Dear Doctor, I am a pediatric specialist who graduated from Yonsei University School of Medicine in South Korea. While I understand that my university is accredited by the World Health Organization, it is not listed among the 8 approved jurisdictions recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. I completed a 12-month internship and 36 months of residency training in pediatrics in my home country, and I have been running my own pediatric clinic for the past 4 years. I am now interested in moving to Canada to practice medicine but am unable to afford redoing a residency program. Could you please advise me on the best pathway to take in order to pursue my medical career in Canada under these circumstances? Thank you for your time and guidance.
Hi there Sorry for late response . Past few hectic months; There is a path called the practice ready essessments and if you qualify you will be able to practice as a pediatrician here. However, you must sit and pass the MCCQE1 exam. here are the video links for you to watch ; th-cam.com/video/5OPiKT0_QD4/w-d-xo.html. th-cam.com/video/0b2yaErCNRs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your Beautiful and motivating videos. We can work in Canada with Arab board and Saudi board of general surgery with experience more than 16 years or no Please how do we start?
Yes you. I know of a candidate working as associate physician now that world in Dubai for many years and she is soon going to do a short residency program called PRA to be comme family doctor. You can work as associate physician in surgery. otherwise tou have to do residency again to become a surgeon here.
Is there a chance that an Orthopaedic Surgeon trained in Africa with years of experience could get a chance for some sort of fellowship in Orthopaedics in Canada
Yes, everything is possible depending on how good you apply and how serious you are. many rejects you will get but there will that 1 positive response that will change everything for you. be psychologically prepared for the rejects but do not het discouraged.
Hello dr, yes you get paid during the PRA as a consultant physician based on the salary that you will agree with the particular hospital accepting to take on you as a candidate. For EMD, it is possible. All you need to do is find a program/ mentor that believe n you and is willing to take on that responsibility with you. Let me know if this helped. Hello, Thank you for very informative Video, I'm IMG and have no any specialty residency training from back home. I'm keen interested to go through via PRA pathway. So, I'm planning to go back home and complete 24 months residency training in FM and then come back here. So, my question is after successfully completed all requirements of specific provincial requirement for PRA what are chances of getting selected? is there any specific seats reserved for PRA category. Thank you.
Best of luck! Yes, PRA is for IMGs. anyone trained out of North America. So yes, all the spots in FM are open for you if you meet all the criteria. aim for a high score in the MCCQE1 test
Hello doc!! I got my Canadian PR! And now want to know whether i can get a job in any province in Canada, i have no Canadian experience as such but have 4 years of experience in my home country!
Hi, of course you can get a job in any province except you came through a PNP, then you will have to spend at least 2 years in the province that nominated you. Apart from that, you are free to get a job anywhere in Canada.
@@dr.imgabroad1824 Well I am a doctor in India and looking to be a physician in Canada. I have done MBBS and have 4 years of experience, so i want to know about the programs that i can apply to and also about PRA program to become a physician without giving mccqe

I am a fresh medical graduate with zero internship experience. Yes, but you'll need to apply for a program and get accepted as a fellow and given you have zero experience, it can be tough but not impossible. You will need to apply for work permit through that particular program that will invite you.

This is not true. 8-15 years is NOT correct. It takes 2-3 years to match and start PGY1-2 in canada as an IMG. All those stories you hear out there are just to discourage people who are trying hard to work and meet their dreams. I encourage you and I can tell you that you only need to pass the MCCQE1 and NACOSCE and you are ready for CArms. Then you will need Language too if your not from a native English country. Study times fro these exams usually 3-4Months for QE1 and 3Months for NAC.
@@dr.imgabroad1824 most doctors who are getting matched are already pg trained in home countries with experience and getting family medicine. The PRO of Ontario requires that "Applicants must hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency" , so it's not fit to what we persue
Yeah but with a worker visa, you can perform non clinical work or paraclinical
Why make a video that is based on links and not give links Dr ?
