      @@everymanedc9518 the worn PaTiNa on the scales is LEGENDARY. Due to the FACT that u can use ur own tools to take this thing a part. Id say if anything fails. Just buy a new 1 an remove its parts an replace with what broke on this 1 8)))

    • @everymanedc9518

      The problem with doing gear review channels is if you want to make new content you can't keep using the same gear long term. You can give very valid feedback with short term use but you definitely won't be able to speak to the long term durability.

    Hi from the UK. Very useful video. I have owned one of these for about ten years, it has not seen that much use as it was a back up for my Leatherman PS4. I always felt it was a cheap alternative for the latter but it has worked well when needed. At least Gerber are still making a multi tool of these dimensions as Leatherman don't seem to be any longer.

    • @everymanedc9518
      @everymanedc9518  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. The Leatherman was higher quality but since it's no longer available the gerber is the best currently on the market.

    I've had mine for about 7 years! The package opener is probably my MOST used tool. I open a minimum of 2-3 boxes a day and I've found nothing better for the job. I whip it out before I'll reach for a box cutter

    • @everymanedc9518

    I have been carrying the Dine as part of my “light EDC” for quite some time. It has been a great tool and I want to add that if you turn the bottle opener upside down, it will make a possible pry bar for light use. Like you, I have put is through some abuse and will attest that it can be used to strip 12 gauge Romex cable.

    The package opener is great for cutting open hard plastic packaging. My gripe with mine is the tools are very hard to open, even with adjusting the screws and applying light machine oil. Also, some of the nail nicks could be better placed. That slight modification would make great. Agree the file is useless but the bottle opener is great.

    • @everymanedc9518

  • @jelkel25

    I like mine, with a Victorinox Farmer you have a good variety of tools in a pretty lightweight and non bulky package for when you are putting in the miles. The pliers are the thing I really bought it for, they are good enough for outdoor use unless there are machines involved and then you take a full sized or specialised multitool. I've used the package opener to score wood when what I'm doing needs a little precision. It's a good light use multitool. I get the impression that there has been a few QC issues over the years which is a shame, generally I've found it better than cheap multitools and it isn't heavy on the pocket.

    • @everymanedc9518

  • @REB4444

    The bottle opener works great as an attachment point instead of that flimsy keychain ring, but yes, I've used it to actually open a foreign beer that didn't have a twist cap. The scissor works fine once you realize that it works best with the left hand. I also sharpened it a little more with a sharpening rod. The most used feature is definitely the plastic bubble wrap cutter that also strips wires, and opens boxes. Use it on the bubble plastic crap and it will save you many cuts on your fingers. The fail for me is the file on the screw driver. This is one of the best uses I get out of my Victorinox mini classic (scissors & nail file).

  • @jcon6734
    @jcon6734 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have one of these on my keys. Take my advice. Ditch the dinky little garbage keyring, and attach it to your keys with the bottle opener. It'll be much more secure, and you can even still use the bottle opener if you hold your keys to the side.

    Great video! Thank you! I've carried one of those Gerber Dimes in my pocket for the last 4 years. Now I buy them as gifts anytime I find one on sale. I use the "box opening blade" that you don't like much everyday. It is so useful! But to each their own.

  • @Caije

    I have one of these that I have carried for 2 years and I more or less agree with everything you said. It's a great tool I don't carry it all the time but I do always carry it when I don't have my victorinox on me. Sometimes I just feel like carrying a normal knife but I miss having the multi-tool option so if I have this on my keychain or in my watch pocket I feel like I'm good to go. And it really is very handy anytime you need it it's there.
