When I was a kid in the '70s my family explored an old ghost town in the California high desert. I think it was Ramsburg. In a little canyon I found a small mine that was Y-shaped and no deeper than 50 feet. The miners must have abandoned it after not finding anything. But inside in the debris I found a can of tomatoes from the 1880s that had not been opened, and a rusty shovel head (no handle) and a glove. Now, being a kid, I just had to open the can to see the stewed tomatoes inside. They were brown and very small, about the size of plums. I didn't eat them. The ghost town itself, like many back then, were not picked clean at all. Newspapers from the 1800s were in the little houses, old-timey wallpaper, silverware, square nails everywhere and bottles. Amazing.
Truly amazing seing Mr M climbing down that deep shafts at his age shows what truly amazing his body is in great shape puting lots of younger guys to shame

First time responder here. My husband and I used to explore alot of old mines here in AZ. But it's been over 10 years because of finance reasons. We found your channel and it's amazing and can't wait for the next one. Sorry to hear you are heading north because of a little heat. LOL. I was told that my Grandparents started their married life by moving to Chloride in 1910. It was noted they co-owned a mine either the Dixie Bell or Mary Bell. Have you explored any of those mines? We are moving to Kingman from the valley and every time we pass Shiprock on 93 we wonder what you and Mr. M is doing.
I can't say it enough. You guys are great! I really like the way you take your time, show us what the mine looks like and what the miners were looking for. I've checked a lot of exploring channels on youtube and yours is without a doubt the best. And Mr M's humor and timing is spot on. I really look forward to every episode. Thank you for this adventure; unbelievable chances you are taking, Gly and Mr. M and it never gets boring, every moment is worth watching. Why were the workers so frivolous with their dynamite? It is strewn all over; they could have blown up their entire crew and Gly stood in the middle of all these sticks. I always worry about Mr. M over extending himself since I know about his bad knee. I know about that! I was quite young when mine gave out and I have to keep my eyes on it at all times. I never know when I bend it wrong or step too hard and it's all over! It simply gives out! Can you imagine Mr. Ms knee giving out all the way down in the abyss and Gly has to leave him to get a phone connection for help? Of course Mr. M, isn't terrified to be in the belly of the mountain. Watching those two is all the excitement I need for one day. I think both of them should get a stress test and ECHO gram from their cardiologists before they do another difficult mine like the one today!

Hi Gly & Mister M, I loved the crack about not seeing many boats lol. Wow that was one cool Limonite pillar, I bet they were sorry they had to leave that in situ. That incline looked so steep but you guys made it look like a walk in the park, sheesh. At 42:33 I'm sure I saw another few sticks of dynamite under that paper you were heading towards, I'm so glad you turned around when you did. At 44:36 there were actually 3 sticks of dynamite because there was another 1 on it's own under another piece of that paper, yikes !!. That was really naughty that the miners didn't place those unused sticks back in the box, I guess they didn't count on people going there in later years. I really worry about you Mister M sometimes when you're climbing up n down those deep inclines, please be careful okay. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
“Gly”: Hi Sue! It shines a light on the fact that people back then didn’t think of dynamite like they do today. Back then dynamite was as common as going to the hardware store and buying a hammer so leaving it behind in a mine was no big deal. This is just one example of how society changes over time.
On the left and the right was all limonite. Some old dynamite sure gave a fright, We descended deep into the abyss, Flashlights on bright so nothing We'd miss. We ventured to places the miners did blast. Looking for artifacts left from the past. We traveled slow it wasn't a race. But alas We finally came to the face. We climbed back out and into the sun. and smiled at each saying this sure was fun. (Thanks for the great vids Gly and Mr. M )
What amazes me, is how Mr. M can drink his "Tea" on those rough roads. I can't get 50' in my driveway without showering in coffee, maybe it's my wife's driving?

Great mine! I looked up Diamond A foods...it was started in 1912 Stockton Ca. Was its headquarters..them are some old carrots! Great show Gly and mr.M. Im addicted to it! Ive told many about the channel. I used camp in the desert and ride motorcycles. I was terrified of mineshafts when we found them. But now i see the logic. Me and my friend found one in Pioneer town, Ca. We went in a semi shallow one, but not the deep ones they looked dark and deep. Dont worry im not tryin to go and start doin what you do, it is very dangerous . Ill just keep watching your show. Thanks so much for showing this stuff its awesome i love it! More, more, more! You are right you both are very funny. I have to caution you both with all your old man noises green peace may mistake you for a pair of whales singing and wonder how you got them into a mine lol . Blame Jeff foxworthy for that one lol . Great show and very enjoyable to watch especially people who are good friends and respect our history. Just make sure you don’t go out with a bang though with all that dynamite lying around. All joking aside you are correct old dynamite is nothing to fool with its incredibly unstable its one of the first things I was taught when I was a kid wandering the old railroad tracks we kids called the dirt road . The reason being there where at one time hundreds of old mines in the camino area and dynamite had been found on the surface where one had collapsed by an apple farmer out planting apple trees needless to say it was properly disposed of by the proper authorities. So we where constantly told to watch out for it thankfully I never found any but I did find a lot of railroad spikes from the old railroad bed that used to be for logging trains shipping logs to the mill that my great grandfather collected telling me that many of those logs shipped by rail where his logs from trees he fell.
At the beginning when Mr. M said you don’t see to many boats it made me think of where I explore here in Mohave county Arizona between bullhead City and golden valley. I have found two boats out in the desert. There’s a couple mines out here I could sure use the two of you on. Thanks for another awesome adventure.
Also from what I know from old dynamite that is clearly “sweating” is extremely unstable. Meaning the slightest movement will set it off. And based on the looks of the dynamite that I saw at the bottom of that mine it looks like some of them have already started sweating

boy its a good thing you decided not to explore above the dynamite, I could just see you kicking a rock out there causing a small avalanches it would drop some stones on top of that stuff that was down below, it's real nice to have you around, thanks for making my weekend awesome! your charmed like me, in my youth I tried to pick up a stick I though was a church candle and my hands went right through it like it was made of mud, tried to pick up another and stuck my finger in it.... got lucky i remember the beads of brown seat all over it, I always thought it was smaller in diameter, not 2"s, even dug some out from under my nails I think the cold was an advantage, being near the opening.💥🙄

Man I love you guys I live in Nevada as well and ride in the Desert quite often I wish I would find some cool stuff like what you guys find.
Also from what I know from old dynamite that is clearly “sweating” is extremely unstable. Meaning the slightest movement will set it off. And based on the looks of the dynamite that I saw at the bottom of that mine it looks like some of them have already started sweating

boy its a good thing you decided not to explore above the dynamite, I could just see you kicking a rock out there causing a small avalanches it would drop some stones on top of that stuff that was down below, it's real nice to have you around, thanks for making my weekend awesome! your charmed like me, in my youth I tried to pick up a stick I though was a church candle and my hands went right through it like it was made of mud, tried to pick up another and stuck my finger in it.... got lucky i remember the beads of brown seat all over it, I always thought it was smaller in diameter, not 2"s, even dug some out from under my nails I think the cold was an advantage, being near the opening.💥🙄

I am glad that a downpour of rain didn't take place while you were down there as it seems to flood quite a bit, you could see how high the levels were.
