then LET IT. It’s not like I can stop it anyway.
Then…….at 42 years old, my entire crown is still thick & jet black. The one person who wasn’t scared of the familial age-related hair patterns is still enjoying a natural unaltered crown. 😂😂

Now that I'm older I probably have 100 or so normal grays. But, when I get good sleep, they seem to reduce. I do take a multivitamin that contains L-Methionine.

The hair on my head seems to be stable for now at 38 years old but about 2-3 years ago a few odd white hairs started showing up around the chin in my beard. Those 3-5 hairs have now turned into visible clumps still constrained to the same area, interestingly all close to an old scar from a childhood incident that required stitches.
I really don't mind it just curious to see how it progresses, the loss of hair coverage at the top of my head is slightly more of a nuisance but I've eventually accepted that I need to apply sunscreen there too now or consistently wear a hat on days with enough UV radiation. Being male and knowing the hair patterns of most men on my moms side of the family I'm not surprised at all (both living and those in old photos).
