    Use the GPS in your phone with a bicycling app to clock your speed, before and after. The difference will tell you how sensitive the adjustment is.The highest speed of the mower is an advertising advantage, so the maker is not going to cut back a lot. The highest speed advertised may be from roll over specs and not simply a drive train condition. Remember, its the lawyers than tell the marketing department what they are allowed to put in the manual. That said, there are a lot things to look at before deciding how much you want to hop up the mower. If your lawn looks like the world's largest putting green, then you don't have to worry very much about roll over. Do you have a ROPS and a sun canopy? That raises the CG and increases roll over tendencies. Do you know that you will always be the only operator? Someone that is not as talented as you could do something awkward. Back to that first GPS speed measurement, if its slow, who can complain about bring it up to book value?

    Standing backwards on deck, on one leg, while full throttle, BUT.. wearing hearing protection! Safety first, my brother. Well played. I was really hoping you'd pull out a beer helmet with dual straws during that segment. 🤣🤣🤣

    For those of you who dont know , those stop bolts are there for a reason and they are most definitely not governors . I am sure the hydro drives are capable of quite a bit more forward or reverse speeds as they are built pretty tough . If you have 2 that are not synced , then something is wrong such as a drain and fill with clean hydrostatic drive oil and possibly on some models a filter change can fix any issue short of not operating at all . Doing this to a older mower will shorten its life by a long shot resulting in a very pricey repair bil and doing it to a newer mower will void your warranty as well as result in a very very pricey repair bill . I also saw some comments concerning governor removal or governor deletes . Tho popular in the kart and mini bike racing world this is part of a very popular and cheapskate mod to get more power . What you are actually getting when you remove the speed governor is a greatly shortened engine life as well as if not done correctly by adding a bilit aluminium flywheel then you also are creating a very likelihood that your flywheel will either fracture and become shrapnel and kill or maim someone or the most likely thing will be the magnets slinging off the flywheel and destroying whatever they come on contact with considering they will bew moving at a extremely high velocity . IF YOU WANT HP , SPEED , TORQUE , OR POWER , THOSE THINGS COST BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS TO MAKE THE MONEY TO BUY THEM . ITS A VICIOUS CIRCLE TO GET CAUGHT UP IN . YOU WORK MORE TO SPEND MORE TO GO FASTER AND BREAK MORE TO WORK MORE TO SPEND MORE TO FIX MORE , if you got it like that spend like yastole it , if u aint got it like that then id definitely not be using this guys advice to work on my kids bicycle ! JS

      Wow what a comment. I really appreciate the all caps. I agree I wouldn’t follow my advice either, can’t believe TH-cam let’s just anyone post crap on here.
      I think in your case you should fully extend those bump stops to slow your mower down and make it last longer and cut cleaner. ;)

      Removing the governor does raise RPM.. I won't argue with you about that. However, it doesn't raise the centrifical force to the point that the flywheel will shatter into pieces. Cast or aluminum. A connecting rod may break, or a valve floats and comes out of its keepers, maybe.
      You can save alot of blood, sweat, and tears by changing the fully ratio on the pumps and crankshaft. You don't need to mortgage the farm to get that done.

      My guy buddy are you a very by the book safe about everything you do or just wana be right about what something you heard or read in a manual the adjustments are there for the company’s sake of “safety” and they are there to be adjusted and as far as this motor coming to pieces 😂 well idk bout all that a valve might stick or the oil level might get pulled to the top of the motor cause of constant high RPM but it’s not a race car 🏎️ or Kart it’s a lawnmower and most every single lawn company I’ve seen or worked for pay attention to how fast they cut a yard if they didn’t adjust them they wouldn’t get as much done in a day and I’ve worked on a many of one even since I was a kid had an old Massey Ferguson with tractor tires no deck And pulley adjustments 😂 she was bad too in the mud not tryna bust ya balls but why be such a fun sucker for go have little fun in ya life and you will always have bills no matter what in your life if something happens it happens no need to waste the energy on it if you can’t do anything bout it just take care of it if you watching this video most likely you have some type of get shit done skill which means you either work on your own stuff anyway or don’t have the money to get something fixed in the first place hence the video your watching which in turn means your gona fix your own stuff anyway so go have some fun and make your lawnmower faster so you can have more time to go have more fun 👌🏻 ok 👌🏻 ok 👍🏻

      @@im-that-guy-pal Just to clarify. Generally RPM is associated how hard the motor is working, which is adjusted by the throttle control just like your car. Pushing the lever farther forward is merely controlling the pressure that the corresponding transmission is building and thus propelling your tush.

    Hey Mike, love the video! I’m curious to know though…what else can I do to give my Z-turn a bit more zip? It maxes at about 11mph with the governors removed, which is MORE than enough for mowing the yard, but I have to drive it about .5 miles down a paved road to get gas. Close enough not to need a trailer, but just far enough I want to save a couple minutes.
    Some dude once told me that a larger fuel tank adds fuel pressure and makes it go faster, but that sounds like massive load of BS lol

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha that is total BS. I think you are maxed out on speed at 11mph. That is zipping it.
      The only other thing you could do is either put a larger pulley on the crank or smaller pullies on the top of the hydros to make that belt spin faster. That would be a science project though and would change belt sizes. In theory you could get some smaller rear tires also just for the ride but would have to change them out when you got there.
      Thanks for watching

    Spent the past few hours watching videos and disassembling GXV630 on a Cub Cadet RZT-L46 trying to locate/fix the governor. It went from full throttle to wtfo banging of the rev limiter while mowing this morning. Any chance you have a video on that?
    Comin up short on the Tube on this one

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not on my channel. I would check your throttle cable bracket and make sure it isn’t slipping in there. Or it may have an air leak making it lean out and rev high. Can’t rely on the TH-cam for everything will need to do some trial and error. Good luck

    What do you do when one side wants to creep when in the neutral position? My left side creeps. It’s also very loose, ie not as responsive, as my right side. Cub Cadet Zforce 44.

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would adjust neutral and adjust the throttle speed. Also would make sure everything is tight.

    Hi Buddy, I have a 2007 i1046 Zero Turn Tractor that has been through multiple owners, and everyone fiddled around with it to the stage where it would not work at all. Now I have it and I have sorted out the wiring and it starts easily now. My problem is that when I run it, the left wheel turns a lot faster than the right wheel. Can you maybe send me a photo of the steering box in place and connected as it should be, as I think they have something wrong with the position of the gears and links to the rear end. Please send me photos from the left side and the right side so that I can see the position of these links when nothing is activated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mike just subscribed. Im new to the 0 turns.....bought my Cub Cadet Zforce 48" used & the left doesn't have the same power as rh. Both stop bolts are all the way in. I see these dampers or shock things on each hydro that look bad. Could that be my problem or is there a way to adjust the brackets on the hydros so both are equal? I do see a bolt in the middle of said bracket that looks adjustable....that the dampers are attached to. Thanks for any help.

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All I know about them is in my videos. I am sure those dampeners could be bad just get some new cheap ones on Amazon and bolt them on. You may need to slow down one side to even out your speed

    SO how do you remove the governor off the back of the motor, that's wat I came for lol. That's not a governor, that's like a throttle stop

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t know of a Governor on the hydro motor itself. I suggest you keep searching TH-cam.

    Hi mike, I have the exact mower. Will this damage the mower? I bought mine for dirt cheap, what can cause one of the hydros not to work. I really don’t want to have to split it if i don’t have to.
