A great video but it doesn't answer one thing: Do these TVs (I'm looking at the UQ91) have a 'wake up timer', so it can go from standyby to a TV channel, please? I have an existing Samsung that does, but their new ones don't,so this restricts which TV to buy next. Thanks.
I bought c2 55 inch 3 months, accessed almost allof the menu, but i didnt know i can access host diagnostic information from the remote, thanks a ton for this useful video
Great video - Thank You. We recently bought a 43LM63 (Made in Mexico - as we live in Honduras). I use a DNS Proxy Server to receive our U.S. programs here. This TV is giving me fits. On the 'country' setting, it does not have the U.S. as an option. And the 'other' selection does not allow the programming to get through. Is there a way to ADD the U.S. to the Country selection list?
Thank you. I doubt it though. It’s most likely set in firmware based on the country or region you bought it in. Maybe the service remote might help but can’t guarantee it. Never tried doing that, sorry.
I was able to find signal strength level in menu using this video when using antenna for broadcast tv. Go to settings, general, channels then select first drop down in channels without selecting it (just highlight it) and press number one on remote five times like he said in this video and then you can see the signal strength of selected channel....
3. No key (or menu option) to display the current video (and audio) data (resolution, HDR, Dolby Vision etc.) in every situation (including integrated apps as TH-cam, Netflix ...).
It is actually pretty easy for the sleep time all you do is you hold down the microphone and say sleep time however long you want and Bam it sets it for you. In fact with the sleep mode you're set to rounded numbers like 20 30 60 80 ect. But if you hold the microphone you can actually set it how you want 65 minutes 45 35 and you can also cancel sleep mode just by holding the microphone button and speaking into it. It's way easier and way faster than a sleep button and much more fine tunable
Just so people know, most of these menus work on most modern LG tvs, not just the OLEDs. I have a budget 65 inch lg tv I picked up from walmart and all of these worked except the last one
Hello! I have a lg 32 lq63006la hdr tv. For the Xbox series s console, it does not offer an hdr setting, instead it remains the sdr when I want to set it in the TV settings. Auto hdr is turned on in the xbox. Maybe there is a solution for this?
Hi, I don’t touch any HDR settings when playing my PS5. The TV auto selects the correct HDR mode. You shouldn’t need to change anything for your Xbox. HDR games will be auto detected by the TV.
Your model TV supports 4K and HDR. You shouldn’t have to change any settings. Make sure you are using the original or a good quality HDMI cable. The only settings you might need to change are on the console but I don’t have the Xbox so can’t check that for you. I don’t change any settings for gaming, the TV automatically displays HDR content.
The remote control does not have a button for CH List, so what would you recommend to do to change from one list of favorites to another and to switch from viewing satellite channels (satellite dish) to normal TV channels, each time you have to enter through the main menu and then open a myriad of entries? Whoever who made this television is the biggest incompetent in the world, I have had Philips, Hisense, Sony, and other brands but none of these had the bullshit that LG has. Thanks for your valuable comment on this matter.

Can only confirm the Host Diagnostics works on LG OLED CX (OLED65CX5LB - latest firmware) series(?) "Programmes Tuning & Settings" is under "Programmes" and not "General" > then the 1 x 5 presses, unless I'm doing it wrong none of the other "shortcuts" seem to work on the this model/series.

The problem is the TV will often default to the device that starts the quickest. And a cable TV box could take a couple of minutes to fire up. So not turning that box off, just leaving it on standby might work. I also have a video on how to set HDMI1 as the priority on start up. But again the TV might boot first to the app screen because it started quicker.
I’m in the US-my G2 does not show Programs in General menu. The C2 you used listed Programmes after Family settings. On my G2 Programs does not exist-is there another way to access the Host Diagnostics screen? Thanks
The C2 and G2 share the same processor and webOS version so the options should match. The only thing I can think of is to turn off any Intelligent modes which might make some menu options unavailable. Make sure your TV has the latest software/firmware downloaded. Failing that you could factory reset the TV and see if the default settings show the options you’re looking for. I actually update very little in my TV settings.
Thanks for the Vid. Since the remote control was featured, I want to whine about it's design. I have a c3 and it annoys the Hell out of me that the home button is right below the volume up/down. It is virtually impossible to change the volume in the dark without kicking it to Home....aaaarrrrrrgh! Love the pic though.
Thanks a lot. I own an older LG model and i usually switch off the screen while listening to music (youtube etc). I wonder if there is a way to pin the whole screen deactivation process on the settings quick menu as a shortcut for easy access, replacing a default existing shortcut. Thank you in advance for your response.
Thank you, you’re welcome. I believe there is a way to have it available on the quick access menu that pops up on the left (when the cog icon is pressed). I may post a video about this in a few days so stay tuned and I’ll show you how to do it.
All I care about is somehow TURNING OFF HDR from enabling. I for the life of me do not understand why it’s there all it does is make image dark and unwatchable on both the LED and OLED tvs we have.
@Neo Ex Machina can't you just customise the HDR settings to what you want then whenever HDR auto kicks in, it will be customised to what you want? I'm still only 3 weeks into my C2 and haven't done much in HDR yet. But what settings can't you customise in HDR mode that would stop you from customised HDR to your preferences?
Not sure that’s something that can be done as it comes from the source. Other than choosing to watch titles that aren’t HDR (HD and SDR only). Or streaming from a device that either doesn’t support HDR or lets you tweak the settings more. Changing the HDR picture settings might brighten the image somewhat. But I don’t think you can disable HDR on the TV itself.
Does the service remote not work (caution could invalidate warranty just accessing the menu)? I know there is module hdr "on" and "off" settings or similar which may be a way round it. Some streaming devices like the nvidia shield may work to keep sdr only on but I don't have it just may have read it. Maybe apple tv 4k has that but don't take my word for it.
Can't understand why you don't like it. Been watching some BBC iPlayer content* that triggers HLG HDR and the picture is just incredible. Details in dark blacks and piercing bright lights all at the same time. (* SAS Rogue Heroes and His Dark Materials S3)
LG’s website usually will say Minor bug fixes. Tech Giant had a TH-cam video of LG website saying update corrects voice recognition problem. That’s rare tho.
Do you know if I can see runtime? I ordered a new TV and I’d like to check to make sure it was never used before arriving to me, any idea how I could check that? Service menu?
The audio on bluetooth stereo system is very low for all OTT apps except TH-cam and DTH. I tried using tv speaker with bluetooth simultaneously option. It gets loud but there is significant delay even after the manual tuning option. The settings dont stay even after making delay to 0. Is there a fix for this ? I dont find any volume settings for any OTT app.
thk for the video. is it possible to install android pak on a LG WebOS TV? Also, is it possible to dissable the TV tuner (each time i switch on the TV, i have an error message because i don't use radio frequency tv, i use only internet TV)?
Hi, never tried to install Android pak? Third party apps can be installed via a USB drive if compatible. I don't think you could disable the TV tuner. The error message is probably because the TV is looking for a valid input on start up. Do you not have any HDMI devices connected? If you do you could set the HDMI port as priority on start up?
Thanks. I don’t know. Depends what version of webOS your TV has and if it’s compatible with the codes in the video. If none of them work then it isn’t.
lg c1 is the worst buy i have ever done. im now in "never buy anything lg again" where before i actually loved my lg phone. lg needs to kill its strangle hold on settings. and if those settings leave it open to exploit or user damage to tv, just have multiple messages saying this will void your warranty at those points. i feel hostage to it updating everyday to where eventually it will weaken all options to by far the most expensive tv i have ever bought. so what? im buying extra equipment to escape what this "smart" tv refuses to do? meh... if im on my deathbed and someone witnesses my last words, theyll probably be quite surprised to hear a mans last gasp to be "I ju-juust wished I could of turned off, that m-effin-n screensaver...." oh look, yesterdays forced update allows you to turn it off after looking for 6 secret menus researched on the internet!... great! ...oh! wait... todays forced update resets all options for that and locks you out of that...
Compared to the iron-grip Samsung has on Settings (many functions disabled via HDMI), and the unbelievably crass energy consumption warning popup (thanks to EU regulation) that pops up every single time picture mode is changed, LG is a god-send (apart from its useless pointer). Auto-update can be switched-off. If a TV, OS or app is working properly NEVER update.
No not at all. LG make the menus available for you to use and even discuss things like Hotel Mode on their website. Using the service remote and accessing the service menu might void your warranty.
It’s really tricky to open. It’s also possible that the feature has been changed or removed with updates LG send to the TV. It’s something I need to retest soon.
I have the C2 and my volume and channel changer buttons aren't working. They work on my Directv remote but not on the LG remote. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks
You’re probably referring to Dolby Vision content which is quite dark by nature. You could try changing the picture mode. But for me I tend to watch Netflix Dolby Vision content later in the evening. Not ideal but it’s just too dark to watch in a bright room.
LG G3 Magic remote does not appear to have a pause/play button (unlike earlier Magic Remotes)? So has anyone found a way to pause live TV using a USB stick as recorder. I do this on my 4 year old LG TV…. If this feature is not supported that IMO is a retrograde step…
@@TheReviewFella Maybe you can help me with another issue... I am using an ethernet cable for input. When I power up I get a message that indicates 'no input'. When I hit "Home", then it sees my input and everything works great. I can't find anything that allows me to select 'ethernet' as input. This is just an irritation but I would like to get it 'right'.
On my C1 if I go to All Settings, then General, then Network, I can turn off WiFi and the TV defaults to the plugged in Ethernet input. The other thing to note is that your TV might take a short while to gain an IP address from your internet provider and that’s why there is no immediate network connection. Mine takes a minute or so to connect to the internet on start up.
Thanks for that. Even money it's your second suggestion as "Network" shows "Connected to ethernet" and "WIFI off". But I did find a shade-tree but acceptable solution as I fool around with Arduino Microprocessors a bit so i installed one near the TV that reads the remote IR signals. When it sees the code for "Power on" I wait 3 seconds then send the IR "Home" command. Now I get the home screen in less than four seconds and other than a small grey box with "2-1" on the left and "DTV" and "NO INFORMATION" on the right side (no idea what any of that means), momentarily shows, I am getting pretty much what I wanted... power up and showing the home screen with a single button push on the remote. Again... thanks for responding.@@TheReviewFella
I was wondering how to verify the refresh rate so thanks for that. Sometimes I think new technology goes backwards though. On my previous LG LB6500, if you simply pressed the wheel on the magic remote just once, you could get resolution, refresh rate and the codecs used for the video and audio streams. I had hoped for the same thing on my new C4 but the standard menus only appear to show the incoming resolution on each HDMI input source.
It is much easier just to buy a cheap chinese remote which has subtitles button and many orher useful buttons like info button which are missing in LG's own remote.
@@TheReviewFella correction you must be using hdmi for it to work. I got it to work when doing that but on any other screen option it won’t access. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Hi and thanks. As far as I’m aware the LG OLEDs have a timer and can wake up from standby or go to sleep at times set by you. Check with the store before buying as I know the C and G range does. Not tested the UQ91.
@@TheReviewFella Thanks very much for the info. Since they're from Amazon, I could return them, given the timer function is only really essential in one of the three rooms they'll be in, but it would be useful wherever I put them. I tried looking in the manuals online, but they didn't even mention any sort of timer, as far as I could see.
Hello and thank you. It used to be under the TV Information menu but I think the only way you can now see it is via the hidden menu accessed by the LG service remote.
Yes, depending upon your region and remote... Hold down HOME and BACK for 5 secs or longer. It turns off some of the "magic" cursor functions. To restore the remote to default behavior send US$5.00 and a SASE to ... no, I'm kidding. Hold down HOME and SETTINGS for 5 secs or more to re-pair the remote to the TV with default settings. Tested on my US C2, yours may behave differently.
Hi. I've got some issues with wifi setting. My tv can't find any wifi while my advance wifi settings is on but when i press it suddenly the tv drop me out from the wifi connection. Please help me.
Very helpful video. I have 55”G1 and I’m not impressed with the sound delay. It’s way off and I can’t seem to find a way to fix it. Also, the sound is terrible. If you say loud explosions going on then everything else is drowned out. So if someone is speaking at the same time you can’t hear them until the explosions stop and then they are very loud and clear. It’s almost like the sound card has only one channel
Yes I've had a similar issue. You can try a sound bar which will often have a clear voice setting. Or change the TV sound mode from Standard to Clear Voice Pro (which is what I do), for the TV source. It's not perfect but does help.
I have a new OLED65C2PUA and understand there may be a setting in Hotel Mode to change the default HDMI port on power on (instead of the last port you were on when you powered off). I have not had sucess getting into Hotel mode on the newer TV. Any suggestions?

All of thoses codes don't work anymore since de the last update. Do you have a solution by any chance ?
I’ll need to do an updated video with the new location of hidden menus etc.
I tried to press green button 7 times on my lg c3 but nothing happened.
Is there another way to check the trasmission's refresh rate?
I’ll need to do an updated video and find the latest hidden menus.
My prolly is avi video files not working on lg oled c2 evo
Is there any website on the internet that describes what's new in Software Version? Thx
LG’s website should tell you this if you look at the software/firmware update page.
LG’s website usually will say Minor bug fixes. Tech Giant had a TH-cam video of LG website saying update corrects voice recognition problem. That’s rare tho.
Hello, how may i limit the volume of the loudspeaker of OLED55C16LA from 2021?
TNX
Yes you can do it in Hotel Mode. See my previous video for how to access Hotel Mode. I will post a video about limiting volume soon.
Sir Thank you
You’re welcome.
Do you know if I can see runtime? I ordered a new TV and I’d like to check to make sure it was never used before arriving to me, any idea how I could check that? Service menu?
I think it’s only in the service menu now.
If you go to Settings > Support > TV Information you can see the Total Power On Time which is what I think you're looking for.
very hlepful video. i have LG 43LJ550T...hlep open hotel mode..thanks
You’re welcome, thank you.
Anyone know how to set the default input, HMDI1, when TV turns on?
I’m about to post a video regarding this in a couple of days, so stay tuned if you’re still wanting the answer.
thk for the video. is it possible to install android pak on a LG WebOS TV? Also, is it possible to dissable the TV tuner (each time i switch on the TV, i have an error message because i don't use radio frequency tv, i use only internet TV)?
Hi, never tried to install Android pak? Third party apps can be installed via a USB drive if compatible. I don't think you could disable the TV tuner. The error message is probably because the TV is looking for a valid input on start up. Do you not have any HDMI devices connected? If you do you could set the HDMI port as priority on start up?
does the 1113111 work with a c3? because i couldn’t get it to work
I’ve yet to test that. The TV in the video is a C2.
I have Cricket mode in place of Sports mode in my C2.
That must be a new update. I’m stumped.
I want to turn off the screen saver as want to keep the tv on continuously please help..
I’m not sure you can turn it off completely as it’s part of the built in screen protection features.
Great video but how can I do any of this on LG OLED65 B7 ?
Thanks. I don’t know. Depends what version of webOS your TV has and if it’s compatible with the codes in the video. If none of them work then it isn’t.
awesome mate, i loved the quick menu, set the 2 button to youtube app, lovely, can directly access youtube with 1 button.
Cool, thanks
Do you know if there is a audio setting you can use eARC for the soundbar and the optical output to my receiver at the same time ?
I’m sorry I don’t. Hopefully someone from the community can answer this for you better than I can.
@@TheReviewFella ok thx for the reply anyway.
@DannyBroerse You should pick up an audio extractor for that
Thanks a lot for the tips.. You sound like the studio version of the body builder TV reviewer😊

lg c1 is the worst buy i have ever done. im now in "never buy anything lg again" where before i actually loved my lg phone. lg needs to kill its strangle hold on settings. and if those settings leave it open to exploit or user damage to tv, just have multiple messages saying this will void your warranty at those points. i feel hostage to it updating everyday to where eventually it will weaken all options to by far the most expensive tv i have ever bought. so what? im buying extra equipment to escape what this "smart" tv refuses to do? meh... if im on my deathbed and someone witnesses my last words, theyll probably be quite surprised to hear a mans last gasp to be "I ju-juust wished I could of turned off, that m-effin-n screensaver...." oh look, yesterdays forced update allows you to turn it off after looking for 6 secret menus researched on the internet!... great! ...oh! wait... todays forced update resets all options for that and locks you out of that...
Ooooo… k? I love my C1. The end.
Won't this break the warranty permanently?
No not at all. LG make the menus available for you to use and even discuss things like Hotel Mode on their website. Using the service remote and accessing the service menu might void your warranty.
Is there any option to disable for good bluetooth on LG Oled C2?
I couldn’t find one in the normal menu. It may be needed for the Magic Remote. The only place I can think is the service menu.
@@TheReviewFella I was trying to find in service mode but I didn’t find that option..
@@BiblijneChrześcijaństwo Did you ever figure out a way to disable BT?
@@TheReviewFella Did you by chance check the service menu to see if bluetooth can be disabled?
I have a hard time trying to get to hotel mode to limit our maximum volume. I did it once but unable to do it again for whatever reason.
It’s really tricky to open. It’s also possible that the feature has been changed or removed with updates LG send to the TV. It’s something I need to retest soon.
F the C2 get the C1. It's a better TV. C2 is like 3 nits higher on a 100% window.
I do love my 65 inch C1.
@@TheReviewFellaI dont have the Programme option in my C1 menu what do I do?
I have the C2 and my volume and channel changer buttons aren't working. They work on my Directv remote but not on the LG remote. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks
Not heard of that. I’d be tempted to factory reset the TV to go through setup again. Failing that contact the store if it’s under warranty or LG.
@@TheReviewFella Thank you
Does anyone know what adjustments to make while watching Netflix? It is always vet dark.
You’re probably referring to Dolby Vision content which is quite dark by nature. You could try changing the picture mode. But for me I tend to watch Netflix Dolby Vision content later in the evening. Not ideal but it’s just too dark to watch in a bright room.
Settings, AI Service, AI Brightness Control.
I saw a video about this here on TH-cam about settings on LG.
What is the video/pics you are playing on the tv? Just amazing..
I think they were LG 4K demo videos from TH-cam.
LG G3 Magic remote does not appear to have a pause/play button (unlike earlier Magic Remotes)? So has anyone found a way to pause live TV using a USB stick as recorder. I do this on my 4 year old LG TV…. If this feature is not supported that IMO is a retrograde step…
The triple tap mute button menu doesn’t work on mine
This was tested on the C1 and C2 (EU model). It might be a region specific thing if you can’t get it (if you’re outside of the UK/EU)?
Things you shouldn't do on an OLED ☝️ no doubt
Some useful options and you can’t do any harm really. I’d keep out of the service menu though, unless you know what you’re doing.
I hope they have secret menu for scree rotation too
Was hoping to find this
Can be accessed only theough service remote
Does the 11113111 code work with lg tv 55uj630v?
I’m not familiar with that model.
Thanks... I have been wanting to get rid of the TUBI ad on power on my new LG TV but didn't know if I could.
You’re welcome.
Great. Thanks for the update.
Hello i am looking for the multi screen butten it is not in the setting
Which model is your TV? It should be under Settings then Multiview.
@@TheReviewFella i dont have multi view unfortunately. 0LED65BXPTA.AAUQLJD
Previous channel button would have been nice. And simple.
There's a channel up and down button. But you mean the option to return to the last channel watched by pressing a button?
@@TheReviewFella yes, exactly yes,
Any idea why absolutely none of these would work on my remote/tv?
Depends on your model and OS version. It’s been tested on the C and G ranges of TVs.
Doesn’t work anymore to open secret hdmi signal override
Thanks for the info.
@@TheReviewFella correction you must be using hdmi for it to work. I got it to work when doing that but on any other screen option it won’t access. Sorry for the misunderstanding
No problem, thanks for taking the time to comment.
Is there any why I can increase the defaulf refresh rate ? The TV seems to have a little lag while playing Netflix/Amazon. TIA.
A great video but it doesn't answer one thing: Do these TVs (I'm looking at the UQ91) have a 'wake up timer', so it can go from standyby to a TV channel, please? I have an existing Samsung that does, but their new ones don't,so this restricts which TV to buy next. Thanks.
@@DVDfeverGames yes it does, i have one :) its in the settings :)

How can I use my pictures as screen saver in the LG oled TV
Can you turn off the wand cursor? It drives me mad.
I don’t think it can be completely disabled. You can temporarily disable it by pressing the direction pad left or right.
Thanks for the info.

The video relates to LG TVs not iPhone.
Can you make the tv brighter in that menu? For SDR

It will certainly improve the look of SDR gaming. Not tried it with general SDR content.
