I made a long opaque box with plastic and duct tape, cut a hole big enough to fit a blowdryer in one end, and angled it with the blow dryer lower than the the other end so the heat will rise, put a roughed out green bow stave in it and just let the blow dryer run for a day or 2. Check and flip the stave a few times a day
Why why do they have videos that are making a survival bow in less than an hour with a knife. Patience I believe is the bowyers good friend. Being able to put a bow down n pick up at a different time is a virtue.
J R's Place I do have some small pieces of that, but then again, I only work on saplings really so I’m guessing drying isn’t really my main concern. Also, the sun is so strong here that it will melt through plastic in a month or two.
You should try smoking it.. I'm new to this but is a good video "make a 170 fps bow in 3 days" and he swears by smoking the wood and then fire treating it I'm gunna try it myself..
Hi Richard, I've smoked them to make them water resistant, and fire treating definitely has it's place. Yes, you should try it because it works. Thank you.

Now I just have to find a piece of glass I haven’t knapped yet...
Hi Ryan, What about clear plastic? Like a greenhouse.

I wander if clear acrylic tube would work, you can get 4" tubes i think. tho it might melt too.
It would certainly be worth an experiment. Good idea.
