There is a kit though that uses the correct parts to convert your center console/armrest, to a German spec functional unit, with the accessible storage underneath.

We really need the Akrapovic exhaust as an option in the US! VW should know that a lot of American Golf R buyers wouldn't hesitate to option the Akrapovic.
In US about 42K , pretty much in the zone (price wise) with WRX Sti , Focus RS .... Nice sound , great interior and looks like a normal Golf , definitely on my list....
Only thing missing on this car I'd say was the Recaro Wingback Bucket seats, if only... :( They did it for the Clubsport so I don't know why they did not offer that option for the R7

The pops and crackles are a new thing on the 7.5R and face-lift S3 - with or without the akropavic exhaust. Was a good decision by VW to enable them in the Ecu.
