That Ford Ranger would be an awesome truck for Nick! Not too big, not too small, easy to work on and parts are very affordable! I would mark that truck as a winner for Nick's first rig.
I am so excited to see the metros on the channel! It may sound crazy but I love when you do these old ones that need help. I honestly hope you got all of them.
My grandparents had an dodge intrepid and drove that car everywhere. Colorado twice California and everywhere else. Loved that car. Think it just finally wore out. Grandpa was a mechanic for 20 plus and kept it in top condition.
I buy every Geo Metro that people sell around here. Which is only four or five. 50 mi per gallon with a stick 38 mpg with an automatic. But I can't keep them people offer double the money I paid. The only one I sold at Cost was a convertible project car and the only reason that I sold it was to a grandfather he lost his son and daughter-in-law and had taken their kids he wanted the car so that he and his grandson could bond putting it back together. I also had a 91 Geo tracker 4 wheel drive that was fantastic I used to hunt Diamondbacks off-road and it would go anywhere. I gave it to my son and he totaled it trying to impress two girls... Thanks Barclay.
Was thinking the same. Can't have a bunch of friends in it making him do stupid stuff. Though the 2.5 diesel would be better, still the V6 is still OK.
I used to have a later model red Geo Metro. Loved it! Can you believe the insurance company charged me more because of the color and it was two door, they classified it as a sports car... a 3 cylinder sports car, couldn't even make it up a hill at more than 45mph. 😂
La-See-Brey. I really appreciate and love that pronunstication, Randy. I really wish those Metro Convertibles could’ve been saved. They were very cool. I’m wanting to say they even had a power top which was actually a surprise even in the 90s.
I kind-of hope Randy will buy all of them. I bet he can get them all for less than $1000 and that way, he’ll have parts. And yes, definitely save the stick!
It is hard enough to want to buy a Geo Metro today when they have basically no safety vs modern cars and the last person to praise it was a fellow coworker more than a decade before for MPG. Now hybrids are more useful for that for safety and for beater cars there are better options on the cheap without risking reliability or safety. 💀
Actually those Geo Metro cars are the Suzuki Swift cabrio and coupé hatch cars so a japanese Model that was a rebranded name for the US market, now these could be a Nice project car you buy 3 to make a good One
I actually like the Intrepid and the Eagle Visions. They are roomy and sleek looking. Ride and drive good. My big complaint was the poor headlights on the first generation cars. My preferred interior was the base model interior with the cloth split bench seats.
I guess all of them are in OKLAHOMA. Did you see the tracker behind the white one? I know I could get all the parts for my 94 4-door and basically turn it in to an xfi.
The 2.3L Mustangs are dogs but damn those engines are tough. I owned an 88 LX 5.0 SSP from the Florida Highway Patrol. I had a buddy who owned an 85 LX notchback with the 2.3 L, a 4-speed and had a rear spoiler from a GT on the truck and the hood was painted like a GT. It was white with black trim. It looked awesome! That engine was a dog and when you tried to shut it off it would spark knock. You couldn’t kill the thing. He and another friend drove from Tampa (where we have a Busch Gardens) to Virginia where they have another one. Unbeknownst to them, they were closed when my friends drove up. They came back and somewhere near Orlando the Mustang started running hot and I think they kept running it that way. Eventually they called another friend who drove up, helped them change the radiator and thermostat and they finished the trip and the car never had any negative repercussions from running it hot. It reminds me of my stepdad’s old 300-6 that he did the same thing to. Moral of the story, the 4-cylinder Mustangs are easy to make fun of, they are slow but damn that engine is bulletproof. My friend’s 4-speed was so sloppy, so awful but that in the engine matched perfectly and gave the car character. I had a 5.0 fox but I respect the 4-cylinders. They may not be fast but they’re tough and get the job done.

Glad to see you didn’t quit doing videos yet really enjoy them . If doing all those videos in a short time just cut them down to where you can get some rest and spend time with Jessica and Nick. Really enjoy the weekend videos of you and Mike and Santa.
My Newyorker had a 3.3. It was a pig but had enough power and I didn't have any issues with it other the water pump. Wasn't an expensive fix. I loved the car even though it was tried to kill me. And I couldn't afford to fill it. The GM 3.1 felt like it had more torque. I wish I kept my '90s Cuttless Supreme. I've never had a good automatic transmission.
The 3.3's were very reliable they were on par with the competition for performance for the era for Domestic and Import brands..My Mom had a Dynasty with a 3.3 and it was good on gas, decent performance and comfortable and very reliable, never any issues. She had it until 2006.16 years 200,000 miles,I did do a waterpump and struts besides that oil changes and coolant changes as per manual..
@@MikeekiM-vh5seThe struts on my car where so bad it the the road on bumps. I didn't know that bad struts can make the rear end really loose. The rear hitting a pole is what killed my Newyorker.
Love the 3 Geo's actually. Hardly see them anymore and sometimes they are in great shape sometimes not. The Escalade is definitely a contender for videos and maybe the F-150! The Ranger would be pretty cool as well. Love the videos Randy keep it up and appreciate it!
From what I understand, the Chrysler LH cars were actually designed or the start of the design process started with AMC. Chrysler inherited it when they purchased American Motors. I have a soft spot for those. One of my best friend’s parents had two of them- an Eagle Vision and I believe a Chrysler New Yorker. I remember when my friend’s parents bought the cars new and they were quite cool and quite different for the time. They didn’t keep the cars for a crazy long time but I don’t remember tgem having any major issues with either cars and they were plush and comfortable.
Good morning Randy. The 1998 Geo Metro LSi is a decent looking car. The Geo Metro is a decent looking car. The red Geo Metro is a decent looking car. They all 3 need a lot of love. You should bid on all 3 Randy and make one car out of them.
I used to have Chevys version of a Geo Metro and it was a $100 beater car and it lasted me about 2 years and the only repair was a tailpipe and muffler 😊
Hey buddy! At 24:05 there’s what looks like a sweet white Trooper. Some of those had locking front and rear lockers. They made incredible 4x4 off roaders. You should check it out next time.
Dodge intrepid we’re actually very reliable the biggest issues I had on my 97 and 99 intrepid were tire rods upper and lower both sides and sway bar links and ball joints like every year or two! Needed to be replaced…and steering colum at 110k miles And motor mounts by 120k miles and power steering by 150k But the repair work wasn’t more then $500 at a time…usually. I had a triptonic auto a/c on one car and reg auto trans on the other. One was purple and other was a hunter green I loved the green one had a sunroof and leather and good pick up and go…
Am I the only one who wonders if Randy.. in all his years of car discovery, ... has ever.. run Into a live rattlesnake in any of the cars that he showcases????
Cool. I am fascinated with these little roller skates. I dis respected them when they were new. Now when I see a one of these things show up for sale, I check them out.
In that Generation, you could either get the 2.7 or 3.2 V-6. They did make a Police Package of that car with the 3.5 HO V-6 and I think you could get it in the ES Package later on.
I had a Ford Ranger, that I got rid of last year after it sat for a while. It had a blown head gasket that I just never got the money to fix. I hated selling it, it was the best vehicle I had ever owned.
If you get at least one of the Metros, here's an idea: Turn it into an Australian style ute. I'd buy all three of them for the parts, though. Also, please buy the F150 4x4 and see what that thing can put up with off-road.
Hey Randy, don't die out there! That heat is serious. I think I just noticed the camera overheating towards the end too. You got fuzzy towards the end. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Someone i know owned 5 metro convertibles, when i asked him why he liked the car so much he said "Why wouldn't I, they're tiny, easy to mess with, and can park anywhere." The ranger was one of fords best vehicles, least the v6, hated the 2.5 4 liter they used.
