Just the video I was looking for. I use a holesaw and smooth the edges but the centres are just plain, great tip using a spade bit. I think I would use the spade bit before cutting the wheel out it would save having to hold the wheel with a pipe wrench.
Looks great and a simple set up! May I ask how the drill is mounted in the vise? Curious to know if the drill has a seperate handle like one that comes with a hammer drill!
Hi just made some wooden wheels for push toy frog. The problem is the wheel slide on smooth surfaces, I have added treat but still no good. Can you suggest a coating to give grip or other solution. I require good grip to operate the arms that lift the frogs head.
@ericwalker606 ...or you can cut up rubber gloves fingers, heat shrink tube, air balloon, maybe car radiator hose in certain diameter and bicycle inner tube as above...

Glad it was helpful!
Cool. Just shows you can do it with basic tools great idea. Liked the black tape bandage. Have that in my go to first aid kit too
Thanks. LOL. Yup, black bandage tape is the best.
Love it. Wheels, small knobs and other similar items, Just great. i am not a turner.
Ian Brodie Smith I'm glad you liked it.

As i can see it's most probably stock handle, usually shipped together with drill.
(*i might be wrong though)
You have got that right.
The handle came with my drill.
Excellent, thank you
My pleasure.
It’s easier to drill the spade bit part before you complete drilling the outside diameter while the wheels are still attached to the block of timber
The thought of the spade drill came in afterwards. I have already sawed out the wheels then it looked too dull and decided to do something about it.
!! Wow ya got this is Easy thank you for Sharin Ya Hav my sub to ya keep on sharin makes it look easy to do

I cut across an old bicycle tube to make tread for the wheels. stretch it on. it works great

What cutting tool did you use to cut the treads? Thanks
Lyk baie goed... van 'n ander Groenewald

+AbelieverofourLord You are welcome. I hope it was helpful to you.
it will be easier if we use spade bit before hole saw

👀👍
What is the name of the drill, which you make a recess in the center of the wheel? Thank you in advance for the answer thank you
I know it as a spade drill bit.
Make it yourself thanks to woodprix page. I think it's the best way to learn how to build it in the cheapest way.
