- IRejuvenating wilting tired looking cut roses at home. Tricks and tips of the trade.
Roses are very delicate flowers, as indeed all bush flowers with lignified stems. You can often hear from people that roses did not stand in a vase or wilted almost immediately after they were bought or hung their heads after they were arranged and placed in a vase of water. There is an easy way to revive wilted roses. The reason for dehydration is often mistakes in care, when the stems or tips of roses are not cut off properly before being placed in a vase and therefore the intra-stem pressure that ensures the rise of water does not work, since pockets with air appear inside the stem that do not allow water to rise up. The second reason for the violation of water permeability is pathogenic bacteria that begin to develop rapidly on the dying cut. Therefore, for successful rehabilitation, it is necessary to completely remove the dead tissue of the stem where pathogenic bacteria develop, then making a deep incision into the stem of the roses to significantly increase the suction surface, you need to put the flowers in very warm water of 45-50 degrees Celsius. Temperature is a catalyst for biochemical processes and accelerates processes. It is necessary to add floral food to the water, it provides nutrition to the stem at the same time inhibits pathogenic microorganisms. If there is no floral food, then you can do it yourself by replacing it with sugar and a teaspoon of citric acid or sodium hypochlorite NaClO. It is important at the end of dehydration rehabilitation to stop the dehydration process itself. How to do it? It is necessary to spray water from a spray over the entire surface of the flowers and place in a room with a lower temperature. Heat from below, cold and moisture from above is the secret. Flowers will surely recover within a few hours. This method can be applied without exception to all flowers, it works especially well for woody bush flowers such as hydrangea, lilac and others.
Recipe: For two litres of water 1 teaspoon of bleach plus tablespoon of sugar. Instead of bleach you can use 2-4 tablets of 500 mg of aspirin or teaspoon of lemon acid.#flowersdiy #roses #revival #flowershop #flowermaking #flowerscake

THIS WORKS. IM NOT LYING!!!! You just saved my Valentine’s Day flowers.
Amen! I'm here tryna save my valentines day roses too! 😂❤
I'm here to save my flowers too♥️
me too hahaha!
Me too 😂😂
Lol im gonna do this for my girls flowers tryna save them for her she asleep with our son rn lol
Folks, this works! I watched it and then I tried in one of the roses I have in a vase. You will not believe it. I was given them on Jan 31st. I did this same thing as shown in the video, the rose is like new again! Then I look at the spot where I cut it. Do you believe if I tell you that it is completely healed?! Where I cut with the knife is completely gone! It is like the rose was born again.
I am in awe! Thank you very much. I will do the same in the other roses and I am sure they will be like just brought from a garden!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💞💖💞💞💞
UPDATE: the roses are still alive and doing good! (FEB. 17TH 2021)
How often did you do this ?
Absolutely amazing! Love how we get to see the change in time lapse...
Always bought droopy roses at store that are marked down and never knew how to get them to perk back up or open. Thank you for the video. Now I can have pretty roses all the time :).
Textual Predator lol dumb ass
😂 LoL
@Textual Predator rather be a cheap ass than a dumbass! She’s being smart and saving money for items down the line instead of being a dumbass and blowing $20+ for a bouquet of roses 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll save money and buy the wilted ones and fix them to look like new for a third or half the price and have double sometimes even triple the amount of flowers for the price of one bouquet. So no she’s not a dumbass at all :) if anybody is it’s you for thinking she’s a dumbass
@Textual Predator Someone always gotta just be an "ass". SMH lol.
I just found 75 roses in a dumpster ! I guess from Mother’s Day and they are beautiful and alive still but just to keep them longer I’m following these steps thank u I didn’t know I needed to cut them more than once
Where is that dumpster located? I want some roses too :-)
Sums up our consumerism society, nothing is appreciated.. we don't fix things anymore, we just buy and throw them away after taking few pictures!
Thank you Tiffany for your sacrifice to beautiful things..lol 😁🤗
Used this method on a deluxe rose arrangement bouquet I just bought at Kroger's for myself for the half price of $12 and it worked like a charm! 😍❤️🌹
Now I have a gorgeous arrangement that's fresh and crisp for half the cost! I'll be using this method forever! Thanks! 😁👍🌹🌼🌷❤️
So happy I stumbled across this. I’m trying this now. It’s been about 30 mins, will take pics every hour for the next 5 hours to see if there has been any progress
Update, this did not work. Probably killed them off faster
Hahaa I did mine today too and it didn’t work it just killed them faster...🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️
Fabulous advice thank you. I had read advice about plunging stems in boiling water adding sugar, bleach etc but never in this order or measure. Works a treat!
Another fantastic video! So glad I found you. I'm ordering bulk flowers for my wedding. My trial flowers were dehydrated, and I'm thankful I have a solution now.
Wow. Just did this for very expensive garden roses that started wilting. Used sugar and aspirin, garage refrigerator for the cool place and o. M. G. They are like new!!!! ❤❤
Thank you so I love roses and I hated losing their beauty so quickly, I am excited to use this tip immediately. Also thank you for explaining everything so scientifically.
I cant praise God enough for the internet i always find all the answer i need never knew that hot water can keep the flowers longer thanks for sharing
I love your voice, its very mom like and makes me comfortable trying to take care of my flowers even though I have noooo idea what I'm doing. Thank you! 🌸🌷🌻🌹
My boyfriend gave me a dozen roses on valentine’s day and they were more wilted than it was in the video, I thought they wont survive. Thank you so much to your video, here in Philippines the weather is hot, but I followed your steps and I put 1 and a half spoon of brown sugar, 1 spoon of zonrox bleach I found in the house and hot water. I also scraped the ends of the stem. My roses are very alive, red and beautiful after 16 hours and I am more than happy 😃 thank you!
is it ok if I use white sugar?
Ur Almario yes
😭😭😭💀
@@abbygomez7835 is this works really?
Thank you! You just saved my 100 roses for valentines
I’m doing this today with my roses. Thank you!
Im definitely doing this to my birthday roses I recently got.
The ONLY complete explanation with proof!!! Amazing!!
I always push a pin through the top of the stem to make a small hole. Always works - have done this for years, but not sure who told me. works well with tulips as well.
Do you mean right below the rose itself?
For why??? To what end? I do that with Tulips to stop the growing, it doesn’t work as they heal themselves… grrr
Holly Molly! Amazing time lapse showing them coming back up! Like magic! I'm impressed. Can't wait to try it.
The best TH-cam video ever!!! Thank you, thank you! It was exactly what I needed the day after Mother’s Day! ❤️
Where have you been throughout my life? Lol I love the look of roses but they always seem to wilt so quickly. Can't wait to try this neat trick. Thank you
I am happy to help
It works. I am mesmerized! I will reach everybody this method.
It worked really well for me too! I’ll be cutting mine like this first thing from now on!
THIS WORKED LIKE MAGIC! I didn't have bleach or aspirin so I put vinegar instead.
Thank you so much for this video. This will help me enjoy my roses longer. 🌹
thank you so much for this video, I tried it and it worked the Roses I purchase withered the very same day and after doing what you did it came back to life
Thank you, thank you.
This a genius tuturial👏👏
I've tried just sugar or just bleach or just sugar...but didn't know combo was in need
Also never knew to actually shave stem
Thank you
I'm about to try this now!
Jane Larkey did you do it without the flower food?
Good lesson. We have been using Aspirin tablets to keep the cut roses looking fresh for many days, but this is something new. By the way, your way of using the knife scared me!
This really works thank you for sharing this video..... I have tried all kinds of things and this is the one video that honestly tells the truth.....
Literally just did this to both of my sets of roses and I and excited to see how they come out!!!!
Whoooa THE TIME-LAPSED VIDEO THO 🥀🥀🥀🥀⚘🌹🌹🙌🏽💪🏽‼️‼️ Thank you so much for SHARING THIS ❣🌹❣
Thank you for this video - it worked for the beautiful rose I received that had started drooping within 4 days.
How often should you replace the water? And when you do should you use plain water or would repeating the whole process work best to make the flowers last longer?
Sorry last question, whats the longest that you've seen flowers/roses last by following and repeating this process?
No lo hagas con flores, solo rosas
Same question!
@@xscenify you can try it just with roses but not with other sort of flowers
Same question
Could you please make a video on growing roses from cuttings. Thanks
Wow! !...that was amazing !!!....I won't let my husband bring my roses bcz I hate to see them wilt but after watching ur video I'm ready for all the ones he wished to bring me !!!...do you have a video on propagating roses from a store bought bouquet ?....greetings from southern Texas
Excellent idea. From nearly throwing away yesterday good a beautiful bun h back now thankyou x
oh Wow this is one of the most useful things I have learned on youtube! Thanks so much....
Awesome! Thanks! Why didn’t any women in my entire life teach me this? Thanks so much! Saved Grandmas flowers. We don’t get good roses anywhere in NJ. It’s a joke.
WOW!! I love roses but don't like that they don't last. I received beautiful roses today, and I'm going to use your tips at the beginning with hot water, 1T sugar and ½T bleach to see if they will last longer than usual. I'm trying this because I didn't receive any food to put in the water.
SUPER EXCITED TO TRY THIS! Also did not know they do better in cooler temps, makes sense though. 🤔
Thank you for sharing these valuable tips.
Great video, thanks. I was wondering if it possible to apply the same concept with bruised or browned lines on the petals. My sister has roses delivered to her that way and even pulling off the guard petals didn’t help!
I still have my Mother’s Day roses ! Love learning
wow. What a totally informative tutorial. That was awesome!
Thank you so much for sharing the tips. I always learn something new from your channel, the details you talk about. Please keep it up.
Thank you for this video. I got these beautiful red Roses last week and I wanted to keep them alive as long as possible.
Wow what a result. Thanks for sharing.
This saved my roses, thank you!
good video...can we plant the fixed rose directly into the soil? have you ever try to wait for the roots to come out during submerging in the jar?
loooooove!!!!! so helpful and satisfying. i could tell you were very proud haha
ok im trying this as you speak for the first time but i wasted my floral food because you said AFTER i followed your directions you dont need floral food AND aspirin..i put the aspirin in.. had to start over. then you say hydrate but before THAT you have to spray...but im still trying your way. smile! my gentle 2 pennies🦋
this is so cool! the roses look beautiful
Thanks a lot for this amazing video. Just gonna try it now with my wilted roses and see what happens. hope it works.
I tried it and nothing! My roses almost died now😔
That’s crazy beautiful. Wow I can’t believe I never knew this 😭
I’m a dude, but my female roommate/best friend gave me a rose on Valentine’s Day
This was helpfully
Can we use this method for other flowers as well? I have a bouquet of different flowers with the rose together
Thank you! I am new to the florist business and this video was very helpful.
You are welcome and good luck!
My boyfriend got me 250 roses for valentines two days ago when we were on vacation in Mexico, we flew back yesterday’s and everyone on the plane was routing for us to not have to throw them away when going through customs, the roses took up a whole seat lol, an agricultural specialist at customs checked them for bugs and let us go, I am going to do this now they are wilted. My boyfriend had to carry them through the airport lol they are heavy
Thank you!! Why the warm water? I always heard cold water and cool places preserve the roses longer? What if I added ice after the solution were dissolved?
I just tried it with my roses 🥀 and now I’m writing for them to be 🌹
Thank you very much, I saved some beautiful orange roses.
Wow!! Love the results.
Can I use brown sugar does it matter what color sugar???
Thank you so much for sharing the tips
Beautiful I’m doing my valentine Rose now as you speak an wait 5 hrs.
Amazing!! Love love love! Thank you!
Thank you! Wish I had seen this video way before today. 🥰
Amazing!! Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us.
Cute m…all of the expensive Garden roses I have been putting in cold water…. Adding Ice to mimic the fridge water temp. Palm to forehead.
Beautiful video. I love flowers 🌹🌹
hi i just found your video. do i have to put bleach and sugar everytime i change the water?
Okay so I was doing everything wrong. Thanks so much, I'm going to go apologize to my roses in the kitchen by giving them a good angled slice
Question - is this what Floralife Quick Dip does??? Helps the stems absorbs water? Also, the floralife crowning glory (VS Misting H2O)?
Thank you so much. Ive just done exactly what you said, let's see what they look like in the morning.
How did they look?
If the bouquet is not wilted, should you cut the bottom as you would for the wilted or just put them in a vase? Thank you.
Is the water you sprayed on your rose's straight warm water, or, your mixture? Thank you, John.
Can this work if the flowers look brown
Very helpfull. How much water to how much water did u used
I am impressed 🙌🏾
Ok 3 quick questions. You need to use BOTH, the packet of food AND the bleach/sugar combo? Because i thought the bleach/sugar combo was a food alternative like you said but you used both in the same vase?
2nd question is: Do you mist the top of the roses with the same water with the vase ingredients or just plain water? Question 3: dDoes the water need to be hot or cold when misting on the top?
You can use the packet or make your own (bleach/sugar combo). I mist the top of the roses with plain water at room temperature .
I recently got some Valentine’s Day flowers (set of 12) and they’ve been without water for 3 days their wilted a bit and I want to put them in a mason jar , how much water do I recommend I put?
what was on the sachet? aside from stating the materials would be best to label them, too. did u put some asipirin? i never saw it. thanks
What a beautiful presentation! I loved it! Very helpful. Thank you so much😊🌹👍
WOWWW GREAT VIDEO!❤️
THis really worked! Omg! :) thank you so much!
Ok definitely trying this on my roses, only thing ots not really cool in my house, so hopefully it still works
That's awesome! Why do most florists not cut the stems like this to begin with?
Also, after doing this process, when the flowers do start to wilt, can the same process be repeated further up the stem? Can this process be used for all flower types?
Thank you for this video!
Do you recommend vinegar instead of bleach? Bleach is not environmentally safe and I'm certain vinegar would work just as well
THAT'S AMAZING, THANKS FOR SHARING 👍👍👍👍👍
Can I add the white little flower stuff and eucalyptus flowers back ?
My boss has this bouquet of orange roses and still beautiful and he wants me to throw it, but how can i just throw thses beautiful flowers? 🥺 So I'm here! 😁 I have to revive these flowers!!! And thank you for this video! ❤️
How often would we need to do this? I just got a dozen roses and I am trying to keep them as long as I can lol. Just did this method though, can't wait to see the results!
Wonderful results.....quick question:
do I have to make a new cut every couple of days, to keep the pores open, also, does this technique work on all cut flowers???
What's the dosage (mg) of aspirin you use?
Thanks....
Yes, basically it works on all cut flowers. Here is our Timelapse video with hydrangeas:How to Revive Dead Flowers Time Lapse
th-cam.com/video/OF5yZT5r9Yk/w-d-xo.html. Few tables of aspirin per medium (1 liter) vase will be enough.
The outside of my petals on my rose has a crunchy feeling to it, would this process make it not crunchy or is it already dead
TamaDingDong unfortunately it’s already dead, but if they are only crusty at the tip then this will help your roses!
Does it work with any other flowers?
What about the misting water is it hot or cold; and does ot matter?
What if you don't have Aspirin what else can you use
Amazingly helpful!
PS: Update: 180 degrees turn. It did not work for me. Followed instructions to a T but it looks like grocery store roses are just cursed for me. They wilt very fast and cannot be brought back. Will have to get much better with growing my own.
This murdered my Garden rose and candle light roses!!! I watched the video tried a few it worked. The next day, I did about 70 roses, had my hubs watch (he is good at remember specifics). I followed directons and the second set didn’t do to well. Also, the stems turned brown!!! Also, the water too, with the bleached could it have been diseased roses that were delivered to me?!???
