I can relate to having to translate for parents in the hospital. It never helped that my parent didn't know what I was saying in English or Spanish because they never went to school. When it was something minor, I would say "Dice el doctor que te vas a morir." My parent would say, "Preguntale cuando." And I would say, "En cuarenta o cincuenta anos." That's right, without the tilde.

Funny guy. I recognized him while I was serving tables at a vegan Restaurant in San Francisco and he was cool about it.

I remember my friend brought tequila to school in a water bottle. I was sick and wanted water. So i just dranked from the bottle. I told her that shit ain't water. She just laughed, I didn't say anything to the teacher. After lonche my teacher sent me to the principal's office. My friend was sitting out side she keeped saying sorry. I was sent home because my friend told on me for drinking from her bottle. When I went home my dad sat next to me and put a big bottle of tequila on the table and said "a si pen.... aora te tomas toda esta botella y no te pares asta que te la acaves". I was like I just wanted water.
