    As you know, there are a lot of TH-cam channels offering recommendations for men. This one is THE best.

    • @jollyyellow

      Agreed. Too many channels out there give advice to men based on getting men to do more or be better for other people. At the end of the day a man has to look out for himself because ultimately no one else will. What good is a man to anyone else if he is no good to himself?

    • @mariasmith2198

      Shouldn't you rename this "How to be seriously soy in 16 easy steps"? This is the most judgy video I have ever seen. Practice what you preach. EVERYONE laughs at other people sometimes. Because ITS FUNNY. Its OK to expect other people to have coping skills and not be sensitive. And confident men are supposed to be competitive, and keep the pecking order clear. Everyone needs to know who the leader, and who the follower is in every situation. That's the best way to get things done. No one wants to be around someone that is constantly rude.....but no one is going to stand for such a total milk toast either.

    One thing confident men NEVER DO is brag about sexual exploits to make themselves look good. Especially when they use the fact they are cheating on their spouse to make themselves seem more attractive, virile, and powerful. Doing this sends the message to others you are untrustworthy and disrespectful of others for two reasons. First you don't respect people in your life who are supposed to be the most important to you, be lying and going behind their back thus breaking an important commitment you made with them when you became their spouse.. Secondly, you show others you are unable to keep the intimate details about your life private. This shows people you may not be able to keep other important things to yourself either. To me men that do this are not gentlemen at all.

    A successful man who was a corporate manager at a company I worked for told me that he viewed himself as the least important person in the room.
    At the time it made no sense to me considering his position of authority.
    But after working with him I learned the wisdom in this:
    He valued the opinions of others.
    He wasn't afraid to admit he needed help or that he did not have all the answers and would seek answers and solutions from others.
    He was humble.
    He was not greedy with his knowledge.
    He built up others and by improving them, he improved the entire team.
    And most importantly, he only asserted his authority when necessary and never in a demeaning manner.
    After developing this mindset and attitude, I was quickly promoted in the company.

    The style suggestions from this channel have been great, and very helpful. I live in the woods so formal dress is not often called for, but when it is, I feel better prepared to navigate it. That being said, in this video, there are are more general descriptions of how to be a gentleman - and also a good person. It really resonated. Hard to elaborate more, but I wish all of us could act this way. I am aspiring to it.

    Great video!! I also think confident men are happy for others that are more successful/fortunate than themselves. I think jealousy and downplaying others success (like they didn't earn it) speaks volumes to your insecurity and lack of character.

    Thank you for pointing out that you should dress how you feel comfortable. I like dressing up a bit, my girlfriend doesn't. She always comments when we go out that she feels under dressed when we go out, because I'm usually wearing a vest or blazer (I live in Texas and it gets way too hot to wear a jacket unless I need to), and she's wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt. I try to tell her that we are both dressed in ways that make us happy, and that's ok. I don't make her dress up unless it's a formal occasion (wedding, funeral, black tie). It's totally fine to dress how you feel comfortable, unless it's an occasion that requires formal attire.

    I am a confident man and confirm all this man just said to be 100% true. BTW I loved the detail you made about sharing all that financial stuff with your wife (and overall respect in a relationship) that is something a decent man does. Many men don't. And it saddens me. Great video. Loved watching it!

    Well done - and continued Success!

    This video surprised me. I *love* this video.
    It praises and encourages healthy, happy social practices, and puts an emphasis on the unhealthy aspects of social climates and relationships. The point about anonymity and the internet in particular caught me by surprise.
    I was somewhat worried this video might be haughty, uptight, or look down on the viewer, but I am pleasantly surprised to find out it is not so. Keep preaching what you're saying.

    I love this video. The only complaint is that you left out "what confident men do instead" for the last part. Now, obviously, they do the converse, which is treat all people with respect. However, I think there's another personal element.
    While I have my own insecurities that I battle with, like all men, I am a very confident man. I realize this is because I was raised in a loving, caring, and supportive environment where I had 2 parents who believed in me, recognized my abilities, and voiced it--- while being honest with discipline, my shortcomings, and maybe what I wasn't good at.
    This self awareness point which you brought up, I believe, should be extended out. A confident man recognizes strengths and weaknesses in others. They vocally praise and support those strengths, 2ith the same confidence in others that they have in their own strengths. They also do not belittle weaknesses, nor point them out for sport - - -, but offer support, care, and help, wherein one might be stronger in this other's weakness.
    Confident men set the tone around them. Their confidence isn't only about or for them. It is a way of life that they bring others into. They create environments of support where people are built up, supported, and praised.

    "The midwest...where avoiding conflict is part of the culture." Sounds great to those among us who are, like me, harmony addicts ("harmoniebedürftig" as the German language puts it nicely) :-)

    • @sammywest2583
      @sammywest2583 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like conflict to a point. The problem is that so many friendships and things die due to that conflict avoidance. If i'm around people like that, i generally tend to keep them at a arms length. The same goes for the other extreme too. You gotta be able to talk about things that bother you, other wise theres not much point to having a friend.

    • @Jkw211
      @Jkw211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Conflict avoidance leads to artificial “harmony “. And a lot of gossip and passive aggressiveness.

    I'm like #4 when it comes to my hats. I wear Homburgs on special occasions and commonly wear a bowler hat now and I love how it looks on me. I've had friends say its too vintage and outdated, but I get more compliments when I wear the bowler hat than anything else I wear. Its truly odd if i walk down the street in a bowler hat that I don't get compliments from at least two strangers passing by.
