Was ihre Berufswahl angeht, hat sie eine absolut griffige Erklärung parat. „Ich kann nicht so gut singen, deshalb spiele ich Bass“, sagt Kinga Glyk. Und wie die Polin, hineingeboren in eine durch und und durch musikalische Familie, das macht, ist famos. Kinga Glyk, Mitte 20, rückt die vier Saiten in den Mittelpunkt, spielt sie zugleich virtuos, lässig und leicht. Und zeigt dabei furios, dass die Bassgitarre auch als Melodieinstrument taugt: „Mein Instrument ist meine Stimme. Und wer mich einmal live gesehen hat, der versteht das“.

OMG whata music!
Oh wow, Kinga came out on stage and she looked so different from her normal casual. But the sound is still pure Kinga!!! Fantastic performance.
Tight band, great groove 🤘🤘 I like this side of fusion better than the usual playing contest in many US bands, although there is still plenty of fiery soloing
As a drummer myself, I was impressed by the interplay between Ginka's bass and drummer's tight, skillful polyphony 🏆

I do not tink so. Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter and the one and only Jaco Pastorius, are still to be beaten. Then Jaco's touch on the strings of his fretless and unbeatable mate. This is telling you from someone who has been listening to Contemporary Jazz for more than 30 years.

This brings back a memory of the Weather Report in 1979 concert at Berkeley Greek Theater, California. RIP Jaco Pastorius.

And also the aerophone is more similar to a keyboard; much better when she play soprano saxophone.
The bass sounds very different though; it is not fretless.

Weather Report have no guitar mate, 50 years ago. Kinga is also more funky then contemporary jazz.

Mmhh, sound is good and general good playing from everybody (especially the drums), but I dunno why, it just does not touch me. I find it a bit boring.

Fusion music always makes ppl sleep….but most ppl won’t say it out loud…….those keyboard players, sax player or guitarist just all the same, barely pop out !
Try Munir Hossn, Hiatus Kaiyote and Richard Bona if u don't already know them... Original is always better than the copy!

At the risk of pissing off someone... the sound of that bass is awful, all mid and trebles, no body...jesus... I noticed the same thing in her other videos, so it's not an accident, it's her choice. Personally, that disturbs me. Sorry. Music is great though.
