Competitive Pokemon Singles is a world where Unown has no value whatsoever.
Unown is a mysterious being with many different forms. These include Unown-A and perhaps even Unown-G.
These forms have identical stats and vary only in their appearance.
Let's rank these forms based on their inherent value.
This video was requested by the winner of my Furret tournament, "Luis CL", also known as CharizardTourney.
Muk and Arceus are also Pokemon, but they're unrelated to the topic at hand.

Some will never figure out how to get Unown in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Unown Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Unown Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.

I like how unown A got a scathing review due to his personality and then the rest of the unowns are just judged by how well you can attach other objects to them

Contrary to popular belief, hanging keys on Unown B does not give it the prankster ability, no matter how much it looks like Klefkei
It doesn't get contrary either
Damm the busted combo of prankster + hidden power only has been denied
As far as we know it could have prankster, but we'll never be able to confirm it as it can't use any non-attacking moves
But for a Unown B, klefki would be a really great Halloween costume.

Unowns I and V deserve recognition as the only letters which could be shiny in Gen 2.
I’ve never looked for this answer, but if this was somehow coincidence, that’s hilarious, but impressive and slightly less hilarious if intentional
@@Galarticunodefinitely a coincidence since IVs are a fan term. In gens 1 and 2 they're called DVs due to the stat system working a bit differently than in gen 3 onwards.
Also the first shiny I ever found was an Unown V in Pokemon Crystal lol

Unown ! and Unown ? are the best as they have a slightly higher Skill stat in the Pokéathlon than the other forms.

Personally my favourite unowns are the ones which can spell "Furret" in the team preview.
You can't spell that but you can spell Otachi, Sentret's japanese name.

I admit I wouldn’t have guessed that the ability to play as Funky Kong would have such weight in the analysis of the Unown forms
Unown E has the left protrusion so it may be used as a fork or a trident of sorts.
The Unowns K, C, U and F are clearly the most important ones for their utility in writing rude messages for your opponent in the team preview
The best Unown to me has to be the "X" one. Because it does a little dance and jumps around, i dunno. He's a lil' guy.
This video really brought out Jim's caveman side with most rankings being ''This has a handle and you can hit people with it, S tier'' and I am here for it.

What about a balanced hackmons tournament where you can only use unknown and they can use any move/ability/item but its name must start with the respective unknown letter
My favorite moment with Unown was back during ORAS. I was doing some online trading and after offering a mon, the other guy switched to an Unown N and then O. He then spelt out S-H-I-N-Y-?, and I traded a few Shinies with him. It was such a cool experience and I really wished all the Unowns were in ORAS so I could do it as well.

Until I watched this video, Unown’s rankings were unknown to me.
Despite the distinct lack of Groodon (3 days since), this is probably one of my favorite videos. From A getting humbled for it's ego to the rocking horse, and H's utility as a Wii controller. This is the content I subscribe for.

Unown V being used as a bottle opener is amoral, when using the others as Wii remotes and living weapons is not 🤣🤣
i like how using an unown as a coat hook or bottle opener is morally questionable, but attaching a blade to it to use in medieval style combat is totally okay
consider: you could get two Unown-S guys and have them partake in a little tabletop boxing match. boundless competitive potential
There was a point at which Unown was simply excluded from Pokémon Showdown's random battle generator, but I'm too lazy to check the commit history for exact details.
Unown F's idle animation in Stadium/Colosseum/XD/PBR is a little dance, and this, in my opinion, makes it top of S tier.

Unown should have another form if you've caught all of them. Maybe call it Unown Complete or Alphabet Complete form. Make it have stronger stats like Wishiwashi schooling form but permanent

The most significant memory I have of Unown is the Prima strategy guide for Gold and Silver prominently showed Unown F to represent the whole species, but I had no idea what the letter was supposed to be which kinda got me unnerved, maybe they weren't all supposed to be the alphabet? In Legends: Arceus, Hidden Power now switches types each turn to be super effective against the opposing Pokemon (prioritizing double weaknesses too), which is actually much better when it's your only move
The unique storyline and new battle engine really set this game apart. It's a must-play for any Pokemon fan.

I think you should give bonus points to Unown F, G and X for being used to represent their species in official artwork (HGSS, GSC and Pokémon Global Link respectively).
Unown R is lame and Unown V is hideous, but I respect the ranking you gave them.
More bonus points for Unown X, as it looks very similar to a Yux from Paper Mario TTYD (well, it's the other way around),
And the clear winner is Unown H, no doubt. It also looks vaguely like a TIE Fighter from Star Wars.
This was an amazing tier list, though I think you should have looked at each Unown's animations, as they each have a very distinct personality.

back in gen 2 where they were introduced i think the personality values that determined hidden power and tyep, ALSO determined things like shiny and unknown letters, so..... some unknown were actually statistically better than others untill gen 3 overhauled how pokemon handled it's personality values
we may need a part 2 that addresses this
Ya know I hate on the modern 3D models for most mons, but the Unowns each have a unique animation that I think would have impacted these essential decisions Jim.
Justice for Unown M! It is trully outstanding. Magnificency starts with M for a reason.
Good effort explaining every unown. I prefer the simpler more direct ones to the artsy ones myself. It is weird how half are artsy and half are the normal letter plus eyeball.
