Heffer is a very good writer. I have enjoyed hundreds of his pages. I don't always finish every long history that I start reading, but I know that I am always in good hands with Heffer!

As much as I loved Mr Heffer's deliciously pedantic Strictly English, I have to be honest about his corpulence. I wish I could ignore it but his gaspings for air between almost every sentence makes any observer a diabolical foreteller of his demise.
