I was just wondering if you have a video about this!! Thanks for sharing your experience, I have it on my calves and arms. When I was younger I even had it on my cheeks which was so annoying. I am using Keraphil since ages and it really helps!
@Mad About Skin I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else needs to find out about treatment keratosis pilaris try Elumpa KP Remedy Alchemist ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my neighbor got excellent results with it.
Nice Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Franaar Wonderful Face Formula (search on google)? It is a great one off guide for getting rid of keratosis pilaris without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend after many years got astronomical results with it.
I started taking cooler showers and using cerave daily lotion and its gone down for me quite a bit. I'm also very careful to only lightly scrub the area. People say its not that bad, but I hate having it lol
I have it and people say it’s not that bad but I’m covered my arms and my back. No one has ever said anything but just like you a honestly can’t stand it
I also use cera ve and it's helped for sure but I recently started using a retinol before I moisturize 3 times a week and the results are great. So its "Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair". I started using it on my face for wrinkles but my kp is on my arms. I don't do it everyday cause it will become costly but it might work even better if used everyday. Also use at night or keep covered from the sun.
As someone who lived in a tropical country grr its worse. Its sweating hot here but im still wearing tshirt. 😭 i feel so out of place during my teenage years coz i cant wear those trendy clothes. It even got worse in my late 20s and I now have it in my thighs. Great I cant wear shorts too 🤦🏻♀️
I haven't worn sleeves for like 4 years. I've had this all my life, but for some reason, it has gotten worse over the past 4 years...I've tried every OTC treatment, lasers, topical Retin-A....sigh
2 years ago my KP came out of nowhere, i used to have soft skin, one day i was taking a bath and notice the red bumps, i was going crazy bc i never experienced anything like that, so i start doing research and i watched almost every single youtube video about it, today my arms are finally almost KP clean!!!! if anyones reading this is what worked for me: olive and coconut oil right after shower, and i put eucerin cream and then i cover it (i put a bandage) + i take omega 3 and vitamin e supplements :)
Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and sharing what works for you.. I do think supplements can help which is great so thank you for calling that out.. Sending lots of love xx
Best video on KP on YT! Thankyou! I've had it ever since I can remember. I'm 34 and it's still going strong. It basically runs continuously from my upper arms down my sides to the upper thighs and buttocks. To a lessor extent also on my forearms. As a teen my parents took me to a dermo who prescribed about 6 or so different treatments that I had to try all at once, each on a different patch of skin, to be able to compare the results. Skin peels, aggressive scrub spunges, lotions. Later on some tablets and eventually weekly sunbed treatments that had to be intense enough so as to cause my skin to peel. I got so dark that people thought I was of Indian Asian descent even though Im Caucasian! The sunbed thing worked to some extent but obviously its not sustainable to get sunburned to the point of peeling on a permanent basis. It absolutely destroyed any body confidence I imagined I had. KP caused many akward situations at swimming events etc. That resulted in me swimming with a shirt on when I couldn't avoid swimming altogether. Intimate situations, oh please, I'd be a complete wreck! Ruined many such occasions completely. So many lost opportunities, akward social situations, loss of self confidence, possibly contributing to depression, God only knows what else. I've come to terms with it now but still have a deep seeded hate towards my own skin. I am definately going to try your suggestions, one by one untill I've tried them all. I think I should keep track with some pictures just to make any changes over time more clear, like before and afters, or even a bit of a time laps thing. Wish me luck, and thanks again! Edit: Liked and subbed 😙
Using 'cling wrap' on my arms after a thick layer of cerave SA overnight has helped my KP drastically. Lazy to create a YT video. But want to help people who have suffered with KP like me. Asian-Indian, female, 30s, light brown dry sensitive skin, lives in a city with low humidity. This is what I do: Step 1: Wash with Cerave SA wash. Step 2: The ordinary lactic acid 10% + HA Step 3: Inkey list BHA Step 4: Cerave SA cream (thick layer) Step 5: E45 cream (pat over) as I find Cerave SA cream isn't moisturising enough for my skin Step 6: Wrap arm in cling film Step 7: Use humidifier (I don't often as I'm lazy) Took around 3 weeks to see good results. Hope this helps.
Wet-scrubbing during a shower, using a sisal-glove in combination with a body-lotion afterwards, works for me. Some hair gets trapped in the follicels, I use a tooth pick sharpened like a chisel to gently scrape off excess skin and lift out the trapped hair, where I can reach. Otherwise I gently use my nails to level the bumps as best as I can without breaking the skin, then some body-lotion.
Hey hun thank you so much for sharing.. Wet brushing can be good so long as the skin is softened by being in the water long enough.. but I wouldnt recommend scraping off as this could cause discoloration to the area xx
Love this video! I’ve suffered with severe KP all my life, I used to call it “rash” all throughout school but didn’t realise there was actually a name for this condition until a couple years ago. I’ve tried so many different products but nothing seemed to work, I would wear long sleeves all the time because it is my biggest insecurity. I used to have it on my cheeks but as I’ve gotten older, it has disappeared and now I have it all over my arms and legs and I can see a little bit starting to form on my back. I’m going to be 25 in a couple months so I want to get serious with my skin now and invest into some great products. One thing I have noticed is that the body wash I’ve used for years wasn’t doing me any favours so I have swapped my normal Dove shower gel for a QV fragrance free body wash which is much softer on the skin. Straight after my showers, I moisturise and I’m currently using Aveeno (green bottle). I can feel my skin getting softer however I now want to incorporate a chemical exfoliate… wish me luck! 😅
Wow! This actually worked. I had the same bottle of lactic acid from The Ordinary in my drawer and wasn't using it. I've been using it everyday for 4 weeks and it's 70% gone! One of the few TH-cam skin remedies that actually work 😂
I’ve struggled with KP my whole life & it really hindered my confidence...It got so bad to the point I would wear jackets or half sleeve shirts in the middle of summer :( regardless of price, what would be the best combo to try from the products you listed? Xoxo ❤️ thank you for sharing your wisdom & helping everyone who struggles with KP
Thanks for your recommendations! I’ve battled with KP my entire life! I’m in my 40’s and I’m trying to take better care of my skin, so I’m in search of what works best for me. I’ve tried KP Duty and I’m now using a Salicylic Acid soap & CeraVe SA cream... The Lord knows this takes patience! 🙏🏾 Thanks again! Tomi
Thank you for this video... I first experienced KP when I had my first child and then got worse when I had my third child... The worst was on my upper arm... I tried scrubbing, moisturizing, using lotions for KP... Didn’t work... So I figured I do microdermabrassion in my face so why not do it in my arm too... So I did that for like 2x a month for 6 months and it helped soooooooo much by getting rid of the bumps... Right now I use facial wash with SA as a body was... But your advice is good maintenance and I will be trying it soon... Thank you...
Hey girl, I know this is a bit old but having it happen worse after each child seems like maybe a vitamin deficiency? It might help to have a look into your vitamin A and C levels (both linked to this issue)
Oh I know the feeling hun as I have hated the tops of my arms for so long but this has really worked for me, especially the lactic acid so I hope it works for you and let me know how you get on with it xx
Love this! New subbie:) i have always had kp (now 31 y/o) i have been using cerave body wash and sa (salycic acid) smoothing cream for 3 months and can confirm that these made a significant difference in terms of reducing the bumps on my arms. I also learned that AHAs (lactic acid) works better where i have severe kp scars/bumps. Skin care is definitely a long haul game. I am now looking forward to getting rid of the hyperpigmentation. tips are welcome
I started having kp after giving birth and I can't get rid of them on my arms. Thanks for your video. Just saw you today and immediately subbed while watching you. ❤️
as a teenager it’s really difficult to have any confidence with kp:( i have it on my arms and legs and i’m so insecure and embarrassed about it cause i have it really bad and i have tried everything and it doesn’t really go away
I used to feel that way as a teenager too but now as an adult I don’t care about most of the things I was insecure about as a teenager! You have this to look forward to about getting older. Nobody cares about these things in the real world outside of school
Just wanted to say how helpful this video was. Watched a TH-cam video from a dermatologist who said hydration is all you need to get rid of KP, but that did nothing and it just kept getting worse. I also spent an unreasonable amount on the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Scrub after hearing great reviews, and my skin suffered for it. This video made me understand my KP so much better. I'm now using the Creightons Salicylic Acid + Niacinamide Exfoliating Tonic (it costs like £2!) on all problem areas in the evenings, and follow up with AmLactin lotion for bumpy skin twice a day. My KP has reduced by at least 50% over the past 2-3 weeks and the tonic is helping to lighten the dark spots left behind from years and years of suffering with KP. I also find that I tend to forget that my skin needs extra care and the use of products specifically designed for it, because theres so much misinformation out there. I can't thank you enough for this clear and concise explanation and approach to KP!
Great video, i thought this was fake but i actually enjoyed this and i’m definitely trying these products out. I’ve suffered from KP since i was little and i really hated it and it was always bringing me down. I saw a dermatologist 4 years ago and he gave me a specific body wash and a cream but they did not work at all. A month ago, my new dermatologist told me to use a lotion called Kerapil, it’s anti roughness and ingrown hair. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and it’s working great on my legs and arms but not on my upper arms. My upper arms still itch but it is making it slightly better. I’ll make sure to ask her about these products to make sure i can use them especially that my skin is extra sensitive. Thank you for the video.
Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and for sharing your recommendations and experiences, they will be so so useful for people watching so sending lots of love from the UK xx
Thank you so much!!! Ive been battle late stage chronic Lyme + coinfections and hypothyroid the past 3 years (I’ll be 35 soon) and this popped out of nowhere for me, it’s soooooo bad and I’m deviated, disgusted, shocked, freaking out so I’m really grateful to you for sharing so much wondeful insight and great tips and products recommendations! From one beauty executive to you babes… THANK YOU!!!❤
Thank you so much for the advice! I didn't know it was called KP and I had it since my teens on my legs. It wasn't too bad so I never got it looked at and never googled it. I thought my hair is just too weak to poke out of my skin...(I have very fine leg hair) But I've tried: 1. hot shower, scrub it until the skin is red, use my nail or a needle to pick out the hair and heavy moisturiser... (don't do this...) 2. laser my non-existent leg hair off cos no hair no blockage... (It helps but not cheap) 3. No tight clothing over it (I don't think it works...)
My daughter is 12 and she has it on her legs, arms and face. She won’t wear shorts or she won’t tie her hair so it covers her cheeks. Doctor said it’s skin condition and she has to get used to it. Thank you for your video xx
Thank you so much for this video! Like so many of you I have had KP all my life, but since I started going through perimenopause the KP on my thighs has gotten so bad! Friends have actually commented on it while at the beach. I am also pretty self conscious in shorts HOWEVER yes! I started using Cerave salicylic acid wash, the Cerave salicylic acid cream as well as a great urea+lactic acid moisturizer I bought here in Spain called Lactovit. These products work great! I never thought about using The Ordinary lactic acid on my thighs. I will try it! Thanks Rob! I know my KP is reacting to the hormonal changes I am going through so I've got to manage it more for the time being, but I am very lucky that perimenopause has only affected my KP on my thighs and not on my arms or face. Best of luck everyone! Thanks for all the advice and suggestions!!
I'm in the US. I have KP my whole life (in mid 30's) and have been tackling my kp on back of arms and thighs since quarantine. 2% salicylic acid in the shower followed by CeraVe in the tub did nothing for me. But using an exfoliating mitt in the shower once a week followed by AmLactin once or twice a day has completely gotten rid of the bumps. I use AmLactin daily (that's the name) after my shower each day and that did help some. Pairing it with the exfoliating gloves once a week is what really made the huge difference. Loving my smooth thighs as I've NEVER had them smooth in my life as well as the back of my arms. I'm going to see about the ordinary lactic acid next. Do you apply with a cotton pad? Need details!
Hey hun thank you so much for watching and thats a great question.. You apply it with your hands as its a little thick for a cotton round which soaks up too much of the product.. About 3 drops will be enough to cover the tops of the arms xx
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out how to treat keratosis pilaris try Elumpa KP Remedy Alchemist (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got great success with it.
I use Amlactine daily moisturiser which works for me as a one step product. Only downside is it is not readily available in the UK. I have to buy from the US. Thank you so much for the recommendations.
People don't know how it feel to have kp and I've been suffer with it ever since when I was in high school and it's so embarrassing 😔 I'm hoping it will help
I am 34 now and had it all my life. I know exactly how you must feel. Take it from me, dont allow it to ruin any oportunties you may get to make great memories. When you get older and realise how much you've missed out on because you were embarrassed by it you'll be really disappointed. Most other people dont even really care about it on your skin as much as you think they do. Its a pity it took me so long to realise that. Fight back, dont let it rule the course of your life.
@@dismoptism5541 I tried CeraVe for dry rough bumpy skin for the first time after showering and I cannot believe the immediate difference it’s made. I’ve had Kp most of my life. I just can’t believe it.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned but I use Ameliorate which is fantastic moisturiser with lactic acidosis and it really does work. I use the fragrance free lotion but does come in a heavier cream. It’s around £24 for 200 ml on look fantastic but they always have discount codes! It’s worked wonders for my kp x
Nothing has worked for me except sun exposure. This probably sounds weird, but after spending time on the beach, my KP calms down. I used to think it was just because my suntan would kind of mask the red bumps, but I don't tan anymore; I only burn, so I wear lot of sunblock. Yet, the KP still calms down afterward. Even if I get burnt! After a few days, the redness of the burn goes away and so does the KP. I've also noticed when driving in the car with the sun hitting my left arm through the window, I can see the KP on that arm is much less severe than on the right arm. I think UV light might be the answer.
Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and your not alone in thinking this, its important to make sure you use SPF but sun exposure increases cellular turnover which will help so there is a reason behind this.. Thank you for watching and sharing xx
BREAKING NEWS: here is a cream a dermatologist gave me, rlly cheap, formulated ESPECIALLY for KP that has been working for yeaaars and is really great!! KERAPIL cream, from noreva laboratory
Came to see why it is your most watched video 😊 So clear and helpful. I've got rid of my KP by using Boots ingredients Glycolic acid body peel & cream 😊
I am blessed with both facial acne and KP on my arm and legs 😂 I wonder if they have anything to do with each other. Exfoliating definitely helps my KP, I think I just need to do more of it. I have a Salicylic acid body wash which helps a little on its own, I am going to try using a lotion with urea in conjunction with that. 👍
ive had this ever since i was little. i didnt know what it was at all and i just thought it was because i was pail. i went to the dermatologist for it because i had it on my arms. they prescribed me amalactin. it works really well. i started to get it on my legs as well and now im going to try ameliorate. ive seen amazing reviews about it. this video has helped me so much!! I've always been so embarrassed of showing my skin. and i get asked why in really hot weather why i wear hoodies and no shorts. my mom started to notice it and also my friends. every time they asked me why i was cold. they thought i had chill bumps. so now im wanting to get rid of this so i can feel comfortable wearing shorts since summer is coming up! thank for so much for giving me hope in this! when the doctor told me it was inherited i thought i would never get rid of it, but im starting to try very hard now. thank you! :)
I just wanted to say thanks so much for the cerave sa smoothing cream recommendation. My 8 year old is really conscious of her arms and legs due to KP. Wr have tried all sorts with no real improvement. We have only been using it for a couple of days and have already seen a vast improvement, so thank you so much!! X x
Sharmilla Shrii Logindran i stopped using it very regularly cos i didn’t really see a dramatic improvement ngl, it’s kind of just up and down, sometimes good sometimes bad, but definitely not resolved
thank you for this video, i’m 19 and i have it on my arms, my back and my legs unfortunately. I don’t really have rough skin, it’s the appearance that bothers me. Would laser treatments or chemical peels be more effective? sending love!! stay safe xo
Hi Hun, Thank you so so much for watching.. I would still do this routine as the exfoliation will help with the pigmentation and discoloration .. After about 3 months assess your results and then maybe look into some other treatments based on how well this worked.. Light therapy can be really good but I think its better to try the creams and at home things first before spending money on clinical treatments.. Hope this helps xx
Thanks a lot for your channel, always can find something unique and extremely useful. According to your recommendation, I use lactic acid 10% ordinary every day on my shoulders about 2 weeks and it’s fine. On my face even twice a week is a bit too much, realized just yesterday after applying. Could you please advise if it can be not good for skin even if I don’t have unpleasant feeling like on the face. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your experience Rob! I’ve had KP since teenage years and it started to bother me this summer. Such a good point in scrubs! They don’t help at all. I’ve tried TO glycolic toner for exfoliation but did not follow with an occlusive moisturizer - thanks for the advice! Will try this
Try fels naptha soap. It's a bar. It's in the grocery store in the laundry section. It's lye based. Like old fashioned soap. It worked for me immediately
Try fels naptha soap. It is in a bar form. It's in the grocery store in the laundry section. It's a lye based soap like they used to make in the olden days. It worked for me immediately
The ONE product that has high percentage of lactic acid and is a thick moisturizer, best value for money, is Amlactin 15% lactic acid body lotion. It is recommended by Dr Dray here on TH-cam. It has a huge 400gram bottle, and is cruelty free. I just used it may be 5-6 times in total so far, with several days gaps in between. Each use has led to visible changes and now my KP has reduced so much. I am doing at home IPL, but even then my skin had those KP dots, but this lotion helped so much! They also have a 12% lactic acid option as well.
@@MadAboutSkin Wow thanks a million for considering this! Much appreciate your attention. Love all the way you share all your experiences in your videos. xx
I've been using the leftovers from an old bottle of Pixi Glow Tonic (so 5% glycolic acid but with some hydrating/soothing ingredients like glycerin and aloe) on the KP and ingrowns I get on my legs because I didn't want the fragrance on my currently-sensitive face. 😅 I saw results, but now I'm glad to know what will work better for those stubborn remnants! Also I just want to say for those still struggling with it, please try not to be too hard on yourself. As a kid I had friends with KP on their arms and honestly never thought anything of it, just saw it as a natural feature like freckles. It shouldn't make you shy and stop you wearing T-shirts in the summer even if you can't get rid of it.
Mad About Skin yes I’ll keep you updated, hopefully 1st time is the charm. Or else I’ll try different products and different combinations. I bought the KP scrub and the CeraVe SA creme. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@@harikareddy7963 yes I have been using these two products for about 2 months, now. I saw a significant improvement right away. I also sabotage my process because I did pick on my KP bumps because it’s really hard for me not to pick on them so they probably get worse from doing this. But I’ve refrained myself from picking on them for about a month now, and my skin looks significantly better, it’s not completely gone because I had a really bad case of KP to begin with plus the picking. A lot of my bumps are gone so I’m hoping that they will be completely gone as I keep treating my arms. I’m curious to see what next summer will do to my KP since it usually flares up in the summer and I started using the products in about October (2months ago). I use the “KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub”, 2x a week in the shower. (Sometimes less than 2x) And the “CeraVe SA Cream” everyday after I shower & apply a generous amount. Lol
It's totally working and I am shocked to see the miracle... I had kp on my arms nd recently it got so visible. each nd everyone asked about my arm so, I avoided wearing sleeveless nd I also tried some other remedies nothing works as this one😍.... Within a month I am seeing the huge change. My arms are shining nd kp s fading. So glad to this vid nd Thank you somuch for sharing with us😍✨♥️
My husband got rid of his KP through diet. Lots of plant foods, flax seed oil, eliminating animal fats and sugar and processed foods. Hope this helps as well.
I’ve had this since puberty but I never got too bothered by it as I already had eczema and learnt to love my skin! however when I tan now it looks soooo uneven! So I’m hoping this will help reduce this, thank you!
Thank you for your advice this will truly help those who suffers from KP like myself😭! This routine really works and I've been using Cerave SA Cream after shower when my skin is a little bit damp/moist and got the advice from Dr Dray and Dr Sam Bunting. You deserve my sub! Can't wait to watch your other videos. 😊
@@Hurricanetongue it didn't completely got rid of it coz mine is pretty bad but it does look much better now. I don't also expect it to clear it since it is a Vit A deficient so I need to fix my gut to heal it for good.
I used the Paula's Choice body BHA on my arms for the past month and my KP is totally gone. I thought that nothing was happening for a long time and on week four I decided to lightly scrub at my arms with a soft wash cloth...that's all it needed to slough all that build-up away. It's 100% gone.
I have seen some videos of people having KP and they recommend The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% because apparently it goes deeper into the skin and unlocks those pores, and you recommended The Ordinary 2% Salicilyc acid so in the end what is better? Thank you in advance!
Hi hun thank you so much for watching and thats a great question.. Both will work but studies have shown that SA is better at breaking down the keratin which is causing the plugs and so I would go for that.. You will get good results with SA and if you would like something a little stronger then the ordinary 10% lactic acid is also proven to break down the keratin which will work better than glycolic.. I hope this helps xx
@@MadAboutSkin I have Pixi glow tonic can I also use that ? Will it work ? I have a lot of hyperpigmentation on my upper arms and back due to this KP so what will u suggest for that? I haven't worn sleeveless since last 13 year and I want to get rid of it before my marriage in April. Plz help 🙏
I honestly didn't even care until I realized I could get rid of it really easy with the ordinary peeling solution. And I did that for the hyperpigmentation. Found out my kp disappeared too and then found out it was the best treatment for it.
I had too many in my arms but no more now. my secret is; I brushed my arms with a dry brush and than I took a shower and than glycolic acid tonner and coconut oil! this is just a magic! I have no chicken arm anymore Also my arms look so much better
@@hello-pc7ff also a small detail; normally I brush my arm before every shower but sometimes I brushed my arm during the shower because hot water and steam soften the arm, also its important if you brush your arm just during the day without shower, You should wipe it with a wet cloth before applying glycolic acid. I applied this technique at least 5 times a week for 3 months and the bad image on my arm completely disappeared. Although I didn't exercise and gained weight at that time, my arm got very fit
Heyy!! I just ordered the Alpha Skin Care - Renewal Body Lotion, 12% Glycolic AHA as I've heard it has good results. Will this be ok? Or do you think i'd be better off with the CeraVe? I have it all over my legs, arms, and neck since I was a kid. Never been free of it yet :(
Very informative, thanks! Is it possible for kp to be really itchy? Several months ago I developed what looks like kp but also lots of tiny cherry angiomas. At times it's so itchy I can't sleep. What helped was moisturising less, ironically but also significantly reduced but not eliminated dairy & gluten. It's been much better but the spots are stubborn and still the occasional seemingly random itchy flare. My doctor thinks it's allergies not kp, at a bit of a loss with it
I have KP, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I also have eczema. The doctors prescribed me cream, and annoyingly enough, it bleached my skin. I was so angry and now my skin has deep white patches on my skin, which is mixed race, so it looks obvious. Do you know any creams/information about bleached skin and where I can heal it? Thank you so much if you replied as i am stuck what to get😞❤️
The SA cream itches so bad, but I started using my Paula’s Choice AHA and Josie Maran Argan Oil Cream on it and it works great. Didn’t take months, but mine isn’t severe I guess. An rx steroid cream can also help speed the initial healing, and then you can start this routine for maintenance. I wanted to love the Cerave SA moisturizer, but it gave me a terrible rash. This other routine does not.
My advice to teenagers/young adults that avoid wearing short sleeves/shorts. Please don’t. Life is too short to worry about this. Just start wearing whatever you want, it’ll be uncomfortable at first but you’ll get used to it and won’t care anymore! I promise you no one is staring at your kp and if someone makes comments about it, who cares?
Hi! Thanks for sharing. My main concern is the dark dots around hair follicles, which are all over legs , how to get rid of them? I have been using cerave SA cleanser followed by cerave renewing SA cream/ SA renewing lotion interchangeably for about 2 months. I have seen some improvement but are these only for the raised bumps ?( I only have that on back of thighs). Maybe I’m wasting product And should only use them there? I’m considering the Ordinary lactic acid 10% will this work to remove or lighten the the dark spots around the follicules? Any suggestions. I Have been trying to figure this out for years
Hi Hun thank you so so much for watching and commenting and thats a great question.. Lactic acid will really help as it will exfoliate and remove the pigment over time so I would buy the ordinary one and add it to your body routine.. You will see results after using it for about 3 weeks.. Let me know what you think of it once you try it xx
Oh just a helpful tip as well. If and when you want to exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead skin cells DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT use a scrub and a rough shower mitt or rough sponge. If you use a scrub, I advise using it with a soft sponge or a gentle shower brush. DO NOT SCRUB AT YOUR SKIN you will scar.
Could the The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution work instead of the inkleys product you mentioned? Or what ordinary product would work the same? I live in the US
Wish I knew this when I was going to the Nobel ball in a wonderful long dress totally without sleeves. A long time ago. well well. I’ll have to recommend it to my son who has the same problem! Thanks!
Hi hun I think this may risk making it worse.. scrubs will irritate the area and make it redder and coconut oil could clog the follicles.. I would switch to an exfoliating acid and then use a more lightweight moisturiser on top.. hope this helps xx
I don't get bumps but post hair removal (epilating ) i have reddish brown dots in ghe hair follicles all over my legs. I have tried Glycolic acid lotion but it's hasn't reduced the appearance. Do u think salicylic acid 2% will help better?
Hi! I'm aira from philippines...I have notice your video about KP...i was wondering because i have this KP in my back of my arms and thighs since i was 12 till now that i'm almost 22 ..i did not have tried any of skin treatment yet and this video made me more interesting..I would like to know what step by step i should do to get rid of this KP...thank you very much...
Hey hun thank you so much for watching and if you follow the steps which are in this video with an exfoliator followed by a thick moisturiser then you should see results.. I have had KP all my life and this has really worked for me xx
Wow, I just got to this video after I found my own way to get rid of KP, but still so useful. I use glycolic acid 7% toning solution from Ordinary, and then a really moisturizer body lotion, so it's quite close to what you said.
Hi Everyone, I'm 40 and have suffered from this for my entire life. I buy glycolic acid off of Amazon and mix it with an astringent. I wipe it all over my body every day and then moisturize over it. The upside is now I have skin like a teenager. Hope this helps someone!
Hi bunny ~ I'm gonna use nip&fab's salicylic acid 2% gel thing and as my mosruriserier I'm using the simple replenishing rich moisturizer for sensitive skin. I kinda want to send u a pic of exactly bad it is cuz it's really really bad my KP lol what do u think of this? Thank u for Ur attention btw u are awesome ☺️☺️😊~
Thanks for the brill video! All the KP treatment advice Ive seen is so complex, so I appreciate the simplicity of this. Quick question: is there a difference in result time with using an all in one SA moisturiser vs a two step routine? Big love to you and the channel ✌️
Thank you so so much hun and thank you for watching.. i hope it works well for you and i dont think there is much of a difference as they both work so its personal preference... sending you lots of love xxxx
I think you missed an opportunity to discuss how nutrition relates to this condition as lack of vitamin C and A can cause it. 1 in 20 people are deficient in Vit C so this could apply to a significant number of your viewers. If it’s due to deficiency everything here is just treating symptoms that could be resolved with improving diet. Also, shaving actually *helps* as it exfoliates dead skin. I had noticed anecdotally for years that it always appeared better in the first days after shaving and looked worse as hair grows back. In general, ever since improving my diet + regular shaving, the bumps have disappeared considerably.
Can you do a video on seborrheic dermatitis of the face and how to identify the root cause of it? I have heard it can be thyroid, hormonal, gallbladder, immune system, gut leaking, gut bacteria imbalance, disrupted skin barrier for some people though usually more. Vitamin deficiency, etc. this condition needs more awareness. I have heard holistic, TCM, natural medicine doctors and chiropractors are better about treating/getting rid of it
Mine happened when I moved to America in 2017 at age 19 from West Africa. So yeah, immigrating to a different country can cause KP and I was horrified. I looked up the condition and was so confused because I have never shaved my arm or legs before and neither did I have dry skin; so I couldn't relate to the causes of KP I saw online. Also for me, the KP didn't even happen in the cold months when I first got here, I started feeling them in the summer from June 2017.
Not sure but I think I may be getting this on my calves... I need to look it up & see for sure. But my husband def has this on his arms. I just wanna say- I finally bought the inkey list oat cleansing balm. Wow!!! So mad at myself for putting off so long!! It’s soooo good!! And I was rubbing too much to remove my other first cleanse products before bc I had to to remove them.. Love love it. Thank you for twisting my arm lol
Oh I am so so glad you love it as much as I do hun.. I know so many people who have put off trying it and always been sad they didnt use it sooner :) sending you lots of love xxxxx
Hey guys hope this helps everyone who has been suffering with this skin complaint like I have.. Let me know your experiences xx
I was just wondering if you have a video about this!! Thanks for sharing your experience, I have it on my calves and arms. When I was younger I even had it on my cheeks which was so annoying. I am using Keraphil since ages and it really helps!

Nice Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Franaar Wonderful Face Formula (search on google)? It is a great one off guide for getting rid of keratosis pilaris without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend after many years got astronomical results with it.

did it get rid of it?
How was it? Did it work?
I started taking cooler showers and using cerave daily lotion and its gone down for me quite a bit. I'm also very careful to only lightly scrub the area. People say its not that bad, but I hate having it lol
Same it lowers my confidence
hii i wanted to know how long did it take for your kp to get better using the cerave lotion? 😭
@@froggy897 same i have been using the cerave cream for weeks now but no results yet

This is what I do:
Step 1: Wash with Cerave SA wash.
Step 2: The ordinary lactic acid 10% + HA
Step 3: Inkey list BHA
Step 4: Cerave SA cream (thick layer)
Step 5: E45 cream (pat over) as I find Cerave SA cream isn't moisturising enough for my skin
Step 6: Wrap arm in cling film
Step 7: Use humidifier (I don't often as I'm lazy)
Took around 3 weeks to see good results.
Hope this helps.
Oh thank you! You are a life saver
Do you use the AHA and BHA everyday?
I’ve tried so many different products but nothing seemed to work, I would wear long sleeves all the
time because it is my biggest insecurity. 😅
Is this safe when applied in the underarm?
Thanks again! Tomi
Hey hun thank you so so much for your lovely comments.. I totally agree with you that patience is ke=y when it comes to KP xx
Aww thank you so much for watching hun and for sharing your experiences with KP sending lots of love from the UK xx
Hey girl, I know this is a bit old but having it happen worse after each child seems like maybe a vitamin deficiency? It might help to have a look into your vitamin A and C levels (both linked to this issue)
MY BACK KP IS THE worst kp i've ever seen, it's so embarrasing, I really want to get rid of it, hope this work

Hey ..is hot water can make this situation worst??
as a teenager it’s really difficult to have any confidence with kp:( i have it on my arms and legs and i’m so insecure and embarrassed about it cause i have it really bad and i have tried everything and it doesn’t really go away
Bro I got it on my cheeks I can’t even hide it
I used to feel that way as a teenager too but now as an adult I don’t care about most of the things I was insecure about as a teenager!

Thank you so much!!! From one beauty executive to you babes… THANK YOU!!!❤
Thank you so much for the advice! I didn't know it was called KP and I had it since my teens on my legs. It wasn't too bad so I never got it looked at and never googled it. I thought my hair is just too weak to poke out of my skin...(I have very fine leg hair)
But I've tried:
1. hot shower, scrub it until the skin is red, use my nail or a needle to pick out the hair and heavy moisturiser... (don't do this...)
2. laser my non-existent leg hair off cos no hair no blockage... (It helps but not cheap)
3. No tight clothing over it (I don't think it works...)
Finally a straight forward video about this ! This was very useful thank you !
Aww thank you so so much for watching and i am so glad you found the video useful.. Sending lots of love xx
My daughter is 12 and she has it on her legs, arms and face. She won’t wear shorts or she won’t tie her hair so it covers her cheeks. Doctor said it’s skin condition and she has to get used to it. Thank you for your video xx
Poor baby, get her involved in physical activities. Please don’t allow her to be shy about it. Keep her confidence as high as possible.
Thank you for trying to help her out with this. My mom just forces me to wear short sleeve shirts to “help” with my insecurity lol.
Use fels naptha soap. It's a bar. Is in the grocery store in the laundry section. Its lye based and worked for me quick
Hey hun thank you so much for watching and thats a great question.. You apply it with your hands as its a little thick for a cotton round which soaks up too much of the product.. About 3 drops will be enough to cover the tops of the arms xx
Aww thank you so so much for sharing your tips and recommendation, I will check it out for sure xx

I do think mine is so bad because I’m so pale I think if I tan abit it would look better maybe🤷♀️

I posted upthread ... please patch test this first, Fels Naptha is a **very** harsh soap not intended for skin.
Could you pls do a video on underarms roughness, darkness, and your recommendations?

Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and I hope it works for you.. will you let me know what results you get? xx
@@MadAboutSkin Definitely but I am confused on what moisturizer to get because the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a hyaluronic acid moisturizer.
Thank you, I'm going to try this. My KP flares up in the summer.

(Sometimes less than 2x)
And the “CeraVe SA Cream” everyday after I shower & apply a generous amount. Lol

@@Hurricanetongue it didn't completely got rid of it coz mine is pretty bad but it does look much better now. I don't also expect it to clear it since it is a Vit A deficient so I need to fix my gut to heal it for good.
Omgggg this was such a god send video!😭😭 thank you sooooooo much!
Thank you so much for watching and i hope this works for you.. Sending you lots of love cxxx
Plz help 🙏
Hey hun! Love the video! Will be sending this to my boyfriend as he struggles with this down his arm xx
Hey hun, that's fantastic and i really hope it helps him.. Let me know what he thinks xx
I honestly didn't even care until I realized I could get rid of it really easy with the ordinary peeling solution. And I did that for the hyperpigmentation. Found out my kp disappeared too and then found out it was the best treatment for it.
I FINNALY WEAR T SHIRTS NOW AND THIS VID HELPED THANKS
I had too many in my arms but no more now. my secret is; I brushed my arms with a dry brush and than I took a shower and than glycolic acid tonner and coconut oil! this is just a magic! I have no chicken arm anymore Also my arms look so much better
Thanx for the remedy can u mention which glycolic acid toner u used.
@@hello-pc7ff You’re welcome, Istarted with Pixi glow tonic and I used the ordinary after pixi. Dry brushing- glycolic-coconut oil.
My doctor thinks it's allergies not kp, at a bit of a loss with it
the SA moisturiser from Cerave is great for KP!!
Hey hun thank you so much for sharing and I am so so glad its working for you.. Sending lots of love from the UK xx
Thanks for this. I will try it gently on my younger daughter. She’s 10
Thank you so so much for watching hun and I hope you are well.. sending love xxxxx
It’s odd that it goes away when I’m in a country that’s at sea level and comes back when I’m in a place of higher elevation.
Could be the higher UV at higher altitudes? Or drier air?
@@BooksMusicMe17 I did consider that could possibly be the case.
How are y’all blessed to have it on your arms and legs, my KP is all over my face and neck!!! Like I can’t cover this shit up! Curse my genetics mahn
You have no idea how helpful this video is. I’m gonna try everything you recommended and I’m so excited! Thank you so much!!!
Awww thank you so so much hun and sending you lots of love xxxx
Has it worked?
Any results?
I Have been trying to figure this out for years
i use the same thing and i’m only trying to get rid of the darker dots on my legs but i really don’t know what will get rid of them 😕
Hi Hun thank you so so much for watching and commenting and thats a great question.. Lactic acid will really help as it will exfoliate and remove the pigment over time so I would buy the ordinary one and add it to your body routine.. You will see results after using it for about 3 weeks.. Let me know what you think of it once you try it xx
@@MadAboutSkin Thank you so much for your response, I will try it!
This vdio helped me a lot.. also i read all the comments😋thanks for everyone❤️
Thanks!
I hope it helps your son.. love x
I always use Lush shower scrubs and put coconut oil on my skin afterwards... would you say that this is good or bad for it?
Hi hun I think this may risk making it worse.. scrubs will irritate the area and make it redder and coconut oil could clog the follicles.. I would switch to an exfoliating acid and then use a more lightweight moisturiser on top.. hope this helps xx
Ok, thank you!
@@MadAboutSkin hello, can I ask what exfoliator is the best?
Should I apply the exfoliant with a cotton ball or directly onto my skin?
You can use either whichever works best for you, I use cotton but its personal preference... sending you lots of love xxxxx
Thank you!

Hi hun you can reach me on Instagram @skinmad if you would like to send on there I can let you know what I think xx
Congratulations 🎉. Absolutely love all your content.
Thank you so so much hun and thank you for your love and support which means a lot to me xxxxx
I use palmers lotion , the regular one and the exfoliating one , (they make my skin smooth) would you say they’re okay to use?
Thanks for the video! Sorry if I missed this in the vid but how many times a day do you recommend using the Cerave cream, just in the evening?
Hi hun thank you so so much for watching and I would use it once a day xxxxx
I love how you give so many options ☺️
I think you missed an opportunity to discuss how nutrition relates to this condition as lack of vitamin C and A can cause it. 1 in 20 people are deficient in Vit C so this could apply to a significant number of your viewers. If it’s due to deficiency everything here is just treating symptoms that could be resolved with improving diet. Also, shaving actually *helps* as it exfoliates dead skin. I had noticed anecdotally for years that it always appeared better in the first days after shaving and looked worse as hair grows back. In general, ever since improving my diet + regular shaving, the bumps have disappeared considerably.
thank you!
@@me.shyann you’re welcome!
I have also KP in my both arms. So annoying, i'm worried about my skin. 😒
Im so sorry to hear this but I hope this routine helps hun... sending lots of love xxxx
Hey...I just wanted to know if moisturizing my skin with regular moisturizer will help even without using the chemical exfoliants?
Hey hun, it will do though I think the chemical exfoliants are the key to getting the best results.. Sending lots of love xx
@@MadAboutSkin thank you so much for the response ☺️
Is chemical peeling possible to remove to kp ?
I’m starting with using Glycolic Acid from TO on my arms... hopefully it will work since scrubbing didn’t help at alll. Thank you ✨
I hope it works for you hun and let me know how you get on xx
Did it work? Can someone tell me?
Hello dear. Is the ordinary lactic or SA better? Can i use any of that and use the cerave SA cream?
Hi i would recommend the SA as the best.. sending you lots of love xxx
