I have also found that putting copper - such as a tuppence or couple of penny pieces - in the water prolongs the life of supermarket tulips & seems to keep them straighter for loner. That said, I love them when they go all wayward & do their own thing!

I used newspaper to wrap around my droopy tulips after I had cut the ends and it really worked! Thank you!
