Hello Prime Time Aquatics. Last week on your live stream I asked a question " would beneficial bacteria survive being shipped. " You were curious and wanted me to let you know how I made out with it. Well it was shipped overnight/ like you would ship fish. It was a waste of money because it did nothing to help cycle my tank. I'll never know for sure if the bb died during shipping or if there weren't enough bb in the sponge filter to kick start cycling. So now I'm back to cycling my tank the old fashion way. Thanks for answering my question though. You always give informative answers.
So excited! Picking up my order of these beautiful fish from you tomorrow at the QC fish swap. These and a bunch of different rainbow fish too. Looking for to meeting you too. You both were big part in me getting back into fishkeeping after 25 years (raising kids). Thank you for creating fun and very informative videos. You are one of a few channels that I trust implicitly for all things fish.
I’ve had these on my wish list since seeing them in videos. Thanks for highlighting them!
Beautiful fish now on my list. Great scape in that tank. Thank you for sharing with us.
I have a tank with RNR fry in it, so far i counted 5. I have been trying for about a year now. I am so excited, and wanted to share with someone who cares and knows about these fish!
Edit*
I have a 20 long devoted to this species, i have a nice male to female ratio, i use spawning mops, and have a 10 gallon tank i put the mops into. The fry we discovered when my wife put clippings from hornwort into the 10 gallon from the rnr 20 gallon. There was only 2, i started using the mops the next day, as soon as i put the mop into the 20 gallon, they went right to it as is they know what its for, about 3 weeks later i put a new mop in and brought the first one to the 10 gallon with the initial 2 fry, about a week later i noticed little slivers swiming around. I hope this continues because this fish needs to be saved! Thanks for reading thru all of this haha
That’s so cool!
Would you be willing to sell any?
Iv never seen these. They're gorgeous! I'm a new subscriber and I'm so glad I discovered you & Joannas Small Scape. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Glad I saw this. Our water parameters are almost identical so care guides led me to believe this fish would not do well for me. Thank you!!!
Have fun!
Thanks for the education about these fish! I just watched Joanna’s video where she scaped this tank, and she gave us the heads up about this breed profile. These fish are stunning! As soon as I’m able to sell the bristlenose plecos currently occupying my 20 gallon long, I might just see if I can recreate this tank. It really is beautiful. 😊
Love these fish! The group we got from you is doing so well in my 50 gallon with neon tetras, CPDs, electric blue rams, cories, and bristlenose!
Good to hear!
I saw these in person for the first time yesterday at a LFS I went to for the first time. What timing on your video. At the store I noticed these guys have the general look of a rummynose tetra but the pecking and hovering behavior of a pencilfish. Super cool.
Great video as always. I love these from you because I am a serial window shopper and can watch your vids on my couch on my giant TV instead. Great aquascapes too.
Exactly - they have a mix of interesting behaviors!
Had never heard of these before. Really cool. Really enjoy species profiles.
Thank you!
You're are the content king love the tank and all you guys share. 👊👽✌️💜✨
Thank you for being here!
Thanks Jason, Just watched Joanna's video. May be my next go to!
Totally worth it!
You covered it all:-) They sure are pretty...you don't help decrease the MTS by introducing such beautiful fish..lol. Have a great day!
Ya, I've been known to make MTS worse for a lot of people. :-)
I just picked up 10 of these to add to my 55 gallon that houses emperor tetras and guppies. Super happy with them.
Awesome plants indeed!
they are beautiful!!
I have these in my planted 37 gallon. They really stand out with all my plants
Added 8 of these guys to my community tank this weekend. Got em for $5 a piece at a LFS. They were following my finger in the store and it was so cool I had to get them. Beautiful fun little fish.
That’s awesome!
I was thinking about putting CPDs in my new tank but you've sold me on these cute little buggers
They are very pretty fish. 🐟🐟🐟🐟 Gina
Wow! That’s a really nice 20g long scape!
Beautiful
Bucket fish. They are gorgeous!
Those are beautiful
I've never seen these little guys, I want them so much. I'm looking locally but haven't seen them anywhere. May haver to wait and order them in the spring.
Beautiful 👍
Good video
Asian Rummy Nose have 20 in my planted love them!👍
You should do a video about the more peacuful Bettas like imbellis and mahachaiensis
I have 10 of these in a 20 long. 8 males, 2 females. I keep them with neon tetras, rummynose tetras, and harlequin rasboras. The water is at 78 degrees and they're thriving actually. Although, they probably prefer it to be a little cooler.
Beautiful fish! I think they would look nice with some CPDs.
Yes!
I don’t think I’m gonna stop seeing these everywhere until I just buy some 😅
Do it!
👍😎 I like the look of them better than the tetras. ✌️
Me too
Good^^
When I saw these for the first time in Joanna’s video last week I immediately Googled them because they were so striking. The Wikipedia article from a year ago lists them as an endangered species. I appreciate the information about breeding and raising the fry, maybe that will help. Are the ones you and/or Flip Aquatics sell captive bred? I know Alex Williamson with The Secret History Living in Your Aquarium mentioned a program asking fish breeding hobbyists to breed threatened or endangered fish in captivity. Maybe this species could, or already is, benefit(ing) from that program.
They usually breed them overseas. I think that's how most people are getting them right now.
Thanks, that is good news!
I've never seen these at any of my LFS
Awesome video, can I put these fish with my rummynose tetra ?
Sure!
You should bring some of this to the next gcca swap!!!
I will!
Uh oh, I wasn't expecting to go fish shopping anytime soon buuuuuuttt..
What would you say is more hardy the rummynose rasbora or the black neon tetra?
The black neon tetra!
@prime time aquatics can these be kept with cherry shrimp ?
They would probably eat any babies that appear.
Can you put with cyptoheros sajica ?
They should be ok
Do yours spar a lot? I had 6 in my fully cycled 10g quarantine tank and after a week of quarantine they started sparing with each other all the time. I just moved them to my planted 40g and they stopped fighting for a day, only just to start again!
Ours have always done ok together. It might have something to do with the quantity? We usually have them in large groups.
I’ll definitely up the number of their school. Thank you for the videos!
Would these do well with angelfish? Or are they too small?
Full grown they would work
Do you guys sell these at greenwater?
Yes - we should have more coming in this fall for the September swap.
Hey Prime Time Aquatic can you make a top 10 fish for kid video ? I know that you has make a video about kid wanting a fish tank and how people should starting a fish tank for their kid, but you never mention which fish is suitable for kid, because you know if some random kid see a small cute fish in LFS and ask their parent to buy that fish and put that fish in a 20 gallon tank, only few month later to the kid to realize that small cute fish has become a monster giant fish that people in fish hobby that usually call a "Oscar".
Kgtropicals has a video about it
Girl talks fish just put a video out about this
When you bring these to swaps, are they mostly males or mixed?
The next group I bring will be mixed.
In your 20 Gallon Long how many Sawbwa's did you have? Thanks
Maybe 12-15?
Will these eat neocaridina shrimps?
They could eat the babies.
they are not egg scatters at all, the lay the eggs under plant leaves and they stick there.
Could these be kept with a betta fish?
Probably
@@PrimeTimeAquatics thanks for the answer!
Where can I buy them
Flip Aquatics had them last time I was there?
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I can’t find them lol. Maybe sold out. I have been on the search for these fish for months. I have a 40 breeder waiting for them.
First!
Hey guys, I had a fish list that I needed a second opinion on:
Standard 29 gallon tank:
6x albino cory
3x-6x Nerite snail
8x neon tetra
8x celestial pearl danio
1x clown pleco
1x betta imbellis (peaceful betta)
I'm using black sand substrate (2-3 inches)
Snails, I was wondering how many, as I know, that they can starve with insufficient algea.
What do you guys think? Any recommendations? Possibly even different fish? It's my first tank. Also, I'm obviously not going to put them all in at once. What order do you guys think would be best to introduce them to the tank after I cycle and plant it?
Thanks! Also, you guys are awesome, I regularly watch your videos!
Looks great! Have fun!
Can i keep these at 77f? Ive heard they like cooler water than most tropical fish
I’ve always kept them in the upper 70s. Never an issue.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics thank you 🐟
