    I prepared an extra fitting attachment to this flash by fixing an extra ring suitable for Laowa 25mm 2x to 5x magnification ultr macro lens.It works perfectly.Yongnuo says ,we have to purchase an extra front light so as to fit it on to that lens and get power from a power ank.But my instrument prepared will fit suitably and works great.

      That's great. We photographers have to do such DIY things to get results.

    The ring flash I'm looking at has 8 adapters ranging from 49 to 77mm, but I don't know if one of those adapters will fit the Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm F3.5G ED VR macro lens well, so I don't know whether to buy the ring flash or not. I have seen that apparently no ring flashes come with adapter sizes below 49mm or above 77mm. How can I know if I actually will have the necessary adapter if I just go and buy that flash ring?

    • @KnowThatGear
      @KnowThatGear  ปีที่แล้ว

      Since the lens you wish to use the ring flash has a diameter of 52mm, it shouldn't be an issue and you'll be able to use the ring flash well with your 85mm micro lens.

    Excellent review of this gear, Pranath Sir this seems to be made for Canon body, any idea whether available for Sony system?

    • @KnowThatGear
      @KnowThatGear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is available for Sony as well. Did you switch to Sony from Nikon?

      @@KnowThatGear Yes Sir, long back, I had also posted it on our class grp. We also spoke about lens for Sony some time back over WA chat. I bought A7iii with Sony 50mm f1.8... And recently i bought Sony 90mm f2.8 macro lens as well. Wanted a light source for macro and this flash seems interesting... I was not able to find Sony version of this flash, hence asked you.

    sir i want to buy this to my rf 24to105 f4 then i want a 77 mm thread but it not included with the kit right or company will provide to buy the external thread like 77 mm so that i can buy this one sir?

    • @KnowThatGear
      @KnowThatGear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The option you'll have to use is buying a step down ring, 77 mm to 72 mm. That will help you use the flash with your 24-105 mm F4 lens.

    Can the light be diffused by any means?

    • @KnowThatGear
      @KnowThatGear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The light is more diffused than what we get from a regular portable flash. Also, since this is closer to the subject for Macro Photography, it creates a softer light. If any other means is used to diffuse it further, the power might fall(depending on the distance between the light and the subject) less as the Guide Number for this flash is only 14 Meters at 100 ISO.

    This is not a flash for portrait photography. Direct flash is not desirable with portraits as it creates flat lighting that is not attractive at all.

    I don’t think you know how to use flash for portrait photography, you NEVER use direct flash unless you have to…. Those images of the woman did not look natural at all.

    • @KnowThatGear
      @KnowThatGear  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you understand that there's not just one way in photography. Flat lighting not being used for portraits is a practice in most use cases, but it's not a rule. Also, in some cases for portraits, flat lighting is the preferred lighting.
