    It's amazing how such seemingly basic information is needed. I just got my first variegated monstera (cutting, aerial roots, a tiny bit of growing roots). But I am searching far and wide to make sure I know how to best propagate it. Thanks for uploading, it's really useful!

I recently retired and got into this world of plant TH-camrs and you are my absolute favorite 💓 I have collected and cared for plants for over 50 years and I learn something new from you in just about every video. BRAVO 👏

    Came here because I bought a cutting of a VMon which came in the mail today. Bought it on ebay bc I'm trying to raise it for a friend who always wanted one but they're quit expensive.. it would be part of her Wedding gift if I can get it through 😅 The seller was nice and all but the cutting she sent me is super tiny and one side of the node is kinda greyish - no active rot though, but still. I spent 35 bucks in this sucker 🤣 it came fully rooted so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 hopes to it wanting to live 🌱

    Hi there! Fellow plant-loving physician here. Wondering if you could comment on top vs middle vs bottom cuttings. It seems top cuttings, once rooted, are the most desirable bc they will have quicker new growth and maintain current level of fenestration? What about middle vs bottom - at least with bottom cutting you essentially have a well-rooted plant already?
    In future, it would be helpful to include a video or photo of exactly where you made the cut on the new white growth. I’m unsure how close to the node I need to clip.

    I have 2 young rambunctious kids home today so I couldn't watch the whole video but I have a question! I'm plant sitting for a friend n her albo that got a new leaf since I've been watching it has started to curl under only on the variegated side and also at the stem it's turned downward a lot like the leaf is almost flush with the stem. Is that a sign of too much light or not not enough? Or also that new leaf already has a new leaf starting to emerge is that just what they do when a new leaf emerges sometimes? Also what's your favorite fertilizer for albos?

    I grew an albo from a double node wet stick... I did end up cutting in half and waiting for my keiki paste to arrive to encourage the 2nd bud. The first bud grew just fine and now has 2 baby leaves, however it's been about 3 months of waiting on the 2nd leaf to shoot another leaf out ... how long does this normally take? The roots on both nodes are really good too👍🏻... thanks in advance! 😊

    So if I have a cutting with 3 nodes, and the roots come out of the node closest to the leaves and I am ready to plant in soil - is there any reason I can't trim the stem below the roots and try to grow a new plant out of the other two nodes?

    I still don't understand why white growth is seen as catastrophic?:( what if you get the odd one? What if it's an all white leaf on a single stem plant? Would appreciate any help!

    • @LegendsOfMonstera
      @LegendsOfMonstera  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      White parts don't have chlorophyll and thus don't generate energy for the plant. That means all the white parts are draining energy from your plant and not contributing energy in return.

      Variegation is basically luck based. Sometimes you need to prune back when it gets all green, and other times you need to prune back when it gets all white.
