My 99 metro brought me here...I like the look of the older Geo's better. That's a nice one, take care of it. Tons of them in Oregon, mostly complete beat and rode to death. I would believe the grandma story on this one, it looks new. I put a radiator in mine twice and just did the serpentine belt today, this car is super easy to work on. Mine is stick, no AC, I have heard that be prepared to lose most of your power when the AC turns on.
I traded it for a 4runner a little under a year ago. I still miss it every day. And yes you loose all power when the ac is on. I want a nother one but I doubt I will find one in similar condition.
I put a 180 degree thermostat in mine and it stayed on the lower end. You probably have 195 degree thermostat! Making it run a little “hotter”. Old video but maybe this helps out someone else

Ive got the 91 Pontiac firefly convertible and it’s running well. Although a little rough cosmetically
