looks good. My Tundra was recently in the shop so I had to drive my 84 k20 6.2 diesel to work. Temp was 104-110 that week. not a fun drive. Definitely need AC
I had multiple issues with using the factory switching levers. I ended up buying the controller one winter day when my defrost wouldn't cooperate. The electronic controller has presented zero issues and works perfectly
Sorry to hear but glad you found a solution! We have fortunately not had any issues with the controller on this unit but if we do we will grab the electronic controller. Thanks for the tip!
Yes. I finished the install in a later video. Here's the link. You can see the hose plumbing around the 2 minuet mark. th-cam.com/video/IfVgK_IRadE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the fast response. I was able to finish the ventilation portion today. I seen your other video about you hate wiring and I’m beginning to understand why lol
AC came as an option in GM trucks as far back as the 50s! That's why companies like Vintage Air are so great. You can put a modern AC system in just about any vehicle with either their SureFit Kits or Builder Series.
hey there Josh, good video... was there ever a part 2 to this video?
Just starting my vintage air install on my 72 c10. Mounting the evap coil seems to be a bit of a struggle for me. Truck is looking great. Awesome vid!
Yes, mounting that evaporator is for sure a 2 person job and thank you!!
Thanks for the video. Do you have an update to show routing your lines through the fender?
We ended up using the firewall plate provided in the kit. We started to run out of time and wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible.

What size hole saw was used to cut into the dash? Thanks!
Anyone know how to get the ducts over the factory ac duct adapters?!?! 1968 factory AC truck.
Did you have to drill new holes for the block plate on the firewall, or did it just screw in thru holes that were already there?

@@motortopiaondemand problem solved for sure! Vintage Air really does make a quality product.
What model or item number is the vintage kit, thanks
What factory switch levers are those? Are they for trucks that came with AC?
did you run the passenger vent hose over the evaporator?

@@tylervantine834 great to hear!! And yes wiring is probably my least favorite thing to do. 🤣
Nice
That’s exactly what I want to put in my truck to 68C 10 how much does it cost?
What did you use for a primer pen after drilling holes?
I grabbed a black paint pen off amazon.
How long did it take to install? What did you do pulley wise?
I think you could do this install in one weekend. This truck got a Holley accessory drive system and I used the AC compressor that came with it.
where did you buy the a/c? can you send me the link?
Link is in the description. It's a great AC kit!
Where is your shop located?
So when did GM start putting AC in their trucks??? I grew up in a 1990 chevy c1500 and that has AC

Where is part two, Part one was just the easy stuff. Part two is why everyone clicks this link.....
the language is childish and unnecessary.

Thanks Shane! You can follow our main IG page @streettrucks or contact Josh, the builder, through his IG page @bazertheblazer
