TRUTH!!! Some of our cats' nicknames cannot be repeated in polite company. LOL. But said with endless love.
My Pom Bella saved my life as well. A messed up surgery in the military cut my career short and left me disabled with nerve damage for the rest of my life. A divorce followed leaving me at the lowest of lows in 2010. This little dog is the only thing in my life that reminds me there are good days. Food and grooms brings out the dancer in her. Up on two legs and clapping her front paws together, she will just twirl until you give her attention. Still spunky all these years later and the best cuddler. I will be devestated the day she is no longer with me.

My mom is suffering from increasing dementia so her tiny maltipoo No lives with me. Between the agony of watching my mom fade, The death of my wife, and the death of my cat, the last year has been excruciating. If it wasn’t for this little dog there would be days or weeks at a time that I probably wouldn’t get out of bed much less leave my house. So yeah, in a very real way she is saving my life.❤

My 87 year old mom has a Pom mix who’s a million years old. She doesn’t hear well but she still has a massive appetite. I hope both of them live forever.

I got my puppy just before I realized that my marriage was over. He and I finished my degree, with him telling me that we'd read enough for the night, thank you. Decades later, his portrait remains hanging on my wall while he's in my heart. ❤

Gidget is adorable! I love how she puts her front paws up on your arm for the blow dry. So sweet.
I can say for certain, my cat saved my life. I got diabetes shortly before finding her alone without her mama. So I rescued her. Cleaned her up, fed her, and she's like velcro to me. She has a way of telling me when I'm going hypo, by bugging me, and laying on my chest. She's a super hero with fur. I can never thank her enough.
I adopted a dog one year ago when I was struggling with depression and anxiety. It helped me go out of the house and got me smiling every day. Dogs are true friends. ❤️

I am afraid I would have days were I couldn't take care of my dog properly when my depression is bad. That's the sole reason I don't have a dog, I wouldn't want them to suffer with me/from me :/
@@Vulture2k Yes, that's an important thing to consider. I didn't have a severe case depression and also, I have a very trong sense of duty so I managed. :)
@@Vulture2kmaybe you can try to foster a dog to see how you do. They're incredibly difficult to ignore or forget about.
My German Shepherd Nadia’s nickname was simply Puppy. Every time she did something good I said “Well done, Puppy” in an higher voice. Even when she was full grown I called her that. We did agility and joined many competitions with other clubs. People watching our performance always looked a bit astonished when they saw me clap my hands and praise Nadia with “Well done Puppy!” after the finish line, as she was huge!
We ended 3rd of The Netherlands in the debutant class. She loved agility! Even when cuddling or during walks I said Puppy to her.
She lived to be 13,5 years old and died in 2016. I miss her still! 😢

@@lurji most likely because you love your dog as much as I loved Nadia. She literally saved my life after my breakup with my boyfriend, that got me really depressed. She made me get out of bed to take her walking, rain or shine, 4 walks a day of which one always was close to or more than 1 hour. She deserved the best!

Gidget is such a blessing. I had a Border Collie who did a similar thing for me. I call her "My Friend, My Teacher and My Healer." She came to me in a difficult time in my life and taught me what life is TRULY about.
I miss her every day.

My Yorkie saved my life as well. I was in a dark place after the deaths of my Brother, Mother, and betrayal by family members. When our home was gentrified and we were displaced while waiting on pins and needles for the people to sign to close on our house I just was plunged into depression. My little lady literally saved my life.

Gidget is a very beautiful dog, and I’m happy that she helped you during a tough time. I have two pomeranians who also saved my life.
This is gonna be a bit heavy, but I was going through a lot of tough times with family stuff and whatnot. I was also dealing with pretty bad depression and was debating ending it all. One of my reasons for not going through with it though was because if I did, I knew my poms would realize I’m gone. The thought of them knowing I wasn’t there tore at me so I stuck around for their sake. They were the only things that made me truly happy during my bouts of depression, and I enjoyed caring for them a lot.
Eventually I ended up in a mental hospital to recover and all I could think about was how excited I was to see them again one day.
Had it not been for my dogs, I probably wouldn’t even be here. They’re pretty much the reason why pomeranians will forever be my favorite breed.

I had a Japanese Spitz who helped me during my darkest times in my late teens and early 20s. She wasn't a goofball breed (I would learn about that when I got a lab later on) but she was there when I needed her. Someone I could just confide in or just hug and cuddle to make it all feel better. It got so bad at one point the thought of her passing made me cry since I didn't know how I'd cope. But she helped me through it all so by the time I had to let her go, I could.
Gidget is one of the most adorable dogs these old eyes have ever seen. The way she stood with her front paws on her arm as you blew her majestic coat dry was so cute! It was like a performance. And I have to say…Lupe…OMGoodness what an absolutely precious pupper! I need to see some footage of him as well. I love it when you share your fur babies with us! ❤
My friend has a pom and he loved cats too. Sometimes she'd bring him over and he and my Persian would snuggle together in the cutest pile of fluff 💕
maybe it's their small size? My 4 1/2 pound dog was befriended by a cat, it came running across the street to see him in the front yard. They immediately started a game of chase, one after the other. It's like that cat knew my Sparky was too small to hurt him and maybe it had a dog friend once. It was fun to watch !
@@KindCountsDeb3773 I had a 16 pound cat that a friend's 7 pound pomeranian Ginger adored. The big gorgeous cat would tolerate the little yapster kissing him for about 5 minutes, then would stalk off to a higher spot where she couldn't reach him. He would proceed to wash off the kisses, then sit up there and ignore her. But she was always a fun visitor, even though he didn't appreciate her.

@@KindCountsDeb3773 That is sweet, and relatable (hairballs). We rescued a big dog that one of our cats thought was a present for HER. She would rub against the dogs legs & body while we would get this "make her stop" look from the dog. They often snoozed together, later.
I love to see what kind of dogs that dog groomers choose to have, because they see a large amount of breeds through their doors, and it's great to see what they have at home. Thank you for sharing, both of them are absolutely sweet.
She has other Poms and Lupa. She also mentioned she would love an American Akita but researched that they can be aggressive towards smaller dogs.
Good Smidge! My kitty, Autumn, saved me, too. She's seen me through illness divorce, breakdowns, panic attacks, you name it. She even sleeps under the covers with me. I don't know what I'd do without her. 💖 Currently, she is two and a half sets of white toes, most of a tail, and a lump beneath my blanket.
And she walks on a lead with me!
I love this living tribute and can totally relate. My late son, who I still talk about in present tense and is the love of my life, saved my life 18 years ago. Sadly, he passed away last spring and I'll never get over the grief of losing him. He is an aloof, pensive, and sweet-mannered half Tibetan Terrier and half Lhasa Apso, and looks like a baby OES with the paws to match. He also loves hanging out with cats and doesn't like socializing with dogs.
Lupa is SO big already! I can’t tolerate being around animals due to psychiatric disability, but I feel like I’ve gotten to know yours so well, it’s the perfect replacement. As cool as Kuma and the batshit huskies are, your pups have always been my favorite-I literally just dropped what I’m doing when I noticed you uploaded.

The internet is a great way to experience pets that you can't have for whatever reason, isn't it?
I know I'm not going to be a good owner for African Grey parrots or dogs or tortoises, but the joy of watching them fills in the void so I don't want them so much.
When I was doing my psychiatry rotation as a med student, I me a patient who was really young but had been living at the hospital for a while. He had a learning disability and loved animals but wasn't allowed to be around them because he would get overly excited and unintentionally hurt them (swinging/throwing them around, choking them). It was sad knowing he did not have any negative intentions.
I sympathise with you, whatever the issue may be and I'm happy you sill found a way to connect with animals.

She looks like she administers the cheese tax with a firm paw! Like you, my dog Benny Welsh Terrier came into my life when I most needed him. My mom had just died and my stepfather was expected to follow her within a few months. Dogs make the worst times bearable, give hope, and let us know that God does love us. Our oldest friend is our best friend, and like Gidget is for you, Benny is for me.
I'm so sorry about the timing of your mom and stepdad. I can't even imagine how overwhelming and difficult that was. I've had cats there to help me through the hardest, darkest times in my life and I consider 'fur therapy', as I call it, an absolutely invaluable mental health and wellness tool.
@@hoppytoad79 Thank you! Benny's breeders are old family friends and they told me I could stop over any time for a "Welshie fix". The first time I stopped over, Benny took a liking to me and was my shadow...I think he was either on my lap or next to me the entire visit. Same thing the next week. On the third week they asked me if I wanted to give him a home when he finished his show career later in the summer. It's been wonderful history ever since!

You can tell a lot about a pet groomer by what pets they keep and how well they're kept. You, my dear, are doing marvelously!!

They are both absolutely adorable. My Peke definitely saved my life. I got her just as I was diagnosed with a second cancer, having just finished treatment for the first. I was rock bottom, and this perky, sweet, loving, funny little girl took me over. She also loves cats and anyone else human or animal that comes her way. Bless them all is what I say, I would have a house full if I could but have to satisfy myself with her and her cat sisters. My cancers have both been in remission now for nearly 10 and 8 years. I'm sure a lot of it is due to her.
my oldest dog came into my life the year i graduated high school. it was a huge turning point in my life and i was really depressed but he made every single moment so much better. i truly believe we were meant to be together, hes my heart and soul and literally cannot live without him

Not long after I first started working as a Vet Tech in '99, someone brought a box of Pom puppies in for an exam, shots, and worming. They were all identical grey balls of floof, and the only indications they were puppies and not floor sweepings were the teeny little ear tips that just cleared the floof and teeny little muzzles poking out 90 degrees from the ear tips. I don't remember if eyes were visible. 😄The other tech and I were 100% squeeing mush over them. SO. FREAKING. ADORABLE!

I used to have pet rats, (one of which is my avatar) they were fantastic fun little fur balls that helped my through some of my dark periods. Laying on the sofa watching TV with 3 rats curled up on my chest was great therapy.
Rats are SUCH INCREDIBLE PETS, I miss mine every day. He watched tv on my shoulder or sat in my hood while I read.
The only reason I don't have rats is that I have a cat who would view them as lunch. They are literally the cutest little pets.

Oh don’t get me started on our pet rats…second to dogs as BEST pets ever! I never knew how deeply in love I could be with these animals, and the love they feel for their humans is astounding. One of the deepest bonds you can have with animals. I was not prepared to feel so devastated when the first one died. After several groups, we just couldn’t take the heartache every time one died. Their short life spans made for a lot of grief in our home…especially from me! And when my Aussie passed away from cancer at the age of 10, I grieved so much and for so long. I cried every single day for what felt like an eternity. I cannot even begin to fathom what losing one of my children would be like if I was so torn up over our pets.

i love watching you groom gidget bc she transforms so much when she's wet down and it always makes me laugh. i adopted my cat when my anxiety was better, but when it gets bad, she yells at me and demands cuddles until i feel better, and it's the best help i could ask for. animals are a blessing.

My Pom/Yorkie mix saved my life, Randy. He was bought for me by my husband after my mom passed away without warning in 2019, he really took my mind off of the hardest of times. And hes just like your baby, he LOVES everyone. Hes my little shadow, and he tries to protect my little girl from other dogs with his massive 5lbs body lol. Hes been my best friend, and grew up with my little girl has been such a blessing to watch.

When my second cat came into my life as a feral kitten it had been 10 years since my first
fur baby (cat) passed away. He healed my broken heart and then stole it too.
He will be 5 years old on the 29th of this month and I am forever grateful he's in my life.

This channel helps show all the different breeds that I would never have considered. I was never a fan of small dogs but now I have a small dog. Pomeranians seem a wonderful choice. I also loved Lee Ashers little Pom poms that recently passed. I have a rescue Pom, and this just warmed my heart! I love the breed. The food spins made me laugh - my 14 year old girl does the same thing! She tippy- taps, too, and it’s the most adorable food-dance.

@@capuchinosofia4771 Way late but Vanessa often dyes her paws. So dye. You can tell since it's more visible when the fur is fully dried. If it was skin it would be obvious when wet (say when she grooms Melvin who has hair loss).
I love when people have a breed they just can't live without. For me it's Hounds and Poodles. I can never get enough of how loving either are in their own way, how goofy they are, and how intelligent they are. I hope I'm blessed enough to always be able to have at least one hound and one poodle in my life at all times.
My first dog was a cockapoo, and she made me love poodles with all my heart. I still miss her and hope I can get another poodle someday!

I own a rescue (Australian Kelpie mix) with the same personality traits: never-ending appetite and a charming friend to all.
She also came at a stress ridden time in my life and has been an everyday doggatastic support along the way. :)
