Have the mp400 for about 25 years. Still use it daily but it's seen better days. The knife and scissors are broken but I have abused it well and truly. Time for a new multitool.
I like the Gerber Suspension NXT the best. The Original Suspension isn't bad either from the couple of Gerber multitools I've had in the past. I gave them to a couple of my best friends because the liked them.
- Crucial: the Bullrush is also compact. - MP600: the Remgrit saw does not cut anything (perhaps tiles) and the blade exchanger accepts jigsaw blades that no longer exist on the market (thickness problem). For my part, Octane or Strata :)
Being using the Gerber Vise complimentary to a mod generic multitool whenever we're in the outdoors. It's one of those tool that we rather have & not need it etc. It came useful on many occasion, it's small but have succeeded in doing big tasks. Yeah..the Lockdown Drive do get a lot of heat but it's a great tool once you get use to it & making mods just make it better. Cheers for sharing mate. Australia say Hi.!!
I had a crucial years ago, used it as part of my bike tool kit. It had a pretty good knife and pliers. The screw drivers were useless though. The Lockdown, could be great but it needs extensive modifications. Now I have a Surge and a PS4 Squirt and a Gerber Prybrid. All I need in a pinch!
You aren't kidding about being rich to get the evo 650. Just saw the one and only listing on ebay. Coming in at a proud $580😳 It's the military tech version and also comes with a super set of the needle nose plier heads for fisherman.
Some Gerber “oldies-but-goodies” mixed in there. 👍🏻 However, I noticed your Nite Ize clip and had to say, that I stumbled onto those quite awhile back when I was trying to figure out how to put a clip on my Victorinox Electrician. I gotta say they stick pretty good with that 3M double sided tape. I have one of those button operated car key fobs that work like a key switch blade and thought hmmm 🤔, I bet one would fit on that too. Yep! They’re pretty nifty. They’re not quite as tight as a standard manufacturers clip, but it works.
Oh, I'm a big Gerber fan too! My favorites are still the MP600 MOD. I put in the base blunt nose, saw adapter and awl. Now This is the tool you need! I also really like the HXT Suspension. I think many underestimate it ... It turned out to be very comfortable, very light and very durable. Big thanks for the video. As always, it was very interesting to see you! 👍
The updated MP600 now has replaceable wire cutters the saw blade Walmart Lowes Ace & Home Depot carry them ones I am trying to get Resolve Flik Recoil and one or two more I try to get them new there is a eBay seller in France & Italy that has a lot of older ones still in the box. Don’t try the seller in Germany he will take your money then in a couple of weeks tell you he can’t reexport to the USA and your money will another couple weeks to get back to you.

The Gerber NXT is pretty nice. There's a lot of great Gerber's out there!

The MP400 is a lighter MP600. It definitely is a great tool!

I think so. I usually buy off eBay anymore. Prices new are just a bit crazy.
