Omg the way he nudged you right after calling him lazy 😂
He knows he’s in good hands with you!
He looks lovely
To this armchair equestrian he appears healthy, calm and gorgeous! Sorry to read he has cancer, I hope it can be addressed.
He's drop-dead gorgeous. What a beautiful head.
Glad You Have Him ! He's Adorable & Seem's Like A Character .
Oh he is!
At least she didn't put him in a auction and she surrender him
He's a Gem !! And beautiful ❤..i would never give him away 😢
He’s a beautiful horse! ❤💝
Hes so pretty. Acts like hes not seen or been able to eat grass for awhile.
He sure is a nice horse, for being surrendered.❤
We agree! With training he's really coming along
He looks great 👍 Beautiful boy 😊
With unknown or unbroken horses, we used to put a sack of oats on the saddle first to see how they handled more weight. It's an old- school trick.
Donated! I hope Scout makes a swift and full recovery. He is so beautiful and sweet, and you are already off to a terrific start with him. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you SO much! We will have a video on it soon!
He's gorgeous!! You have such a calm demeanor that he seems relaxed. My old mare loved trail rides but was bored walking in a pen.. One thing I've learned about having two very different horses was; one hated being manhandled & would try to hurt you so she needed me to be stern. My other young ex-racehorse responded better w/calm & kindness.
The first farrier was a bully & the horse was so upset I told him to leave. The second farrier was the Horse Whisperer..
It to see thanks
He did great
He’s absolutely beautiful beautiful horse little bit a training and I think you’ll be an awesome guy
The horse in this video is beautiful. He also seems to have had a lot of good training in the past (before you got him). Unfortunately, when you pair a trained horse with an untrained rider, you have LOTS of miscommunication between the two. And soon, trust is eroded and eventually gone. But now that you have him, maybe you can earn his trust (because you obviously have the skill). And maybe he will blossom under your leadership. He does seem like he's got a sense of humor!
I dont know anything, but he sure is cute!
he’s SUCH a cutie!!!
Good job !!!!!!!!!
He is a gorgeous handsome young man!! He looks like he needs a strong gentle owner. Understanding his behavior.
He is absolutely adorable. I love his colors of brown and white.
Eating on the run 😂 so cute ❤
👍 so far so good I think she wanted a new horse 🐎
New to your channel, great information!
Thanks & Welcome!!
Wow he is perfect and he is a beauty....he listen...just awsome ❤❤🧡🧡❤❤
He is adorable!!
He absolutely adorable 💜💜🐨🐨🦘
His potential names: Champ, Snax, Stunning (because oh my gosh, he is!!!), Munch, Smore and Lip!
Snax is a great name!
I think he just got his bluff in on the inexperienced owner.
he’s looking very sweet , absolutely thrown a rope with no harness over my shoulder and didn’t realise, love your work
😊 thank you
He started getting a sassy attitude when you started to saddle him. Last owner may not have had good experience and he did something she didn’t understand and it scared her. Once your owner gets scared it can forecast down the reins to the horse. I think he’s in a good place now
He's a beauty ❤❤❤❤❤
Steve Young gives you great way of looking at mind set and he works with horses that are troubled ,but is kind doing it..
I prefer Warwick Schiller myself🤷♀️
Haha, I love him expecting a snack. He turned to the gate and stopped and it was like Man, I just did a 180 and stuck it, what do you want. 😅😂❤
You have a nice touch training. Little surprised you don't ask him to respect your space. He seems a little pushy, and I would imagine he will become more so with treats.
Unless it's dangerous I don't ask for that in the first sessions - aiming for trust and get a sense of where they're at. He's very respectful now 🙂
@@rhfarmstables Thanks, that makes sense.
So handsome! He would be my speed….more whoa than go!
He needs to respect you, no bumping you like that. He’s cute as button though and you’re so kind☺️
Very food motivated. LOL
Right?!
Maybe they were impatient with him. Someone will love him.
He is adopted now ❤️
Angus, Cherokee, and Denver might be good names to consider.
Thank you for this video. 😊. But Pleeeease place the nose and of that halter up higher. It is placed on an extremely fragile part of his nose, which can not o oh break if he pulls suddenly but also it's like if your glasses fall down on your nose you and breathe as freely. Research will explain it a lot better than I can here. I'm just truly trying to be helpful because I wished I had had more information when I was younger cuz I sure made a lot of mistakes due to not having the information and knowledge I wish I had had. Thanks for a great video, though! 🐴😊
Check the other comments on this 👍 thanks for watching
That was the first comment I had, too!
Halter is a tad big for him. Such a nice horse. Do you think owner knew he had cancer when he was surrendered? Shame if they knew and didn't tell you. Just started watching today. I subscribed.
Welcome! Owner claims they didn't know 🤷♀️
Horses can sense your nervousness too.
How about Houdini?
You might find he is really lazy as you said. It also looks like he may using eating grass while working trying to waste time. I would not be giving him treats while he is working or training i feel he will start using that to waste time aswell. He is smart.
Too many snacks
Okay my guess is the owner was not experienced with horses and had a fear. This being a pretty mellow and very smart horse that probably reads the vibrations of people well I'm assuming the farrier thought of animals as a meal ticket. Just a dumb animal without feelings and a means to make money. Think the horse pickup on peoples attitude and vibes. You may be a breath of fresh air for this snax munching big guy. He was puddy in your hands.
Yours is a good rescue ❤ .. some just aren't 😥
I think the name freedom is great
I wonder if the farrier didn't click either? My horse gets very upset if he's manhandled too much.
Could be! We've had bad farriers in the past for sure
I don't think he's going to be an energetic horse. One of the commenters said something about cancer but I did not hear that in the video. That would explain laziness. There are more horses that are slow. But I think he's a good horse and a nice personality and just need someone with confidence who doesn't necessarily want to go fast a lot.
Good looking boy. May have been in the field a little bit way to long and was not getting exercised. Seems to be a good horse other than being lazy.
He's gorgeous!
I think he’s pretty tremendous. I think the girl did a good job giving him to you because he needs a more efficient rider!!!
One that’s not afraid to ride him but needs good training and I think he’ll be fine.
Do you have him for sale or are you going to have him for sale?
Ace has been adopted into a wonderful home very close to our farm.
Owner needs horsemen ship skills she didn't need to blame it on the horse
Think maybe just not quite the right leader he needed
Good of her to be responsible and surrender the animal, she can't handle
You need to fit the halter better. Way too loose. I speak from experience it will not be pretty. Never hard tie or loose to panels. They will move and will end in a wreck. You’re doing a great job figuring him out!!
would like to soon see a rope halter
Helmet!
🫡
You're supposed to be his mom 😜
@11:06, who u calling lazy? he is a cutie .
😂 he is!
I like what you’re doing, helping horse’s & people.
Just curious, why in your videos the rope halters are tied like that?
So the tail is facing forward, towards their eye?
Maybe there’s a benefit I’m unaware of?
I know people have different ways of doing things, and they have their reasons.
Thanks for the video😊
If I'm just throwing it on sometimes I'll do it "backwards". I believe I did have it proper here at some point but its an old halter and very floppy - hard to keep its shape.
I think the owner needed training, not him!!
Sometimes thats the case
Where is this rescue located? Can't adopt if you don't know where to find one!
We're in NC!
@@rhfarmstables Thats awesome
So he is not a starter horse
What kind of rider would he be a good fit for him
Not a complete beginner, but safe for an advanced beginner.
@@rhfarmstables thank you
Love the content, hate the music. I have autism & can't read a book & listen to background music at the same time. Actually I can never listen to background noise, something is either on or off.
Watch on mute w captions?
I watch a lot of stuff on mute with captions, too
I like you guys, but tighten up that rope halter. It's falling pff his nose!!
Do yall do adoptions???
Yes we do! Link to adoptable horses is on our website
@@rhfarmstables Okay Thank you I will check it out.
How much do you want for him? 😍
Ace will be staying to receive training for our lesson program! He'll need a new home after about a year or so
