Its is a hard thing to explain how much a car, a motorbike, or a even a pushbike can mean to people. I still have my push bike I used to go to school on, in my garage on the wall that my Mum & Dad bought for me over 40 years ago. Mum and Dad are gone but one thing I can say is that bike will never leave my ownership. I also have a few motorbikes that I purchased over the years some of which also will never be sold. @scootch1983 modern pre-PSA ones are quite reliable, surprisingly. A lot of the ones that had issues were fixed under warranty or past recalls and work well now.

Greetings from Antalya Turkey. I’ve been watching you for a very long time It feels like you are a friend of mine. One and a half year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. Actually when I heard the news I was in London visiting my sister. I heard about Shedfest and wanted to visit but treatments and all kept me from attending. This year again wanted to but, couldn’t for preparation for my wedding. About the cancer, I had an operation done and luckily I am now cancer free. Seeing you helping those in need is making my heart warm. Especially with all the negativity going in the world. Thanks guys. If any one of you happen to be in Antalya, you have a pint from me. I have a astra h vxr owned for almost 10 years and bought on around 50k miles it's now done 232k miles same engine and gearbox! And still pulls well. My most reliable car I've had and use everyday as a work horse!

Massively underrated car, I bought one a fair few years ago with a few simple mods, Remus exhaust, map, Eibach's and Compomotive wheels. Added a BBK and rear anti roll bar. It drove really well, was pretty damn quick and did 34mpg when not driven like a bell end. They're a bargain now
I get why people tend to hate on modern Vauxhalls, I’m not a fan of the style but having owned a few I can honestly say the Astra/zafira chassis is actually far better than it has any right to be. Probably the most fun car I’ve had was a £500 zafira a with everything behind the drivers seat stripped out to install an internal rack for my mountain bike, slammed on cheap coilovers and with big sticky tyres. I had so much fun with it, I actually really miss it
I bloody love you lot.!! You’re my replacement for Top Gear and the Grand Tour. I get proper excited when any of the Auto Alex, TDC and All The gear episodes alert. Keep up the good work Alex, you’re a genuine top bloke.
Try SAAB. They did the turbo tuning for vauxhall and other GM companies. My SAAB 9-5 Aero estate has a brute of an engine, super comfortable, reliable and drive well. With a re-map, a 3" down pipe and a higher pressure fuel regulator, 300bhp and 440NM is easy to achieve. Mine cost £3000 but you can get them for a lot less. Have a look at the 9-3 turbo X. A limited adition AWD 2.8 turbo v6. They aren't as Vauxhall as people think, especially the 9-5.
Opel did their own turbo tuning as well, the Z20LET/LER/LEH is all made by them. You are right, though, about Saab being essentially GM's go-to guys for turbo stuff. The 2.8 is just a Holden Alloytec that Saab strapped a twin scroll turbo on. Also, let us not forget about their 3.0 v6 with a turbo that was spun by only one bank of cylinders, probably for low-end grunt more than anything. The Opel Vectra OPC Concept from 2003 that was presented at the Assen motorshow, had a 1.9 diesel with sequential turbos and it made around 250 horsepower. Something tells me that those Russelsheim engineers took a trip to Trollhattan. Then, the italians saw it and asked if they could have it as well, since the 1.9 was originally made by Fiat Powertrain and GM wanted to use it as well, to replace the antique and unrefined 2.2 DTI. And that's how the only twin turbo 1.9 multijet variant is on 2 production cars: the Saab 9-3 and the Lancia Delta.
I have a Saab 93 aero V6 and it’s running 355hp, picked it up as a non runner for 2grand and have put it back on the road and it’s the best car you could get for anywhere under 6 grand, should see the looks on the faces of the m140i and golf r drivers when I smash them

Finally once not a BMW 🙏🏻.. I love opels, they are the only car brand I've owned 😅 but they deserve more love than they have.. Everybody frowns upon them but they are great cars and very cheap. Now I own a opel astra g coupe 2.0 turbo (basically older version of the engine this one has) and man let me tell you it's great!
All the fun & jokes are great but it's keeping this sentiment of always wanting to help fellow petrol heads, pulling out all the stops, at the core of the channels, is what will give you guys real longevity

i drove one a couple months ago, been spoiled with tesla's and their acceleration for a year or so, drove one of these and it made me fall in love with ICE cars again, really want one now, two points to note are the stem seals and the M32 gearbox that are known issues with the car, otherwise they're not too bad.
Remember getting undertaken by one about 10-12 years ago. White with the chequered flag on the boot. Was impressed. It sounded great and flew. Always quite liked them.

As an Australian if you don't like the Vauxhall VXR8 or Vauxhall Monaro I'm a be sad since they are pretty much renamed Holdens. Those v8s are so iconic even original Top Gear featured and loved them.
Im a life long Vauxhall fan, got 2 old corsa b’s, but the VXR age of cars really don’t float my boat, not until the Monaro came out… that is dream status far for me like this Astra is for this guy, amazing car!

I adore it and it's just bonkers to drive Highly underrated Realistically what you need to make these good handling 24mm FARB RARB by whiteline Poly Bush the whole lot B14 coilovers You've got a belter of a car for that! Go further with a brembo upgrade and slipdiff, exhaust and honestly they're quick enough Ome day when its been fully restored it should go to shedfest! ive also got 3 corsa vxrs including thenlowest miles clubsport known left so you could maybe say i have an addiction😂

It's nothing compared to this but I am coming out of a financially and emotionally controlling marriage and I bought my first car since leaving my wife last month and the love I have for it cannot be put into words. People like you or I know we have an unshakable belief that cars are living entities… You can develop a relationship with a car and that’s what non-car people don’t get… When something has foibles and won’t handle properly, that gives it a particularly human quality because it makes mistakes, and that’s how you can build a relationship with a car that other people won’t get.
that is the most human thing Jeremy Clarkson ever said. I have an A4, 2.0TFSI. My and my now wifes very first car. We knew it will be hard to keep it on the road within reason and budget. It was and still is very hard. BUT, this car has been with us, brought us a lot of places, maked us smile and cry, brought our first son home and we have so much memories and the most special thing is: we smiled through the whole journey, and we will continue to do it. Every car had a soul, but only the guy/gal like us can see and feel it.

For all the swearing and larking about, Alex and the guys constantly show that you are all such a kind, classy group of people, because you do so many things like this. An absolute amazing gesture. Ans somehow that Astra looks just right; definitely modded but not so much it looks ridiculous and the styling touches do work, down to the blue 'VXR' seat belts to match the colour. It's not my thing, but it does look really cool.

I have the Astra H VXR and I've had it for about 7 months now. Mine's at 290bhp and it's a 2010. I'll say it's cost me a fortune in maintenance, stuff goes wrong all the time, parts are expensive, however it's the most fun I've ever had in a car I've owned. Such a fun car to drive and I have no regrets buying it, although I know my bank account does.

9:15 what about the 2012-2017 M135i and the M140i? In-line 6 + twin scroll turbo, RWD and easy to modify. A hatchback that can make supercar numbers!

Try SAAB. They did the turbo tuning for vauxhall and other GM companies. My SAAB 9-5 Aero estate has a brute of an engine, super comfortable, reliable and drive well. With a re-map, a 3" down pipe and a higher pressure fuel regulator, 300bhp and 440NM is easy to achieve. Mine cost £3000 but you can get them for a lot less. Have a look at the 9-3 turbo X. A limited adition AWD 2.8 turbo v6. They aren't as Vauxhall as people think, especially the 9-5.
Opel did their own turbo tuning as well, the Z20LET/LER/LEH is all made by them. You are right, though, about Saab being essentially GM's go-to guys for turbo stuff. The 2.8 is just a Holden Alloytec that Saab strapped a twin scroll turbo on. Also, let us not forget about their 3.0 v6 with a turbo that was spun by only one bank of cylinders, probably for low-end grunt more than anything. The Opel Vectra OPC Concept from 2003 that was presented at the Assen motorshow, had a 1.9 diesel with sequential turbos and it made around 250 horsepower. Something tells me that those Russelsheim engineers took a trip to Trollhattan. Then, the italians saw it and asked if they could have it as well, since the 1.9 was originally made by Fiat Powertrain and GM wanted to use it as well, to replace the antique and unrefined 2.2 DTI. And that's how the only twin turbo 1.9 multijet variant is on 2 production cars: the Saab 9-3 and the Lancia Delta.
I have a Saab 93 aero V6 and it’s running 355hp, picked it up as a non runner for 2grand and have put it back on the road and it’s the best car you could get for anywhere under 6 grand, should see the looks on the faces of the m140i and golf r drivers when I smash them

Finally once not a BMW 🙏🏻.. I love opels, they are the only car brand I've owned 😅 but they deserve more love than they have.. Everybody frowns upon them but they are great cars and very cheap. Now I own a opel astra g coupe 2.0 turbo (basically older version of the engine this one has) and man let me tell you it's great!

i drove one a couple months ago, been spoiled with tesla's and their acceleration for a year or so, drove one of these and it made me fall in love with ICE cars again, really want one now, two points to note are the stem seals and the M32 gearbox that are known issues with the car, otherwise they're not too bad.
Remember getting undertaken by one about 10-12 years ago. White with the chequered flag on the boot. Was impressed. It sounded great and flew. Always quite liked them.

Im sp glad you guys are still going from the kast chamnel you came from till moe youve progressed so much and helped me through a lot and so many care im 25 started driving 2 years ago but i had a son recently and got a golf mk5 dsg 270bhp and someone crashed into me with the son in the car im waiting on the money coming back.to get a new car and when im down i always come to your videos to keep my mind occupied and off the subject would really love to meet you guys and pick some brains about engines and cars fingers crossed i get a decent car when the money comes in looking to get a bmw 320d upto 353d for whatever the insurance give me as the 352d is the dream car 😢
As an Australian if you don't like the Vauxhall VXR8 or Vauxhall Monaro I'm a be sad since they are pretty much renamed Holdens. Those v8s are so iconic even original Top Gear featured and loved them.
Im a life long Vauxhall fan, got 2 old corsa b’s, but the VXR age of cars really don’t float my boat, not until the Monaro came out… that is dream status far for me like this Astra is for this guy, amazing car!

It's amazing how much cars can mean to people.
It's nothing compared to this but I am coming out of a financially and emotionally controlling marriage and I bought my first car since leaving my wife last month and the love I have for it cannot be put into words. To other people It's just a piece of metal but to me it's freedom and the transition to being myself again.

I have an A4, 2.0TFSI. My and my now wifes very first car. We knew it will be hard to keep it on the road within reason and budget. It was and still is very hard. BUT, this car has been with us, brought us a lot of places, maked us smile and cry, brought our first son home and we have so much memories and the most special thing is: we smiled through the whole journey, and we will continue to do it. Every car had a soul, but only the guy/gal like us can see and feel it.
This is why we love you guys decent honest genuine guys with genuine compassion. We all follow this channel because we first and foremost like you all as people that's important. For all the swearing and larking about, Alex and the guys constantly show that you are all such a kind, classy group of people, because you do so many things like this. An absolute amazing gesture.
Ans somehow that Astra looks just right; definitely modded but not so much it looks ridiculous and the styling touches do work, down to the blue 'VXR' seat belts to match the colour. It's not my thing, but it does look really cool.

Get a Cobalt SS turbo and you have the same experience pretty much. Plasticky interior that will rattle at some point in its life time, good looks and a whole lot of fun when you press the go pedal.

Yes, do a Vauxhall/Opel challenge! Everyone starts off in a different cardinal point (Spain, Greece, Poland,…), find an Opel for three quid, register it and meet up at the Nürburgring or in Rüsselsheim. 😅 Opel ist so underrated imo.

I have the Astra H VXR and I've had it for about 7 months now. Mine's at 290bhp and it's a 2010.
I'll say it's cost me a fortune in maintenance, stuff goes wrong all the time, parts are expensive, however it's the most fun I've ever had in a car I've owned. Such a fun car to drive and I have no regrets buying it, although I know my bank account does.
Same here, 2 years and nothing but trouble but I can't think of a single car I'd rather own at the moment.
This is exactly what i love about Alex and the community he's built. Amazing work guys 👏
