Genuinely a very good video! You remind me of Lily Gladstone when she used to do Film Production Crash Courses. Looking forward to seeing more! Also great outfit 🔥
I'm glad that you enjoyed the movie. I hope that it inspires you to read all six of Frank Herbert's Dune series. Sadly, he died after the sixth book so we don't really know how he would have ended the saga. His son, Brian, wrote an ending but it is very disappointing; not recommended.
I liked the video, although I can't help but be put off a little. There's this WatchMojo or BuzFeed corporate energy that never sits right with me. Not my preferred presentation style, but it is high quality! It's also funny to see so many people thirsting in the comments. Though I definitely see where they're coming from... Maybe if you ma'am played Chani instead of Zandaya I'd get why Paul was so struck by her!
Wow, what a compliment! I'd live in the desert for Paul's attention 😂 We are heavily inspired by the old Talk Soup and Up All Night with Rhonda Shear shows in our production, so I know what you mean! If you're more into the live discussion style, we have a panel show on Saturdays at 1pm Pacific 😉
I agree with you completely. I felt Part I as, I'm not gonna say boring, but as a movie that was designed only for fans. A lot of information, exposition and gibberish that went nowhere; and most importantly, incomplete. But now with Part II, I fully understood everything. The pacing was great, the visuals, the characters, the story, the music (I feel you, Zendaya and Timothée didn't feel that connected or really in loved)... It is an epic movie for sure. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it was a great review, keep up the great job!
Thanks a ton for your feedback! I'm thrilled you liked the review and Part II of the movie! That lack of romantic chemistry really left me scratching my head. She went from "Hmm, this guy" to "love me forever?" in 5 frames!
I liked this film and part one. I do have a soft spot for the Lynch film and the 2 mini series on the sci-fi network. I am hoping that they don't pull punches on Dune Messiah
It's awesome to see fellow Dune fans enjoying the different adaptations of the story! Rebecca Ferguson alone gives me hopes Messiah is going to be wild
@lanayuenreviews So, how do they produce a one movie adaptation of Messiah, then forget the finale of the trilogy, Children of Dune? Imagine the Lord of the Rings movies but end the story at The Two Towers?
@@kenknowlton3085 they'll do what does Syfy network did with his combined Messiah and children into one long story.... Hopefully a little bit smoother... But that's my guess dude Messiah and children of Dune will be one story under the name Dune Messiah
@ianbrewster8934 I don't understand how they accomplish that. They adapted the first book into two theatrical parts; how can they do justice to the two sequels in just one movie. The SciFi Channel's miniseries, Children of Dune was 4.5 hours long.
Haha I'm glad to hear it! The outfit is just a bonus, my best friend likes to dress me 💞 I loved Dune and so glad I'm reaching other fans! I might pick up the books next ✨
The whole point of the movie is you’re not supposed to root for Paul. He’s is a false prophet leading the universe to death, and destruction. 61 billion people 💀💀
@@lanayuenreviews it says many times in the movie that the prophecy was planted by the benne gesserit to give Paul more power over them. That's cool that you're giving it another go with your mom. Hope she enjoys it more this time around! I'm with her on the 80s original too. I appreciate lots about it but I didn't *enjoy* it
You're right Lana. Part one was fine and became almost useless if we wouldn't have gotten the sequel. Now with the great second part it certainly got better.
Read the book in 1975 (rereading it again now) and saw the Lynch film at least twice, and the miniseries twice. Part one was technically top-notch but was missing the oomph! present in the book and even in the Lynch film to some degree. Have not seen part 2 yet but I still think Sting is the definitive Feyd-Rautha.
@@alancinematic Definitely a pretty good description of Sting at the time. You don't remember the Baron floating around with his suspensor unit and cackling like a crazy uncle? That was quite hilarious.
@lanayuenreviews Lynch's and Sci-fi Channel miniseries are dated but closer to the source material. Lynch messes up by making stupid sonic weapons instead of super-warrior hand to hand fighting, and making Paul god at the end and making it rain. If the Sci-fi Channel had the budget these two movies did, they'd wow visually too.
Totally get what you mean about the Dune movies. The Lynch version and the miniseries did have a different vibe that resonated better with the book's universe.

Sting as Feyd-Rautha is a classic choice! He definitely brought some oomph to the role. His first emergence out of that compartment was iconic!
