I BOUGHT A Geo Metro For $300 And FIXED It In ONE DAY

  • Not only did I buy a Geo Metro, I bought the rare XFi trim with the best fuel mileage. It was rated the Most Fuel Efficient Vehicle In America for it's entire production run. This Geo Metro was $300 as the owner said it was broken but Tyler had no issues driving it to my house. Once we got it home I cleaned it up with Gabe, then we fixed in a few minutes and went out to get 1/4 mile times from it. It only cost $50 to fix, and only takes 17 seconds to do 60mph. At least it was easy to sell, I posted it and it was paid for in less than 10 minutes.

What do I do for a living? Make TH-cam videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?

Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

I had one of these I paid 500.00 for, it had 62,000 miles on it and belonged to a Nursing home. I was going to work one morning and a guy ran a red light and swiped the front end, I got 1400.00 from his insurance and fixed it myself for 300.00, next a lady backed into me at Walmart and caved in the passenger door, 650.00 for that and I repaired it for 75.00 with a door that was the same color. Then about a year later my neighbors tree fell on the roof and the insurance totalled it @ 2400,00, I sold it to another neighbors kid for the engine and transmission for 500.00 so I managed to make about 3700.00 off that little car and drove it for 3 years !!!

Oh man, my first brand new car was a 2 door hatchback Geo Metro LSi (it was all white, including bumpers)! I absolutely loved that thing! I had it for 12 years before some (redacted) in a jacked up 4x4 literally ran over it. The cost to fix the crushed side panels and doors was more than book value, so the insurance company totaled it. For such a small, under-powered vehicle, it was super reliable, comfortable to drive, and with the back seats folded down, held a surprising amount of stuff! For a girl right out of high school, the Geo Metro was affordable enough to buy, insure, and keep gassed on a minimum wage job. I miss that little thing...

Turns out he was correct. It only cost me $250 to fix it. I daily drove it for a few months then randomly had the idea to convert it into a pickup truck. I had zero experience with such a task, but figured with such a minimal investment this was the perfect car to experiment with. Things turned out better than I expected. It was missing the passenger side mirror.
The trunk struts were replaced with a 2x4 and if you had it propped open and someone slammed one of the other doors then you had a minor concussion.
The seat covers were old sweatshirts
The windshield wiper handle was a screwdriver that was glued it.

I was a fanatic about preventative maintenance and it paid off with being very reliable. 3 timing belts, spark plugs a few times and several brake jobs, tires and shocks. No major failures. I had a 90 metro XFI ... the 5-speed transmission went out when it was about 10 years old
from the time it drove into the garage -> to the time it drove out with a different transmission was a little over an hour - by myself with only a floor jack and hand tools
it was the easiest vehicle I've ever worked on
I'd still drive one of these

My dad used to have one of these. Being a kid, it felt awesome to "launch" it on the green light. Turn the ac on full blast, start to go, and then immediately shut the ac off and it was like a turbo boost lol He sold it to the mailman for $500

Tires from Sears were about $25 each. I think the snow tires were around $35, and because they're so narrow, they cut through the snow VERY nicely.

@@elcheekoful It was on mine. I also changed out the square headlights that came on the Geo Metro for the Suzuki Swift Headlights witch were more stylized. They are a exact swap in every way down to the wiring harness, power conectors and all etc…. of the square HL and it’s black frame with the Suzuki Swift’s sculpted form fitting HL.

One of my brother's friends back in high school had a Geo storm and his little sister head 1 of these cars that they had rattle canned pink.
One night the latter goes off the road and get stuck in the mud. So, her brother thinks he can get the car out. And then he gets stuck.
They then call me and I pull them both out with my pickup. And the kicker is the mud was barely past my ankles.
