Like the Mod Podge idea...never considered using that on wood. Will definitely be trying it. Thanks.

put the wheel on the opposite way. You are only seeing the 'buried' part of the wheel which will be up against the car body. Put the outside up so you can see it is finished well, by inspecting as you do this task.

FYI, you can make a "kinda" honey dip and keep it in the bottle of mog pog. just an idea :>) great video.

Good idea, thanks. I've also thought about making a vacuum chamber using the food vacuum sealer in the kitchen. Might make a good test for a future episode.

Vacuum chamber for what? i would think a food vacuum pump would not have enough volume capacity unless you use a small (!?) vacuum bag, or if you're talking about holding power instead? i would be interested in your findings.

You mentioned you did something on the router table. Did you mean round off the outside edges? How did you hold/secure the wheels to do so? And what if you wanted to also round off the hole for the axle if you wanted a large hole, say 7/8"? Your video is good, but I still had these questions.

I rounded the edges on the router table using a 1/8" roundover bit with a small brass bearing (Whiteside #1980). The bit is so small I just held the wheels by hand.

Thanks for sharing!!! I've been making wooden trucks for my son and friends using scrap wood but needed a more efficient way to make the wheels. Just out of curiosity what kind of wood do you use for the wheels??

I used beech wood in this video, from a log I cut up. Maple has similar hardness and color, and might be easier to find at most wood suppliers.

Love the recessed "rim" look. what did you use for an axle?

Those are 1/4" knockdown-furniture bolts. I drilled a 1/4" hole and stuck them in with some superglue. A slightly undersized bit would be better so they get a little more thread, but I used what I had and it worked.

Would you happen to know how to attach the wheels and allow them to rotate?

    Bonjour de France,
Sobriété, belle esthétique et très belle finition, félicitations !!!
Pour respecter l'équilibre des formes, pourriez-vous me préciser l'épaisseur des morceaux de bois et le diamètre des roues.
    Merci pour le partage
