Your Blues. Hi there, yes she is so promising, absolutely wonderful. Just would like to add attention to juliaplaysgroove as well. She is also from Poland and is just amazing. So check her out as well! Best regards.
Russian to English via Google translate: Kinga Glyk is 20 years old, and she has played more than 100 concerts in Poland and abroad. In the Jazz Top and Blues Top polls, Kinga was nominated in the categories "A New Hope", "Bass Guitar" and "Discovery of the Year".
When I heard "hope" I was floored. It's amazing to see someone in their early 20's have a deep appreciation for life and understand its fleeting nature so well.
This is truly what music is about. Creating wonderful colours and soundscapes. Played by 3 incredibly gifted musicians. At times the images painted by the music bought tears to my eyes. Oh to have been there.
Yeah. her dad is an outstaning drummer as well as allaround musician, and a hell of an improviser. I heard him won the Jazz Improvisation Contest. Still remember what he played... Kinia rules, anyway.
The Buddhist world is a wheel that keeps on turning. Kinga is the favorite daughter I never had. Long after I'm gone, the living will appreciate Kinga. Peace. Awesome.Awesome.
This band is phenomenal. Not only Kinga is outstanding, but also her brother Irek on drums and the pianist / keyboarder Rafal Stepien. And they still are very young ... 🙏👌
Excellent performance. I especially like that you mentioned Jesus and how much of an importance he is in your life and is not a religion either but about the connection with him. God bless you Kinga and keep up the great work!
I haven't been into jazz very much these past few years. This performance is a major exception. Loved it all but Hope (and her words) touched me deeply. So beautiful.
This is such an awesome band. They are all so talented. I love Irek's drumming. But what I really love is that Kinga is a Christian and openly confesses Jesus as her Redeemer. Yes! Amen! Me too!
Firstly how did 182 people dislike ? I have watched this performance 3 times already. All 3 are excellent and share a great understanding. As a bass player Kinga's tone, time and phrasing are so impressive. I love her playing.
Hey Luke dont be dismayed..not everyone loves jazz or parts thereof and I understand that..its an acquired taste I believe this 3 piece is totally out of this world...I'm a keyboard player and I sometimes can't understand why people don't like this shit because I just melt when I listen to this stuff...but we all have our likes and dislikes.... Excellent performance by Kinga and her Dad and Rafal Stepien on piano! The song DREAM is one of my best jazz song ever! It sounds to me like one day AVISHAI COHEN should play that song with you......
Yes, she's from Poland. Her brother on drums also is phenomenal. And the pianist Rafal Stepien ... everybody achieves true world class. I am thrilled, how everybody is reacting on each other. These wonderful musicians still are quite young and still might be bringing wonderful music into this world for a long time. 🥰🙏👌
Although I'm a classic & jazz pianist myself, I like when the pianist here plays more in the background. :))) Kinga´s tone and improvisations are just so great to hear... can't get enough.
Wow! Kinga is awesome! I had not heard of her until I stumbled acoss this tonight, and I am now her newest biggest fan. The spirits of Mingus and Pastorius surely smile whenever this young woman bends a note. Hope you come play in America and my hometown of San Francisco someday, Kinga!
That first organ solo was not only virtuous but so full of Gospel and passion. "Hope" is such a touching composition... I see a whole story like watching a movie. Daaaamn, so much talent! Was not familiar with this artist, but am now a fan. Great music invites you in, and that's exactly how I felt. That Groove is deep, and wanted to say thanks for posting this video!
The last live-concert I heard before the lockdown was Kinga Głyk. At that moment I wasn't aware it would be the last one for a long time. But at least it was a geeat concert. Let's hope, we can go back to live-concerts soon. Kinga is great and so is her band. ⭐
I might be obsessed (because of my roots) with hearing those "Polish" notes in every bar of your tunes (especially in the "Hope") but, I couldn't help it, as the *"Hope"* was evolving, I had tears building up in my eyes until I could not hold them back anymore. Thank you Kinga, and the rest of the trio for reminding me who I am, and where I came from. Listening to your magical performance was one of those life saving experiences. I guess, the response of the crowd just proved my point P.S. One Thumb UP that Y.T. allows is not enough for me to express my gratitude for your art. Let me put it in this simplistic way: This was something like: Chopin meets Leszek Mozdzer + Marcus Miller (Unlimited) + Jack DeJohnette (The Slavic way)... I better shut up now Lol... 🐳 ~ ஜ۩۞۩ஜ ~ 🐳
Then I have just the music that I guarantee will bring some emotion....search for 'juliaplaysgroove mikromusic bo mi' I hope you will enjoy it. Julia is also from Poland.
Hatte vorgestern das große Glück und Vergnügen, dieser Formation lauschen zu dürfen.Da sollte man keinen besonders hervorheben, das war ganz große Unterhaltung auf höchsten Niveau von allen Dreien....
She makes excellent use of that Gibson SG-style bass! It's even got a little bit of a "stand-up bass" sound to it. You almost NEVER see jazz players using that kind of bass, but after hearing her sound in this video I really wonder why. The sound fits SO WELL with the acoustic piano and drums of a classic jazz trio.
Stanley Clarke started out his electric career on a Gibson short scale. Then he met some folks from Alembic and the rest is history. Word is they said "You play great, but your sound sucks. Try this!" It's also worth checking out early Steve Swallow, who also played a Gibson.
God is a God of love. But he is also a God of righteousness. Justice without love is empty. And love without righteousness is dangerous and blind. You can´t pick out just sth you don´t like about somebody and hide everything else of him. John 3,16-21: ´´For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.´´
God is righteous. So are the words in your quotation. God loved first, but humans sin and hate his commandments. So it wouldn´t be justice if men dont see their punishment, when they do evil. Look what has happened before this quote. Ezekiel 8,17.18: ´´Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it too light a thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations that they commit here, that they should fill the land with violence and provoke me still further to anger? Behold, they put the branch to their nose. Therefore I will act in wrath. My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. And though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”´´ That was the sad consequence of unending brutish sin. Do you think it would be fair, if God let them do what they want? Are you serious? If there is hunger, crime and abuse, they say Good is evil because he doesn´t creates justice yet. And if he judges, they say he is evil because he punishes sin! At the latest when the end has come God will raise equity. ´´Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned´ - Mark 16.16
Great music and Kinga is a great bass player, she has already played with Marcus Miller that says it all really,i love the funky sound of her music. And a big thanks to her brother as sound engineer, this concert really has great sound. The concert is not overly compressed, good dynamics, this is why most of the music i play nowadays is either youtube concerts, blu ray concerts or old albums before they started to overly compress the dynamics. This concerts sounds a lot better even than many brand new Cd`s.Thats what i love with concerts that they dont compress the dynamics so much,it actually sounds great on a good stereo with multi subwoofers. :)
OMG I forgot her name but I found her once more .Her trio is solid .Great bass player and sit back and just listen .PS the drum sound is awesome also .
