- In this video, I dive into the latest Vectric version 12 release with a focus on the new Keep Out Zone Manager! This innovative feature is a game-changer for CNC router users, designed to prevent damaging your CNC router bits by ensuring they avoid clamps, screws, and other obstructions.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to effectively use the Keep Out Zone Manager, it’s best practices and what it cannot do. You'll see how to create zones within your designs that automatically reroute toolpaths, ensuring your CNC projects and bits are safe from unintended collisions.
I will also cover some other new features in the version 12 release that makes the new Vectric release batter than older versions.
Keep out zone manager is available in in the PRO versions of the the Vectric design software, but not available in Cut2D desktop or Vcarve desktop.

Thanks for the update Garrett.
drkline69, you are so welcome my friend.
Absolutely love this new feature! Thanks for the video.
brianwade8481, you are so welcome my friend.
Very nice tutorial Mr. Homme. I noticed that the "keep out zones" are only a 2D configuration. At some point Vectric might include the 3rd dimension for "keep out zones." Some CAM programs can jump over the obstacles if the machine is capable of doing that. Subject to what distance your Z axis can retract up to of course. Nice presentation you did. Thanks.
richardwilliams5520, Thank you for your kind words! Yes, you're right that some CAM programs can jump over obstacles if the machine allows it. Adding a 3D configuration for "keep out zones" could definitely be a useful feature in the future. Glad you enjoyed the presentation!
very nice episod Garrett, THX.
vickypadam929, you are so welcome my friend.
That is flipping awesome,,,, great information Garrett,,,, keep it up,,, Dang nab it man!!!!!
stevecox552, right on brother! Ill keep at it.
Thank you for sharing. Enjoying your videos.
nancej100, you are so welcome my friend.
I think that rectangle around the non-rectangular keep out zone is a bounding box. The concept of the bounding box is important in a number of areas, so if this is a bounding box, It would be good to introduce the term.
thomasgrim1549, good call brother! Ill be sure to use that terminology from now on.
Thank you for the information Garrett 🎉🎉🎉🎉
RAcreativewoodworks, you are so welcome my friend.
Great tips
chriskennedy2524, glad to hear it brother! happy CNCing.
cheers Garrett 👍
TheSuperheimwerker, happy to hear you liked this one my friend.
What would be really cool would be to have a camera like lightburn, then making a keep out zone would really pay off
mwinn2009, that would be very cool brother! I like that idea.
what is the replacement for control z to undo previous action now that I've upgraded to v12?
Control z still functions as normal. No replacement

user-vn6hi2bi3g, I recommend making a post on the CNC Entrepreneurs Facebook page here →facebook.com/groups/cncentrepreneurs. There's a ton of really helpful CNC brothers and sisters on there that will probably have some great tips for you!
