    I purchased this gun a week ago for $449. Put 300 rounds through it yesterday. No issues. Very "EZ" to use. I plan to use this gun to teach my kids to shoot. I was looking for something they could easily handle. Light as a feather. Very limited recoil. I like the gun over all.

    70 years old with arthritic thumbs and just bought one of these. It's very EZ for me to handle and fits the bill perfectly for anyone with strength issues. Kudos to Smith & Wesson for this model. I have an Olight PL 2 mini mounted on the Picatinny rail on mine and it fits perfectly. One thing that also needs to be mentioned during the takedown session is never have the grip safety depressed when you take apart or put the slide back on or it will jam and get stuck. A person absolutely needs to not depress the grip safety when disassembling for cleaning
    Thanks for the great video.

    The issue I have with the EZ is the grip safety. 8/10 times of drawing and firing, it works flawless.
    2/10 times it won't fire depending on my grip and angle of my grip when drawing from holster. That's something I'm not betting my life on when under stress and maybe fighting off someone where I cannot ALWAYS get a firm high enough grip or perfect grip and angle on the safety. where I need to KNOW 100% of the time when I draw it will SHOOT.
    Even with training the last few months, it has to be drawn and gripped just right with the right amount of compression and angle to fire. That's not always possible in a fight or flight situation or scuffle. I returned it for a firearm with no safety. Other than that, it's a fantastic carry pistol.

      I am fairly new back to shooting. I appreciate the opinions of others so I do not need to make every mistake myself. Far cheaper that way. We are actually lucky that there are so many great guns to pick from. I own the 9 EZ. I did not choose it but rather won it so no choice involved. The grip safety? Like anything else takes a bit of getting used to. For concealed carry does make it harder to shoot yourself. A perfect gun does not exist. Heavier reduced felt recoil but is more weight to carry. Bigger is more accurate but more difficult to conceal. A bigger mag and you do not need to change mags as often. Which of your kids do you like the best? Which is perfect?
      My favorite is my S&W 686 plus with a 6 inch barrel. Far too heavy and big to carry.
      We are lucky to have so many choices.

    So many comments on all videos of this specific weapon always states with “buying this for my wife”........like dayum lol. My first gun was a Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum Revolver 8 3/8 Barrel and I just recently bought a Smith and Wesson 9mm EZ Shield for MYSELF. Just so many comments like those makes it almost seem as though it’s a woman type of pistol.

    Great review. I love my M&P Shield 9mm EZ. As I am getting a bit older and starting to get arthritis, this firearm is a godsend, I thought I would hate the grip safety but I actually find myself liking it. It gives me a little more confidence for concealed carry. The recoil is really not an issue and she has been shooting dead on from the moment I took her out of the box. Only a few hundred rounds so far but no jams or failures at all. Very happy with this one.

    Forgot to add the part where if you press the grip safety while assembling it, you're gonna have a fun time trying to get it unstuck lol. I've had the gun for about a year and it's amazing. My whole family ordered pistols at the same time and I guess there was a mixup at first and I ended up with a Taurus. Man did that gun not want to shoot straight. The EZ finally came in and they realized they gave me the wrong gun. I'm partially paralyzed, so I can't really feel my right side and it's also pretty weak. This gun makes the range fun to go to because its easier to pull the slide back and, because of that, the slide doesn't snap back out of my grip and rub against my hand

    The Shield is top of the shelf. I've carried one, off duty, for years. .40, not 9mm, however. Next year, my Dept. will be switching from the Glock 22 to the 19. The real, albeit unspoken, reason is due to the numerous complaints of female and metro-male officers experiencing "too much recoil" with the .40.

    • @walterminer4990
      @walterminer4990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been carrying for 45 years. Carried and fired a lot of different calibers. The .40 cal is snappy. But, I've shot .380's that had a rediculous snap az well just not the jam into the hand! I get that some female shooters would have a problem, and a whole lot of guys would admit to recoil issues as well. Except guys worry what other guys would say!
      Besides, the .40 cal in a all steel frame pistol is a smooth shooter. But, Glocks ain't steel!

    With respect to the magazine not adding length, there is a reason. S&W ever so slightly widened the magazine, so while it is still technically a single stack, the slight offset allows for a shorter overall grip length than had it been an in-line SS. There you have it, precious millimeters saved to reduce print.
