Love the new Omega Drift police project! I don’t know why but I feel like it should be called Derek, he needs those cats taken out, hot air intakes, slammed on some coil-overs and he’s ready for his first drift day
I had a V6 omega for a while. My dad bought it new in '94 and then I ended up buying it off a family member. Was as rusty as a pig but still super comfy. The V6 sounded alright too
Nice to see you guys taking great care stripping out the interior. The love and attention to detail you are displaying is self evident. Careful with the seated heats.
My dad had a blue '96 Omega 2.5 CDX Estate Auto for about 7 years. Amazing car, so many awesome memories. Mainly of electrical gremlins (the alarm going off whilst we were driving being a particular highlight) and the noise of the v6 when overtaking in 'sport mode' (I was young at the time!). It was also sooooo comfy!
I bought a 2.5 Elite auto. It had Xenons, Electric rear blind, a Bose stereo with integrated phone,(sim card went in the stereo 😂). And the best bit, Seated rear heats! We called it the Slomega! It went side ways....everywhere. So much fun for £375.00!!!
my dads got an omega and i drive it every now and again when he takes it out in the summer for car shows, its the 3.2l v6 elite version in juniper green which was a special order. I love it so much and the full leather interior is in great condition, from the same year I was born also so it's gonna stay with me my whole life I reckon once I get it from him.
Nice work! My dad had the 2.0 petrol estate. Not sure it had a speedo, more of a calender. But stick on "sports mode" and that thing revved the nuts off itself.
This brings back some memories, my dad had the auto with sport button and we thought it was the fastest thing on the road until the head gaskets went and he scraped it 😂
Loving the content Alex, probably not the first to say it but I kind of wish you concentrated on 1 car at a time but anyway, your doing what soo many of us dream of doing. Keep up the good work sir 👏
my childhood was spent around these. My dad had 3 over the years and 1 being the full 2.6 v6 with he full irmscher (if ive spelt it right) kit. It stood out from anything else on our street and was such a head turner yet felt like you was cruising in your armchair it was an awesome car
I am currently work on a MV6 restoration project. Three words, Leaks, Leaks and Leaks. If you have carefully stripped the interior carefully, you can probably make a profit selling those parts online 😂😂😂😂😂. If I bought another Omega. I probably will strip it and put one of those plug and play LS3 + Gearbox units in it 🤪
About 15yrs ago I had a signum V6 but unfortunately it was only fwd. Still made an awesome noise with an akb intake and straight through exhaust though.
Not sure if you gonna see this but V6 Omega has a really flat oil pan so after couple minutes of drifting the engine will be starved of oil and the rod bearings will be dead. Some people weld in metal walls in the pan so the oil won't swim from left to right. It would be a shame for this to die afer 10 minutes of drifting
Used to work for a car hire company when these were new. We had one V6 manual which was always great fun on wet roundabouts😂 It was a sad day when it was replaced with a 2.2 auto 4 cyl 😢
These were sold in America as Cadilac Catera's. If you want a Cadillac front end for this then I will do my best to find you one! I would love to see a wagon Catera since they were only sold as sedans here.
Just an idea….?….for a future AutoAlex project you might like to consider engineering a “sleeper” that aces the Rufford Ford at high tide - something mundane that gets totally submerged but chugs on through and out the other side….?….watch those Jeep boys weep…..things to consider might be air-intake from the passenger compartment and exhaust into the boot to prevent slurping up to much ford juice….periscope optional……someone will do it eventually, it might as well be you……you can swim can’t you?
I wouldn't ever imagine that an Opel Omega (Vauxhall Omega in this case) is RWD. This past winter I was looking for a RWD car to smash around, found a MB C230 (2.3 petrol), straight piped it, welded the diff and went on to have some fun in winter track
Love it 2 video ideas with an omega ive seen with Alex involved, prefer this one the car throttle one shouldn't of been abandoned. Love this could guess from when it was blurred it was an omega. Proper drift sleeper that is you wouldn't expect it unless you look inside.
Oil? All over the floor. Break fluid? Also on the floor Body rotten through and through. Naturally the first step to fix all of the above is.... welding the diff. Love you, please never change :_D

I see you were in Worcester.
I'm from taunton
Can u sell me all seats door cards £300
this is what happens without Rory's supervision
Good 😉
Was Rory on holiday?
Seated heats? That’s some extra 😂
Alex be lit burnin 🔥🔥🔥
4:56 😂
Was gonna say that 😅
Glad I’m not the only one that heard Taylor say that 😂
He says it every time. It’s a Taylor thing.
“It’s got seated heats!” I peed a little😂
They are the best ones 😂
Made me crease too😂
Haha but sadly stolen from the guys from throttle house 😂😂
@@worldofthemusic8074 do you not think it was just an accident😂
you didn't piss, your seated heats are on.
Love the new Omega Drift police project! I don’t know why but I feel like it should be called Derek, he needs those cats taken out, hot air intakes, slammed on some coil-overs and he’s ready for his first drift day
Absolutely a Derek mobile
Or turn it into another ute
Absolutely is a Derek for sure
I vote for Derek. It's got those Derek kind of vibes.
Hot air intake? 😂
Alex you are doing a banger job running your own independent channel.
I’m proud of you!
You absolute lads I went to school in Taunton so weird hearing you legends say a name I havent heard in 15 years. You just get better and better boys
I had a V6 omega for a while. My dad bought it new in '94 and then I ended up buying it off a family member. Was as rusty as a pig but still super comfy. The V6 sounded alright too
I genuinely can’t get enough of this channel it’s amazing- I’m currently binge watching all back episodes 😂
i cant help but tp hear alex saying Omega as Amiga.
Edit: LOL the exhaust makes almost as much smoke as the tires. that's fantastic.
Taylor adds such value to the channel!
I love this channel as you can actually afford some of the projects 😂
Where I live it costs money to get rid of the scrap... I can't afford both 😢
Autoalex uploads, I instantly like and watch it!
Nice to see you guys taking great care stripping out the interior. The love and attention to detail you are displaying is self evident. Careful with the seated heats.
One of those series where you improve it's track time every upgrade you do would be nice! Like that one on the E46 330 diesel...
Would be nice but since they’re building it for drifting I don’t think lap time will be focused on as much as the E46 was

Them seated heats sound like a good idea.

Thats why i like this channel, who else would do an video about an old rusty omega?
These v6 omegas make good drifty bois the long wheel base makes it very forgiving. Absolute bargain weld the diff and your be mint !
I’ve now watched the video, you welded the diff it’s now mint !
Here in Australia the Holden commodore based heavily of the omega is known for being wrapped around pole by people drifting for the first time
In germany we have opel omega
Did Taylor really say "its got seated heats"🤣🤣🤣
"V6 motorrr" never gets old... Thanks jezza
Absolutely hilarious 🤣 love these guys
The omega looks very much like a vx commodore wagon! But we got the 3.8 ecotec v6 here in Australia.
The potential is definitely there 👌
Let's be honest it is just a commy with a smaller engine haha

I love that floating glass back on the defender. I just saw a 90 on the motorway and it looked so good.
This brings back some memories, my dad had the auto with sport button and we thought it was the fastest thing on the road until the head gaskets went and he scraped it 😂

You should have done a before/after when you stripped the car, like 0-60 (or 0-30), plus a before/after weight
love the channel and looking forward to more of this kind of content

Where is that one guy saying: I didn't try this at home, I tried it at a workshop 😂
😂😂love the channel, always lightens up a weekend, cant wait for more content on this drift machine
Nice one :) I had one myself (Opel Omega), same engine, a joy to drive. Later on I bought a Omega B MV6 with a 3.2l V6. Nice memories :)
Great video Alex cant wait to see the m3 build 👍👍
4:55 "it's got seated heats" Taylor 2023
About 15yrs ago I had a signum V6 but unfortunately it was only fwd. Still made an awesome noise with an akb intake and straight through exhaust though.
I need Taylor’s glasses for professional reasons 😂
😂

What a missile 😂😂 we have these here in Australia too but called a Holden Commodore and they had a 3.8 V6 Buick in them. Plenty of fun when we were 18
Used to work for a car hire company when these were new. We had one V6 manual which was always great fun on wet roundabouts😂 It was a sad day when it was replaced with a 2.2 auto 4 cyl 😢
I have the granddad of the omega, an Opel senator a (Vauxhall Royal) with the big straight 6 engine. even with an open diff it slides like a champ.
You guys are just living our dreams ! real banger that one ! Keep up the good work :D
These were sold in America as Cadilac Catera's. If you want a Cadillac front end for this then I will do my best to find you one! I would love to see a wagon Catera since they were only sold as sedans here.
The road past Bristol... For someone from Estonia, I have taken that route many times too many.
We don’t deserve Taylor. But thank Alex, we’ve got him. What a diva. Love it!
That's the type of content we love to see :D
Love this vlog style video - Alex will be putting Rory out of a job soon 😅
Will always need Rory as he is a better version of me!
@@AutoalexCars you’re becoming the only expendable one on the channel 🤣
stick some cams in from the 3.0, it really helps with the 2.5 mid/top end range.
I wonder if a Commodore crossmember will fit it?
Look into getting a Saab b204 conversion…cheap and easy conversion. Nice 300bhp drift taxi
2:53 cheeky R36 Passat in top left, just thought i'd mention ;)
We need some videos where you actually start working on these cars!! Where’s the s2000 gone?

What were you guys up to in Worcester? Noticed you were at diglis basin when doing the car vertical bit

Yup. First car I ever slid round a roundabout in about 1997. Nothing more fun for a 23 year old than a hire car with a v6 and rwd. 😂
yeah theyre well known for being RWD. guy named mastermilo fitted tractor tires to the rear lol
@@chester597 is that the same guy that did the no suspension ford focus?
Think they were used for donor cars for kit car projects back in early 2000s. Cheap, RWD and the lack of technology made them easy to covert
@@bogdanrus9402 ya man haha
4:57 it got "seated heats" 😂😂👏
Gotta love Taylor from taylormadecars
"It's got seated heats" 04:57 🤣
I got my mk1 mx5 from Taunton, at 6’4 it was a very long drive back to Essex
That road trip just sparks joy
'I'm gonna get in trouble for this'... Those famous words that are only uttered as something truly amazing is about to happen... Good luck 🍀
Best channel on TH-cam currently
Love those big ol Omegas, top work lads 👏👏
" its got seated heats!!!" killed me a bit
Amazing, you guys need to be on TV, best youtube channel by far 👌👌👌👌
No one watches 'normal' TV anymore so I'd rather have them stay on YT
What’s the shirt with the red volvo (i think 240?) Alex is wearing when they pick up the car? I can’t find it on Petrolheart!
4:57 “It’s got SEATED heats” Haha!
I love that youre listening to hot chips "laid back" whislt the most upright and close to the wheel ive ever seen xD
Basically a Holden Commodore! Enjoy the mang machine boys 😎🤙
Got my AutoAlex 500 limited edition sticker in the post today🎉 straight on the car 🚙💨 packaging was signed too 🤙cheers Alex!
yeah man, i bought a 2.6 litre v6 omega sedan in january, its my dream car 😍
Alex, you and Taylor are great to watch I love the content, shit boxes rule!!!.
weld the back doors up, cut that roof off and make it into a Ute gets rid of a lot of heavy glass as well :D
You absolute madlads. This felt like a Mad Max episode.
Love it 2 video ideas with an omega ive seen with Alex involved, prefer this one the car throttle one shouldn't of been abandoned. Love this could guess from when it was blurred it was an omega. Proper drift sleeper that is you wouldn't expect it unless you look inside.
I had a 3.0 mv6 facelift saloon one of these. Sold it about 5/6 years ago. Wish i kept it.
Funny thing is, one of those garages houses my missus escort xr3i. Would have loved to show you 😭🤣
Just like the south coast 500 video for car throttle I love to see you guys down my neck of the woods
What CarPlay mmi box has Taylor got in that x5? Any good? I’m getting one this summer for my 6 series.
What an interesting purchase cant wait, on an unrelated note that diet is working Taylor! keep it up 😁
Taunton! Just half hour away from a visit to Chops Garage!
Holden Commodore wagon! Love it.
It’s a VT Holden Commodore with a different nose. LS1 will fit easily
id love to own a manual omega one day, a v6 one too. rare beasts
Good luck braking that engine. I have had 56 omegas. And I have driven like a lunatic. This v6 are bulletproof
GREAT VIDEO GUYS 👍👍CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU TAKE IT OUT THE GARAGE 👍👍
I'm gonna get in trouble for this! 😂😂
I cant believe you went to Taunton I live like 5 mins down the road and I didn't see you guys 😭😭🤣
In the USA they put a GM LS V8 in them (there is Cadillac Catera)...great car and a great idea for a drift car
i think the GM group sold that chassis in Australia as Holden Commodore eventually evolving into a Monaro and coming back to the UK as the VXR8
4:57 🤣"its got seated heats "
I was thinking a rover 75 or something like that, until I saw it was RWD. It is also an old man's car, even though the engine says different 😉
Oil? All over the floor.
Break fluid? Also on the floor
Body rotten through and through.
Naturally the first step to fix all of the above is.... welding the diff.
Love you, please never change :_D
The VT Holden commodore is based of the same car in aus.
Bit different but definitely the same shell
Wow that Defender of Rory's needs a review please. Its mint 👌
Excellent sounds and noises Guys.
Oh yessssss!!!!! I love it! I have 3 Omega's myself so bonuspoints from me!
I believe the Omega is based on the Holden Commodore which was built in Australia!
Other way around typical aussies copying everyone.
