You mention that you cannot reduce the volume other than via the steering wheel controls...wrong! :), swipe the screen from far left to the right, a menu pops up and you can adjust the volume as well as other sound features and other settings. 3. As for the irritating beeps and sounds, ALL can be switched off whilst still getting either visual or vibration warnings. I have never had a vehicle with so many adjustment possibilities. 4. @@Kulu-M dude i've been driving cars for over 40 years, different makes and models. I'm also an engineer and i can tell you now that it won't last based upon experience. If you want a cheap suv buy mahindra otherwise you cant go wrong with toyota. Period. It all looks and sound good when it is new but to carry that lump the engine is always under strain. You might not see it on the rev counter but trust me that engine is working hard, hence the fuel consumption. A 2lt would've been a better fit.
@@drevil2783 This has nothing to do with your experience or credentials. I gather you have no experience with this particular engine and transmission. Where does Haval source this engine? Where do they source their transmission? Are there any credible reports that you can sight to justify your concerns on this 1.5 engine and 7 speed DCT? From what I understand, this engine is a mitsubishi 4G15 variant, developed by GAC Mitsubishi Motors and used by a range of Japanese and Chinese automakers. The 4G15 engine family is one of the longest used Japanese engines. The 1.5l has been in the H2, from 2014. The dct is developed in-house by GWM. Previously they used ZFs. Poor fuel economy is not an indicator of a stressed engine. The power and torque outputs are compatible with the vehicle class. As an engineer, you should know that. There are vehicles with 1.0 to 1.4 capacity on vehicles larger and heavier than this one.
@@reudebakernel4923 I have the lux auto for 1 month. This week in town I managed 8.7L/100km. The one long distance trip I got 6.4 driving 100km/h on cruise control.
I bought My Jolion Lux Auto a month ago. Every time I get inside the car it makes me smile. It is a fantastic car. Fuel consumption I am currently getting in town is 9.1L/100km and when I drove long distance with 3 grown ups plus baggage in the car I got 6.4L/100km doing 100km/h on cruise control. So not great, but not worse than the best selling vehicles in SA (bakkies).
I really am amazed with the Haval. I test drove it and was blown away. Almost wanted to trade in my E Class lol just because of the extra technology (My E is 7 years old though). But nothing beats a V6 though and the Haval economy was a let down. My E Class is is a 3 litre turbo diesel V6 with 190kw and 620nm of torque. In town I get 8.5L/100km and on the highway at 120km/h with 4 adults and luggage I get 5.1L/100km. Yes it is diesel but it is double the size engine of the Haval, has 2 more cylinders, almost twice the power and almost 3 times the torque yet is way more economical. It also weighs about 600kg more. I drove from Joburg to George on one tank of fuel. It is now 7 years old this year with 90,000kms and still has the economy. I know the 2 cars are not comparable but it is to just make a point about the fuel economy which I was very disappointed with on the Haval.
@@OrosDad true true. Driving style plays a role buti hope the fuel economy isn't as bad as it ia shown. Im currently waiting on mine. I don't drive often since i work from home so it should be ok.
The fuel economy should not deter people from buying the Haval as with all new cars and engines the fuel economy is very high. It’s due to the fact that the engine has not been run in and the computers fuel calculation is not accurate as it’s not traveled enough kilometres. So after 800 - 1000 km should be much lower consumption figures.
For sure it’s disastrous but considering how much cheaper it is than the market , the difference in price would get you a lot of fuel . it’s only 2L above average cars and you would need to drive it for 200 thousand kilometres before you start paying more than what you would have paid so the obsession with fuel economy would cost motorist more money in the long run actually
although that kind of figure is dependent on quite a number of factors. Was the engine broken in yet (most likely not, so high fuel consumption only gets lower), style of driving, sensor calibration, highway/city, etc... One can easily get 10l/100km on an average car if you drive hard.
Too many of these cars on South African roads, but I never saw one in Kenya. I don't know why. Nevertheless, i'm one of those who's been requesting for a review. They're beautiful cars!
Haval came in just at the right time. People are now looking for value more than everything. The luxury cars are ridiculously priced, even the non-luxury cars like Mazda, Nissan and everything are a bit too expensive.
Awesome video! Just 2 things, 1) the fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100km is for the Manual version, the 7 DCT is 8.2 l/100km and got 7.2 l/100km on the open road. Driving a Jolion daily I can say that my fuel consumption is around 9.2 l/100km. 2) the torque figure is 220nm and not 210nm.
I think this feedback from owners is more in line with other reviews I've read. They do say it's higher than most competitors, but the R4k a month saving compared to the quote I got on a new tiguan is worth it for me. Anything it guzzles in fuel the savings should cover. I think this is a great product
12L to 100km is what my 2007 Jeep Commander does in-town, but that's a 160kw 2.4tonne 3 liter diesel v6 with a 2" lift. Otherwise, impressive for the price. Question is, how is the reliability? Time will tell.
Other chinese companies like Ceery or great walls had to recall their product as carcinogenic asbestos were found in parts in 2012 and Haval falied to pass ANCAP test in 2016.I think now is too soon to buy Chinese car.Maybe at least another 10 years later when their concept about safety and business ethics is mature enough.
All Good, but the one thing that always comes up is that the Haval products seems to have all the tech, and then when it comes to the engine and gearbox and fuel efficiency/economy it fall short. Is that due to older engines used from other manufacturers or is that not the case?
With most of these cars when they are being tested the Engine is still new which causes the car to use more fuel as it has not been "Run in" yet, which makes it seem like they consume a lot of fuel. After about 2000 kms The fuel consumption will drop dramatically as with any new car.

Must say I love this Jolion car. It really is quite unbelievable the value it offers, loaded with all sort of technologies, especially the safety ones that makes a real difference. The only issue is with the engine, which happens to be the key component, and that's why I think it's quite cheaper than other established brands. It requires quite a lot of technical proves to make a durable engine which is refined and fuel efficient. Once they sorted the engine issues and have a good Euro ncap rating this car is a no brainer for this price!!!

I really love what the Haval brand is doing with their cars. Very good and I hope their pricings never change
their pricing will have to change when they build their cars good enough to get a safety rating, a decent engine will also add to build cost which will be past on to consumer. Don;t be suckered into buying this CCP heap of crap with poor resale value

Haval has my respect don’t own one, but don’t mind owning one.
Here in Australia it is one of the one of the fastest selling cars. Huge value for money. Seven year unlimited km factory warranty speaks volumes. Ten years ago I told a friend to watch out for the Chinese brands. Just like how the South Korean brands were perceived back in the 80s. He laughed. Now he owns one.
The Chinese domestic market has some locally developed, insanely high tech (and very keenly priced) electric cars. Wait till those hit the international market.

Your Question are Spot-On. Most Buyers don't think about these Factors.
Most of them don't consider those factors, all they want is to wear shades and do TikTok videos while driving
no need to worry. It will fall apart as soon as it hits the first pothole. It will be a write off for sure, And rust is a known issue with these crap things
I see a lot of bad reviews on google 😭Apparently parts are scarce on SA……. It looks good though 👌🏽But I can’t buy on looks….
Finally back with a proper new car review 😃
The only problem I have is the scratchy plastics in the interior, but then I can't complain about that when the car is way below half a million rand. For its segment it really is the best money can buy, punching above its weight
I agree it's cheap but only if you plan to drive it for 5 years max. After that it's gonna fall apart and that little engine just won't last.
This super luxury model reviewed here seems to have soft touch materials though. Even the dash looks finished in leather.
@@drevil2783 where did you get that information?

So not great, but not worse than the best selling vehicles in SA (bakkies).
You actually got much better economy than Ciro lol
@@FaeezHendricks I guess driving style makes a difference. But make no mistake, it should be better for the engine size.
@@FaeezHendricks Ciro probably made an error, because in their written review they stated it returned 9.5l/ 100km in their 200km test drive.

Lovely car.. I will get one but I'm not sure when
I had a look at it, inside up close it looked stylish but sickly.. I got a changan cs35 plus limited instead. I love it.
Yes, please do a review of the new H6 AWD. We are Haval owners and would like to see your take on the bigger class vehicle
Are you happy with the Haval brand and your after service care?
Really well kitted out but the fuel economy is disastrous
Yeah that 1.5t is pushing a lot of metal
It's Haval's well known Achilles' heel. I had hoped they would have tackled but they clearly haven't.
True 👍🏻
Covid has really changed our way of seeing life for good.
I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I can't wait.

Ciro got 12l/100km. Scary shit
I think Ciro made an error, because in their written review they stated it returned 9.5l/ 100km in their 200km test drive.
I get 9.1 L/100km driving in town. When concentrating on consumption I manage 7.8 in town. Open road I got 6.4. (Auto)
On paper ...105kw/210nm . 8.1l/100km combined. It's high before 5k as engine needs to run in . After that I'm getting 6.1 on free way and 7.2 around.
I think this feedback from owners is more in line with other reviews I've read. They do say it's higher than most competitors, but the R4k a month saving compared to the quote I got on a new tiguan is worth it for me. Anything it guzzles in fuel the savings should cover. I think this is a great product
Thank you for the review. Much appreciated
The thing is...I almost cannot trade anything for fuel economy.
So true 🤣🤣it’s a thirsty beast big body with small engine
Absolutely, it's kinda disappointing because it's such a nice car
But if its R150 000 cheaper then the competition does it matter if you spend an extra R500 a month on petrol? Thats only R30 000 over 5 years.
I'll give you that
@@KP-dx2kc good point... I agree with you.
