I don't know, man - I'm a combat vet with wide hands. I picked this up on a fluke and I love it. If you think you have to be a woman or elderly to appreciate a smooth action when you rack the thing - then I would respectfully disagree. Fits perfect in my hands, clean line of sight with the white dots... I have no gripes. You went into detail about all the features, so no point to add to it. It's practical, fires a good sized round and isn't too large to carry concealed. PLUS it didn't break the bank and came with 2 magazines. Too easy. Carry on. Great review, btw.

M Callahan it will eventually become popular. It's gun snobs driving 380 into a corner because it's not a 1911 or some other piece of trash that's over priced. One guy tried telling me over a Ruger lcp to buy a Kel tec pt3a1. I told I'm I'll buy a high point over that kel tec pt3a.

My EDC now. Love it. At 74, the regular 9mm Shield is getting a little harder to rack. This EZ is only a scant larger, and conceals almost as well. My followup accuracy is better, due to softer recoil. I have 94 gr JHP on board, and a total of 4 mags. Two mags are always in a belt mounted soft mag pouch. The EZ is at my 4, and I can wear this setup all day with no problem. After 1+ year of owning and zero malfunctions, I highly recommend.
Neighbors, first time gun purchasers, were considering traditional 9mm. I took them to the range and let them try the Shield 1.0, and the 380 EZ. They purchased their own EZ that very afternoon. A fabulous pistol.

Retired LEO... 27 yrs of shooting not including military (USMC) and when I tried this pistol I was sold. I have huge hands and this isn't a small .380. It fit my hand very well and one thing I personally look for in a conceal carry weapon is comfort. It's comfortable to carry. I have glocks (19, 23 & 36) S7W SVE Sigma .40 (Gift) Bersa Thunder .380 (1 of my favs) Taurus .380 (Pocket pistol) and the M&P Shield EZ. It's a good pistol. I injured my right hand and was still able to rack the slide and I've had zero issues with it... Don't knock it until you try one.

Even as a more experienced shooter, I love the safety features and this gun as a whole to the point where I traded in my 9mm Glock 43X to swap over to this gun, put a compact green laser / flashlight combo on it and got a universal holster with spare mag carrier that would fit it with the combo in it. Only shot it twice and I tear the bullseye out of a target at 10 yards, much more accurate with it than my old 9mm or any other gun (mainly 9mm and up) that I have shot. It’s comfortable to carry and so fun to shoot at the range. PMC Bronze 90 grain FMJ for range time and Hornady Critical Defense 90 grain FTX for carry, both run through it beautifully

As an instructor, I recommend S&W's M&P line over foreign brands for two reasons. 1. Malfunctions are virtually unheard of (unless the piece is damaged) 2. They are made in America by Americans. My wife can't operate the slide on my M&P 9c but she's a champ with her M&P EZ and with today's modern bullets, the 380 has become a formidable choice for self defense and CCW.

I've watched several videos that show the EZ having the same malfunction. Even American companies with a great reputation make shitty weapons. I wouldn't waste my money on one of these EZ models. I'm not blindly faithful when it comes to my family's security. What is reliable is what I buy.

@Russian Bot 5. They have a Smith & Wesson lifetime warranty which is far better than say a Taurus lifetime warranty. The time I sent my 622 back to them because it wasn't always going into battery or ejecting they put a master gunsmith on it and he signed off that it was repaired. That was over 20 years ago and the thing still shoots like a dream and never malfunctions. Got to appreciate a company that wants to make good on something if it does have a problem, something to do with pride of workmanship that is in short supply these days.

My wife mentioned to me that she wanted to get her CCP and immediately I started looking for guns she might be interested in. She's sensitive to recoil and she thinks little guns are cuter. Immediately i thought about Kimber Micros and such and showed her a few she was interested in. The next day, I remembered the M&P EZ and recommended she considers them. We went to the range and she liked the EZ and really only complained that the grip felt a little larger than she'd like. She loved how easy it was to load, chamber a round, and the safeties built in. She was also fairly accurate, considering it's been well over a year since the last time she shot. I rented a Kimber micro and she hated it and couldn't get a comfortable grip on it.
We're open to recommendations but so far, I think the EZ is the best option.

My wife and I both are older and both have issues: She has fibromyalgia and I have arthritis in my primary hand. We both test fired the Shield EZ 9mm and .380 before deciding to buy them. We liked the easy to operate slide, the easy to load magazine, the easy to activate safety (both of them), and the easy to take down for cleaning features. Ultimately she preferred the .380 for less recoil, and I preferred the 9mm because it felt better shooting it.
We bought both and have had them and been shooting them for awhile now and are VERY happy with the purchase. Both guns are well built and easy to maintain. I cannot recommend them enough for older shooters who may have issues with racking the slide or handing too much recoil.

I am a person with tons of experience with a whole lot of different firearms. I can handle a full-sized .40 just fine. But I have a boxer break on my right hand and my pinky sits crooked making my pinky and ring finger almost completely useless in gripping a pistol. I tend to stick to lower recoil pistols for the comfort of shooting aspect. It agravates me going into gun shops and people trying to convince me to buy a 9 instead of a .380. I am comfortable shooting .380 and I will continue to buy them. This weekend I am heading out to pick me up an ez as my new cc weapon. Thank you for the review on this little pew spreader. Because of the million videos I have watched I have been interested in one. With the reliability this video has shown my mind is made up. Thank you.

I just got my EZ 380 and mine doesn't have the manual safety. I think I will like that. It feels good to hold. I see it come highly recommended for folks with not so strong hands. Us seniors, and I am 79, fit that category for sure. So I think it will fill the bill for me. And ease of loading the mag. I like that already. I think it's a winner. I bought a 9mm SCCY and it kicked way too much. It had to go. You forgot to mention the pop-up on top to show that a round is in the chamber. I like that also. Good video.

My wife bought this as her 1st handgun over the weekend. Her and her friends where testing it out and had 1 jam in the 1st 50 rounds. But also had a bigger issue, the spring that holds pressure on the mag release cam out an jammed the magazine in it. I had to forcefully remove the mag. The spring was easy to put back in though. The jam could have been used error, I cant get it to malfunction at all myself. Also it is very accurate. I can shoot it better than my 2.0 compact. I highly recommend it. My wife loves it, and how easy it is for her to use. She now wants to shoot with me. But most importantly she will have her own personal handgun for protection that she is comfortable with.

Thank you for this feedback. My wife and I looked at this gun earlier tonight. We were seriously considering buying it for her first hand gun. I thought we should hold off due to lack of research / reviews. I found that if the gun was made before April 4, 2018 that the grip safety would move in the off position while shooting due to higher grain bullets. Smith and Wesson has put a notice out that they have acknowledged the issue and adjusted the build. I think we will go back and buy this over the 9mm Security we were comparing it to.

(And a $50 rebate) As I get older I am having more and more trouble racking the slides back on some of the beefier guns in my collection. (Esp my 1911's) Everything in this review is spot on! S&W did their homework. My wife gave up shooting automatics because her arthritis caused her the same issues I described. We had a "range date" one night and she liked shooting mine so much that I ended up buying one for her too. She no longer carries her snubby .38. Great review and a great gun. I have one and am a senior citizen with arthritis in my gun hand. This thing is wonderful to shoot and operate. Have only put about 200 rounds through it so far. My hand was still sore from prior week practice with my 642. I managed to shoot out the ten ring (no flyers) and make consistent head shots at 30 feet off hand. My girlfriend (over 70) could keep them all in the kill areas. She loved how easy it is for everything over her SIG SAUER P238 and is going to trade for it. For pocket carry I will stick to my LCP II with green laser, but the EZ is as accurate with open sights! Just a little too big. If it were Glock 42 size, but then it would loose qualities like full grip, better sight radius and low recoil. Waiting for a good EZ holster. Meanwhile, pure fun!

I felt that it would be perfect for the Diversity Shoot 2A workshop that I host and many of the students that I instruct. I have new shooters from small pre-teens, nervous first time shooters to senior citizens and people suffering from handicaps /disabilities . It is built for the growing segment of the shooting public. I think this will be a market leader and this idea will be copied by other companies. Glad to see reviews again. Good job.

I believe this pistol with today's ammo science have produced a competent CCW pistol with consumer confidence when handling and shooting this weapon. I am a seasoned shooter of larger caliber handguns and I love this little pistol. For an everyday carry gun I like the extra safety features. If you train with it throwing the safety is second nature and as long as you get a decent purchase on the gun the backstrap safety is not an issue. As an M&P NUT I bought one thinking if I did not like it I would just use it as a trainer for first time handgun shooters. I will still do that but I would not hesitate to carry this pistol. The 2.0 line of M&P's are outstanding weapons. Good review and honest admission of having your preconceived notions changed once you had it in hand and put rounds down range. Good work guys!

Just got ours today, and I love it. I have the 9mm EZ and it is so much more difficult to rack. We really like this. It works for my smaller hands and for hubby too. We jumped at it when we saw they came out with a 380 because it gives us more of a chance of actually finding some ammo, and it will fit in my purse just fine. Good review. Thanks. Glad we found your channel.

Hello, I just purchased that same gun, I am in the learning stage right now, watching your video has helped me to learn more, I have been going over the instructions, and it is too cold right now to start learning to shoot it. But I hope to get started on that part very soon. Thank you for your good review.

First --- I LOVED THIS VIDEO. I just bought this handgun. I am the market you are talking about - a great grandma with arthritis in my hands -- 72 years old. I finally gave up my Glock because all I could do was "limp wrist" and most of the time I could not rack it and using my .38 revolver was just wishful thinking. My grandson (an army officer) recommended this one and I am so glad he did.
One thing I have a problem with, though, is the grip safety. I had to really change my grip to depress it properly. I actually have to hold it LOWER than usual to dependably depress the safety. That said, with all the limitations caused by weak hands, I was pretty proud of my accuracy with this little beauty, probably due to the almost non-existent recoil
I have seen others call this the Grandma Gun. That's accurate and much appreciated.

Got this gun like 3 weeks ago. Love it. I'm an average size guy, 64 years old. I got it because it is a different caliber. I have 9mm and others. .380 is just a short 9mm. Was a bit smaller for conceal. So why not. Such a fun gun to shoot. Accurate, EZ, ha ha. Sorry. Had to. Great gun for women or anyone if you want a fun gun to shoot.

Wanted a personal/home defence for my wife.
Bought this. Went to range. The last firearm my wife shot was a
.22 rifle a very long time ago. Wasn't sure if she could handle it. She has nerve damage in her hands , arms and fibermialgia / nerve issues.
Anyway ; this hand gun with .380 95gr , 8 bullet clip. 50 yards and 25 yards she was a little nervous if she could hold it up , shot it because of recoil and hit what she was aiming at. After about 3 shots , she said , wow. I like this. 3 cips later she missed 3 times at 50 yards and zero times at 25 yards. Also my first time ; 52 yr old male , and 2 other "guys" , not so much. We now calling her Annie Oakley. She said , she has no problems with it and she really seems to like it. Its a nice firearm and she with all her medical problems handled it extremly well. I am very proud of her and glad we purchased the the EZ S.W. .380 auto. i should also say , for practicing , wear ear protection because it is very very loud for such a small thing.

I'll stick to my 380 proudly. I am a big guy but I like the fact 380's pack a punch in a small firearm that can easily be supplied ammo. A 9mm is nice but when your wearing gym shorts and a 9mm weighs double to three times the weight of my lcp 1 I think I'll stick to 380 because it won't pull my shorts down every time I take a step. Also look into the grand power 380 that has double recoil springs like the desert eagle.

I love this pistol, I got it for my wife, she hated my larger caliber guns and wouldn't shoot them. I got her this on a recommendation from the gunshop I buy my guns from. Honestly it's one of my best shooting pistols. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that my wife will always be armed now when she is not with me. I recommended this for my 76 yr old mom and some older relatives with some nagging ailments. This gun gives them the confidence that if they ever do have to use it that they in fact can and they can in fact and will in fact train with it. Nice work Smith and Wesson.

This is the same gun they sold her. Not only can she charge the thing easy, but it fits in her lil lady hands, and the recoil is very controllable for her. Folks, reccomend this for the... slightly advanced in age.

I bought this gun for my wife last weekend. The owner of the gun shop actually let her fire it right out of the box. She lived it. The best feature for her was the ease of the slide. She tried many guns and this one was her favourite and the only one she had no issues with the slide. She loves the safety features. She has weak hands and no issue with the grip safety. This was money well spent!

I don't have one of these but I am considering it. I am nearing 60 and I work at a factory. My hand grip is shot, probably for life. I have a hard time racking slides and with my hands losing a lot of sensitivity as well as being swollen this is the gun for either an older person or somebody with physical limitations. I am looking at one for those days when my hands are puffy clumps. My only gripe is, why is .380 ammo as expensive as my .45 ammo? I am sure it is due to the vast majority of 9mm firearms as opposed to the other calibers but that is why I don't have a .380. This may be my first.

Love these Pistols. My GF has trouble manipulating normal size 9mm like Sheilds, G19, and PPQ for a few examples but this gun which my 70 yr old Pops has was a breeze to use. Even w/ all the Safety’s, which she likes, she runs this Pistol really good. Only malfunctioning I’ve seen n hers n Pops hands is there bad support hand grips n them both inadvertently hitting the magazine release button. I run this gun ZERO MALFUNCTIONS n at least have over 500rds of FMJ and JHP. Just wish ammo was less n this would be a favorite Range gun. The Performance Center is Great to.

Please don't just think of this as a woman's gun (queue j-lo vid).I am a 66+ Y O male vet that has had to make changes due to hand strength issues as I get older. Over the past month, I have tried many very fine single stack 9's without finding one that I was comfortable with. Then my local gun shop showed me the new EZ, and it was exactly what I needed. A frame large enough for my hand, but EZ to rack, EZ to load (I can load a complete mag with the spring depressor), and EZ to shoot with the lighter kick of the 380. It's like the gun was designed with us aging Boomers in mind. Hmm, maybe it was

As far as a "gunfighting pistol" goes, I don't think anyone buys it for that. Statistically, gun fights almost never go past 2 shots. This is a "get off me" self defense gun. It's also very easy to shoot, and what the hell is wrong with that? If you load this up with decent self defense ammo, it will put a bad guy down just as effectively as a 9mm. I think it's great for women, small men, seniors and new shooters.
