    Nice. The only thing that I really remember doing differently with Brandenburg is allying with Poland at the start. I would usually drag both Poland and the Teutonic Order into a war where I cheat Poland out of some territory, but then they are also stuck with a peace treaty. I may take a diplo hit and lose the alliance, but it helps me with eating the Prussian lands before the winged hussars arrive. ;)

    • @LudietHistoria
      @LudietHistoria  4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Yeah, definitely is a good idea to ally Poland and use them to get the lands! The thing is, if you manage to get Bohemia as an ally, then it's much better to keep them and use them to eat Poland up, since Poland is outside the HRE and you take much less AE and thus can expand faster!

      @@LudietHistoria In previous builds of EUIV (last tested in 1.26 I think) I generally used Poland to attack bohemia and the teutons. Bohemia to get Silesia (it was just one country then) and Poland to split the conquered teuton-territory in my favor. (I remember I also got Mecklenburg as another vassal as a cherry on the cake then.
      Of course I had an Bohemian enemy till the end of times then...
      Maybe I should test, if this is still a viable path to go.

    Only thing I do differeent for the start - usually you can get some combination of Magdeburg, Lüneburg, Mecklenburg and Stettin to ally each other. So there is a decent chance to get two countries allied, that are both possible rivals, without other allies. This allows you to grab both Humiliate (from the co-belligerent) and show strength in one war

    • @edrickhuge4637

      @@Kodlaken you got no idea what you are talking about. The extra manpower is more valuable at the start than everything you have mentioned. You forget that reserve manpower, cheaper troops and a higher force limit are vital and have a diplomatic aspect to them. France want ally you because you are to small? Boom 6k more manpower and 6k more troops which makes it worth it for them to ally you. What, a coalition is forming against you? Boom they register your manpower and extra force limit should you have build up a bit. Diplo is key, and quantity has a double usages as both military and diplo tool

      @Kodlaken 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edrickhuge4637 While it's true that the AI views your force limit and manpower as strength I think you overvalue this. I have never found myself in a situation where I was like "damn I wish I took Quantity so they'd accept this alliance." But I guarantee you there would be countless times where you would regret not taking Offensive while rolling generals, or waiting forever on sieges, or in combat. Quantity is good at what it does but what it does is ultimately unnecessary.
      I would definitely say if you are a very new player or just not very good at the game that it is better though, since you the AI will be less likely to attack you, but that's not a good mindset to compare ideas with.

This combination should make a Hollerzollern on Bohemian throne which means you can claim throne and call in Poland with promise of land. • @LudietHistoria
      @LudietHistoria  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, Trade ideas are epic, and personally love them as prussia, but the reason i never take them early on, is cause the eco ideas and religious ones help a lot more in the early game. Eco is great with quantity to play tall and dev up like crazy, and religious helps overcome the AE obstacles the HRE offer. As a 3rd admin idea I always go Trade though!

    • @scvboy1
      @scvboy1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LudietHistoria Religious is great for the deus vult, but personally I don't think it's a must for nations that plan on going protestant or reformed because you'll get enough modifier with decisions plus religious zeal to convert your catholic provinces. Also you can use the enforce religious edict to help, but I've never needed to use it. Religious ideas really shine, in my opinion, when you're staying catholic in the empire or if you're expanding into muslim land. The reason why I'd go with trade is because Brandenburg is already set with their military ideas when they form Prussia, and they'll get plenty of claims from their mission tree. The biggest thing hurting them is their bad economy which trade plus the good produce modifier solves. One last thing about religious ideas is the deus vult won't be as good because most nations in northern Germany go protestant and you won't be able to take advantage of that reduced A.E since most of your neighbors will likely convert. But overall great guild, I just had that one small complaint.

    I always go for Stettin first because of their castle and central location and make that a state first and then go for Wolgast. I guess there is much higher aggressive expansion that way. Then I got lucky cause I was just about to declare war on Teutons and then Danzig appeared so looking at Danzig, Polland was at another war and they didn't join in to defend and that was easy pick... My involvement allowed the Teutons to overpower Danzig and Polland that they took 4 provinces from Polland but Konigsburg fell to me in the meantime.
    I like going after Holstein cause and the Danish Peninsula cause that allows me to take over Danish trade influence. Their Navy is hard initially but with my quality I can hit and run their Navy till they lose a large portion of their Navy and I can go for Danish Castle
    I usually go with Diplo first to get more allies and vassals. Then I Quality to get stronger units without getting more units as Its too expensive to have more. Then I go Economics to get better income

Unortunately i didnt conquer danzig and marienburg before poland, but they are very weak in my run (lost war with hungary and muscovy already in 1460) im going to conquer these prpvinces and be prussia to 1500 or something like that. Is this good?

    Tbh, the wars are easy cause prussian space marines are OP, but it becomes too tedious to fight so many world wars after a while

    Nice non rng guide, I find rivaling stetting and wolgast as you said helpful as they never ally eachother anyway. I would also recomend a purely early game alliance with poland to protect from coalitions and for wars. If you are a dirty save scummer like me and will restart until they get bohemia PU as brandenburg you can call them in using the promise land exploit so you dont need to give anything. Then do the same thing with teutons by calling them in with the exploit which ensures they take nothing and cannot launch their own separate war vs them where they might take land.

    Hey Ludi, I have a question pertaining to your expertise as the Prussian master! I declared war on Commonwealth as Brandenburg (need Konigsburg) but they’re not willing to take less than 60% of my country in any peace deal at -15%. I’m Mil tech 12 and they are 11, I have Muscovy and Austria on my side but even though we outnumber him 2 to 1 (also have more morale) we lose 1/4 battles due to allies not properly reinforcing or losing after many waves of suicides and keep losing the subsequent base races(they can de siege their lands at a rate of near 3 to 1). I’ve stacked wiped over 200k of his troops but they keep coming back while my allies don’t replenish troops and I’m busy sieging forts again. My manpower is alright but I loaned up to meet Commonwealth’s Force Limit. Muscovy is close to peacing out and I’m worried this war might now doom my campaign. Any hints or should I cut bait? The year is 1532 and I’ve completed Quantity and on the last 2 ideas before completing Economic, also started diplo ideas! I have 38k of my own troops and 34k mercs, Commonwealth has 80k total troops, their vassal Livonia order brings 12k, and their ally Cilli brings 4k

I have yet to start a game where I can conquer Wolgast and the Teutonic Order still exists. In one sitting I restarted the game 41 times before I rage quit and played Civ V... a game where you don't need super special, extremely rare beginning conditions just to accomplish a single feat (create Prussia).

      You ally Austria at start. Denmark would only ally some small nations in the North German coast. For example if Hamburg is allied to Denmark just ignore them until you have a fleet to challenge Denmark with.
      Alternatively you can attack one of Hamburg's allies and cancel Hamburg's alliance with Denmark in the seperate peace deal.

      Nothing u can do. Prevent their army from leaving or bait them to stack wipe them and with their manpowrler and money on 0 they will accept full annexation even with 1 prpvince left. Alternatively wait for 5 years and after 5 years of holding all their provinces except ruppin they will accept full annexation
