    I have the 9 EZ and at age 71 with thumb arthritis issues I can operate it with zero problems. It's accurate and I love the trigger. Any firearm is useless if a person can't operate and fire it.
    Kudos to S&W for realizing there was a need for this type of weapon and producing an excellent weapon to fill that need.

    I agree it should be the persons choice what feels and shoots better for them I chose the 43x because I like the grip but I wouldn’t mind having the EZ shield .great video 👍🏼

      Interesting but much appreciated versus choice, since most people don't pit the EZ line against Glocks, 365s, PPS M2, or Hellcat. It'd be fun to hear/see more detail about differences between them regarding reliability, concealability, accuracy, shootability (rapid follow-up shots), and ergonomics, but you did cover a lot of these quickly. Thanks!

      Thanks, I shoot both of these guns regularly and really like both of them. I'm probably around a 1000 rounds in each of them. I think the ez has a little less perceived recoil, but because of the grip angle I think follow up shots are easier on the 43x.

    I own both. I would never go for the Ez over the 43x. 43x is a way better gun to carry imo. Specially w the s15 upgrade. S15 upgrade with the 5+ make that bad boy a 20+1 and still conceals well. Can’t ever go wrong w that. EVER.

    My edc is a glock 19 and my backup is a EZ shield in 9mm. Can't beat either for edc. I'd trust my life either. Sometimes I just carry 1 of the either depends if I'm at work or just on vacation or going shopping

    Very concise and helpful video for someone trying to choose between these two. For the exact reason you described, (rack tension and grip) my wife picked the Shield .380 EZ.
    Her sister liked it so much, she now has a .380 EZ. The 9mm was a bit too much for them. The only issue with the .380 is finding ammo...even more difficult than 9mm.
    I've put over 2000 rounds through my standard Shield 9mm 2.0 and it's accurate, reliable and feels balanced in my hand, but I also liked the EZ so much that I own a EZ 9 Performance Center.
    It's an outstanding firearm with an even better trigger. I agree that you cannot go wrong with either of these choices. It does come down to personal preference, so I urge those who are interested to spend an hour at your local range and try both before purchase. You are far less likely to make a 'mistake' after a test. Great vid. Thanks.

    Girl at work just bought a EZ9....quality assurance guy must have had the day off when her gun was made. Failure to feed issues when shooting....bullet won't go into the barrel, it gets stuck between the barrel and the magazine. Has same issue when trying to chamber around from the magazine prior to shooting. Rear sight has become loose and is just sliding from side to side. Checked the website and found that many of the EZ9s have a recall on them, hers doesn't....YET.

    • @althomas7977

      I had same problem and had to file down the front edge of my magazine to prevent cases from hanging up as they were being pushed out of the mag by the slide.

    • @CarlHausman
      @CarlHausman ปีที่แล้ว

      The EZ is sensitive to limp-wrist failures. If the whole gun is driven back by recoil the slide doesn’t have enough extra speed (as compared to the rest of the gun) to allow full ejection and feeding. I think think this is partly due to the shooter’s instinct to squeeze the grip safety - resulting in a hand position that’s too low and allows too much muzzle rise and recoil. Maybe advise her to put the web of her hand as high and tight to the beaver tail as possible. The grip safety will take care of itself. I had many failures to fire on that weapon until I adjusted my grip and Since then it’s been through about 500 rounds now without a failure. High firm grip, lots of pressure from the left hand, and firm arm position might do the trick.

      When re-holstering if you put your thumb on the back of the slide, due to the grip safety you never have to worry about shooting yourself if something were to fowl the trigger.
      My wife has the EZ and loves it. I have shot it quite a bit and I don't even notice the grip safety. It shoots more like a full sized pistol because the sight radius is longer and the steel reinforced frame adds weight up front.

    • @colt10mmsecurity68
      @colt10mmsecurity68 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HalfCrazy520 I’m sure it’s a pretty descent gun overall. I absolutely LOVE the M&P 2.0 9mm’s but again, that grip safety on the EZ models just ruin it for me. It’s more needless parts installed in the gun. My wife and daughters love the Glock 42 .380 for its ease of recoil, light weight, compactness for a purse or IWB carry and finally, Glock’s unparalleled design safety and reliability.

      @@colt10mmsecurity68 -- I have a 2.0 Compact. It's my first striker-fired pistol. Put the Apex flatty trigger in it (huge improvement).
      Coming from 1911s, a thumb safety and grip safety are second nature to me.
      Not sure if you can still say Glocks are 'unparalleled' with guns like the PPQ, P-10C, FN 509, VP9, and M&P on the market.

    • @LakeNormanFirearmsTraining
      @LakeNormanFirearmsTraining  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say terrible. Seems to have worked great on 1911s for over 100 years. As long as you know how to properly grip a pistol it should engage every time. The only time I run into issues is with a new shooter that wants to grip the gun too low. It's is actually perfect for teaching grip because if you are not high and tight, the firearm won't fire.
