    I bought my Mustang 50 to replace my "almost: th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend worn out John Deere L120 (48" Cut - 20 HP Briggs). First off - I can now mow my almost 3 acres in about 1/2 the time it took with my other mower... I have had the Mustang 50 for almost 2 years now... Maintenance is easy - the Kohler Motor is "out in the open" and everything, except for the oil filter, is VERY easy to get to... To change the oil filter I have learned to fold the seat forward - no problem now... The deck is SUPER easy to drop... Rememb..

    Couple things to consider before starting this: 1) check tires for proper inflation. 2) Excessive wear can mean something else is off, such as a bent axel which will cause scuffing, drag. and 3) One guy suggested check for matching tires. circumfrence may vary with mismatched brands or tread patterns which will throw off not only steering, but even deck height as well.

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      right you are. this mower at the time was fresh from the dealer, new as can be. had matching tires, almost no wear on the drivetrain, and I made sure the tires were properly filled before mowing each day, thus I felt safe trying this option. I likely should have mentioned all those things in my video, but I'm still learning how to make better videos.

    I think Jeremy Wells is correct. My Hustler was not going straight and I made the adjustment as suggested in your video and some others. Now my mower goes straight but the neutral position is off. When in neutral the mower still tries to drive forward even when the levers are pushed outward to apply the brake. So that means that the gears are always engaged which I don't think is good for the drive train. To correct this I jacked the back tires up in the air and readjusted in neutral until the tires remained still, not creeping forward or backward. I'll need to find a different way to adjust the drifting problem. Never thought it could be the tire pressure, but I will take a look.

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, he's correct, but that's not the only possibility in the case of a misaligned drivetrain. I suppose this video is not the definitive fix, but rather one POSSIBLE fix. thanks for the comment.

      @@nybergsgarage it’s probably your float in the carb is too low so it’s starved for gas. Could be junk in carb. I’d pull the bowl spray with cleaner adjust just slightly to allow more gas in the bowl and see if it helps, could try the filter first

    I have a Question
    I have a Cub Cadet RZT-50, it will not move forward but it will move in reverse. What will cause this.

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming that's a zero turn mower. It could ne misaligned drivetrain like in this video, and that would be the most likely thing because mowers drive their wheels with a belt, and they don't use a separate belt for forward and reverse. It could be adjusted so badly it won't engage forward. I would advise you to try what I show in the video, but without more info I can't be more specific.

    i have a new zero trun and the handles arent even , it doesnt move by itsekf but it does not drive straight , how do i fix this

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks for the question! If you watch the video here you should see about where any zero turn's drive alignment adjustment is, however, if the handles arent even you should first check if the handles have bolts you can loosen and adjust teh angle of the handle, I know the one in this video has them, that could be your problem, but if it isn't, then you should look into adjusting the actual drive train alignment. hope this helps! feel free to throw me any other questions you might have.

  • @rackemwells

    This is how to adjust for neutral and not the tracking adjustment, at all. This will only throw off your joysticks and make neutral creep horribly, along with making the pumps whine. It also can cause this linkage to be under great strain.

    ADJUST REAR TIRES AIR PRESSURE!!!!! DUH! Explained: will veer towards side with lower tire pressure. Veering left, increase rear left tire pressure.veering right,increase rear right tire pressue. If no change,then decrease side opposite to turn

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, that can be the case at times, but the drive train can be out of alignment also. I don't think a 5-10 psi difference will change how the vehicle drives, really.

    • @nybergsgarage
      @nybergsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @tomvet4411
      @tomvet4411 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wadetaylor9974 the way he fixed it in the video is the exact way you fix it, not by changing your tire pressure. If the way he fixed it in the video wasn't the way to fix it why would those adjustments even be there? One tire would be have to be at below 50% to make a difference in the way it drove. If you're driving your mower with one of your tires at lower than 50%, you've got bigger problems than whether your mower will go straight or not.
