    Great Video, Tom! That Park King is a very reasonable cost. As an older guy with serious back issues, being able to work on the car and not having to bend over is terrific! I am assuming you were at Rennsport. What a great event. Lot's of fun.

    Very nice... I am moving to Colorado soon (April 2021) and although I plan on getting a 3 car garage.... I plan on building a Cobra Replica soon ( retirement project) and this would really help.
    Although we saw a new housing development what had a 3 car garage... but the 3 garage will actually hold 2 cars end to end. Now THAT plus the lift would be a dream come true. And it just might!

    Did you ever consider doing a 'coffered' ceiling, where you cut a boxout in just the dimensions of your vehicle roofline to sit in that recess, it all depends on what's above the garage,
    i have a 8'6'' ceiling like you with a storage loft above, i have to consult a framing contractor to see how cutting into those ceiling joists without causing a structural issue.

  • @tokuzumi1
    @tokuzumi1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    43" tall car, so basically only $150k+ vehicles. If you had 2 2019 Corvettes, you would be pushing the height limit. 49 + 49 + 6 = 104" Which is 2" taller than your garage. You could probably stack two lowered C5s, and definitely 2 C4s on top of each other. 94 Corvette is 47" tall. 47 + 47 + 6 = 100", which would put you at 8'4". So don't think you are going to stack your Mustangs or Camaros on top of each other in a 8.5' ceiling.

    Hi Tom! Great video. I have 2 corvette both are 48.6 height. So with 97.2 plus 6 inches I am at 103.2. Can this still work for me? I have a double space. I plan to just use one side. But carriage doors are needed. If the 103.2 won’t work I thought about building that side up a little where the roof top is. Is a flat ceiling that just goes up to an attic. Can you help letting me know what I can do. Thanks

      @@TomsGarage Hi Tom! Since I have a really low garage ceiling and it does slope because of no drain in the floor. I am needing to cutting open part of my ceiling to raise the car a bit. But not an issue as it open above as I use for storage. But regardless I can only go so far up because of the garage door. Did you find the carriage doors to be reasonable. I have a large 2 car 8ft door. I found the carriage doors do be extremely expensive. Also I am also looking at a lift and was curious of one you purchased as I again as I limited on space I need every inch. Any help would be appreciated. I have in one spot of my garage about 103 inches and the lowest spot 99. I am seeing if I can just raise the garage doors tracks enough to make it work. No garage door open up on the ceiling would be best. Since I have wall space thought about a door that opens to one side of the wall but they are also about 20K. I am struggling what is my best affordable options are.

    Hopefully you’ve found out in the two years since you made this video, but I guess you are to NEVER leave the wing on a CGT in the up position when it is parked. Apparently the cylinders that hold it up fail a lot when you leave it like that for extended periods of time.

      @@TomsGarage awesome 👍. I had never heard that but recently was watching a video and a guy that had one was messaged by one of the few mechanics in the US that work on CGT’s, after constantly seeing him leave it up while out in public. I wonder if other cars are like that? P1’s are left in race mode all the time so people can see it full down suspension, and full up aero. Makes you wonder 🤔.

    So my friend, you forget in your technical explanation of selling the lift that not all of us have 200,000 cars that are 30 in high. I've been investigating a lift which will not carry my Subaru out back and other similar 5 ft tall car in a 10 ft 5 ceiling without walking on my knees below it.
