Excellent work! It's important to keep in mind when starting a cleaning business, you will likely need to build a team to clean different establishments. That is why it's crucial to include background checks as part of your screening process on potential team members. Building trust with clients is vital to establish long-lasting relationships, and background checks can help ensure that your business is perceived as trustworthy by your clients. It is important to put in the effort to establish trust with clients before they allow unsupervised access to their office or home.

I love business. Chris seems well educated on how to run a well rounded business not sure if that’s his background or not but great job! Very informative video 👍🏽
Everyone is jumping into housekeeping businesses. There won't be enough employees if you all run a business as cleaners. Honestly, not all of you will make it, you have to really like to clean vs getting into it to only just sit behind a desk doing all the paperwork, while others do the labor. This career is a labor of love, community & CONSTANT interaction with those whom you serve. The question is, are you likeable, are you honest, are you really there to help make a difference in others lives, or just take the money & run. Your clients will notice!!! Mine can tell the difference between me & the last company who cleaned, a massive gap. My clients are like long lost families to me, they resonate on the same level as me, they care if Im doing well, as I care for them. My clients are truly the BEST. I'm all day, every day, multi-tasking with them, their lifestyle schedules, conversing with them till the cows come home really. Sometimes I feel like Elvis, & sometimes Santa Claus. Lol. I joke with their kids, their pets come up to me like were old friends, & I've even had lunch &/or dinner with some of my clients. They can't get enough of what I do for them. It's VERY fulfilling & humbling. Massive amounts of GRATEFULNESS. So if you're in it for the wrong reasons, like making a fuckload of money. You won't be successful. You will have losses. You are not in the right mindset to do what is required. Therefore, causing chaos out of the need to survive versus working together. I have 14 clients, and growing (weekly/biwkly). And when I add a couple of employees they will be expected to be at the same level, working as a team who cares as much as I do. It's all about karma. Law of attraction. Divine Time. Not greed & survival mode. (No, I don't respond to negative replies. Which means, you don't resonate with this. If you have done the internal work, within yourself, then your outside world will 'project' it. That's the only advice I'll give you.)

I use Paypal business for customers who want to pay with credit/debit cards. Because it has an invoicing system, some people prefer this for tax write offs etc. The way the system is set up is very quick and easy to use, for both me as the business owner, and the client. They do charge a percentage of every transaction though which I'm not a fan of, but every system that accepts card payments does, that I know of. As far as billing, for residential customers, I require payment the same day of services. They can pay me in cash, check or via paypal. If the customer isn't home at the time of services (they normally aren't), I will tell them how much it will cost and they leave the money. If they are paying with a card, I will email them an invoice before leaving the residence and they always pay within a few hours.
Hi, my opinion on how you can improve your podcast is by using warm classical background music instead of what you currently use. Classical music is proven to stimulate your mind whereas I personally find the current music distracting.
For a small accident like what happened with your employee's wrist, would you not have been better off to just pay her medical bills and off-time yourself, instead of using insurance?

If they're not telling you upfront how much the course is, that tells me that it's possibly very expensive. I hate when they try to sell me like some late night TV infomercial. Give me that price up front.
I loved this video lots of insight forsure, there was one social network I noticed he didn't mention that would help him gain more traffic and that's LinkedIn. So please pass that along to him. I love his customer service and the way he treats his employees. Keep up the work
How do you manage your scheduling with the Airbnb cleanings? Do you use any software or programs that sync clients Airbnb accounts with your scheduling?
Before employment, companies would usually have a contract inclusive of all the "rules". This would usually include what to do should theft be involved. Hope this helps! ☺️
Pay people better and don’t wear them down. Higher pay, shorter hours $30/hour+ take home plus an hour for travel. If they can make what they need in 4-5 hours a day. Say $150 take home. That’s a lot better for retention. Then don’t try to be a multimillionaire off one business. That’s when you’re taking too much from the bottom and abusing people. Put your money into other passive or near passive sources to grow it more. Pay your people well. Don’t take it all at the top. Big key to retention.
It's a good idea to give them more money for less hours. That way they're not worn out. Or offer them a shorter work week. You'll need more people but I think retention is higher. Most people don't want to clean foever, so I think turnover is gonna be natural. Have a good process for hiring and like he said in the last video, have a great company culture to insentivise retention.
@@CristobalMondragon Hi Cristobal, i'm in HR/Recruitment so employee retention and acquisition will probably come easy to me. I know exactly where to look here in Toronto but the 'customer acquisition' is what's making me hesitate. Is it all marketing? how do I go about acquiring customers.
This is a good question and something that I worry about with my own cleaning business. Background checks, comb through their social media accounts if you can to get a decent feel for what kind of person they are, references and also making sure your business is insured and bonded. If a customer has alot of valuables around, something that makes them feel better is knowing that they are fully covered in the event anything is damaged or stolen.

Any suggestions on where to purchase the cleaning supplies?
Thanks for your info
Hi, my opinion on how you can improve your podcast is by using warm classical background music instead of what you currently use. Classical music is proven to stimulate your mind whereas I personally find the current music distracting.
I think the music's nice

For a small accident like what happened with your employee's wrist, would you not have been better off to just pay her medical bills and off-time yourself, instead of using insurance?
When the workers goes to the hospital they get asked where did the injury happened, it they say it wasn't while working they don't get coverage. Since it did happen at work they won't be lying to the doctors
How did he fine his customer support in the Philippines 9:07
Hello UpFlip. I have sent multiple requests on the course's homepage with some questions I have with no response. I wanted to know if this course gives you full training on how to actually clean and the train employee on how to clean. Also the refund policy on the home page states 30 days no questions however if you click the link for the term it's stating a whole list of items are needed for a refund, please clarify, thank you.
Hey Chris, phenomenal video. Had a random question for you - how do you go about importing your property management/Airbnb cleans into Jobber? I reached out to Jobber support and they don't have ical import so I'm wondering how you guys handle it

If they're not telling you upfront how much the course is, that tells me that it's possibly very expensive. I hate when they try to sell me like some late night TV infomercial. Give me that price up front.

Before employment, companies would usually have a contract inclusive of all the "rules". This would usually include what to do should theft be involved. Hope this helps! ☺️

Great interview Cristobal!

HI how much is this course? How long it takes? thanks
Yes I m in Philippines good idea too this business
Pay people better and don’t wear them down. Higher pay, shorter hours $30/hour+ take home plus an hour for travel. If they can make what they need in 4-5 hours a day. Say $150 take home. That’s a lot better for retention. Then don’t try to be a multimillionaire off one business. That’s when you’re taking too much from the bottom and abusing people. Put your money into other passive or near passive sources to grow it more. Pay your people well. Don’t take it all at the top. Big key to retention.
He does pay his people well. Even higher than average. ☺️
Look Mr. Socialist, his profit is only 15 to 20%. So when he says he grosses $1 million it means he only takes home $150k to $200k per year.
Same one have this book?
Great video. I'm wondering, how does Cristobal prevent employees from stealing valuables from clients?
Background checks before sending them to peoples homes
@@CristobalMondragon Hi Cristobal, i'm in HR/Recruitment so employee retention and acquisition will probably come easy to me. I know exactly where to look here in Toronto but the 'customer acquisition' is what's making me hesitate. Is it all marketing? how do I go about acquiring customers.
@@ibizawavey8630 literally the easiest part. employee retentions is much harder
@@bamthebully "literally the easiest part" - Please enlighten me. EASIEST being the operative word here, how would I go about getting clients? because I know where to go to get good honest people looking for work. Thanks!

Are you able to make six figures just by doing commercial? Which do you recommend commercial or residential? In the video you mentioned you'll probably sell your business in the future, are you tired of this business or just looking for other opportunities? Thanks

Cristobal if you are watching this... how do you guys track google ads conversions from Jobber when clients fill out a submission form? I have 2 clients that switched to jobber and I can't figure out how to track conversions... I even called Jobber and they said they didn't have anything to track conversions at the time for google ads... thanks! Great video!

it might be worth a shot to employ felons who have served their sentence if finding quality employees is this hard. people really want to turn their lives around but struggle to actually find an employer who will hire someone who's been to jail and that can be for something so small in america.
My friend is a ex felon . Serious offenses. I can tell you he is a1 at work. Proficient in many trades. I’m sure his current employer is extremely satisfied . He builds trucks. And learned how to weld from scratch! Has been working with hands since a younging. Proud of the change around . Everyone deserved a chance
Do you really want felons combing over ever inch of your home, unsupervised?
@@Edvardco have you ever hired house cleaners? It's multiple people, and certainly they aren't unsupervised (especially in a training role). You'll find no harder worker than someone who had to waste years of their life in a cage with next to zero enrichment that they'll never get back. By all means use discretion, if someone's a kleptomaniac that's not a good fit obviously; but consider the circumstances and hire accordingly. The amount of victimless crimes that are felonies are numerable only by the experts, plenty of which due to this hilarious misuse of power we call the war on drugs. Treatment and rehabilitation should be our goals, not infinite punishment and ruined lives.
@@grimsage5809 I have plenty of experience with people that have done time, both socially and professionally. It always seems to end the same way. Just last summer I hired a ex con, luckily I was able to cut my loses at $2000.

That's why you need to hire people, if you trying to do everything yourself you'll get burned out
I have 16 clients currently. 3more on the way. Im 43yrs old. I have bi weeklies, a couple monthly & a few weeklies. I do 18-25hrs a week & I do very detailed work.
It sounds like you need better equipment, technique, &/or take homes under 4k sq ft, if you're doing 60hours a week with only 8 clients. I'm looking for employees at the moment to expand and level up.
@@The_Absent_MindsetReality how exactly does it work do you clean the house while the people are there in the home or what. Or are they move outs you clean before someone moves in
I think the podcast can be improved by actually hearing the fans read their own questions by inserting a fan-submitted audio clip. I know it's easier to read questions yourself that fans have asked, but it makes the podcast more personal if you actually hear those fans in their own voice.
