Being an indian expatriate who is working in ksa for past 26 years, I did not find any fault in new rules.it is their country they have wright to bring the legislation to save their people. They did not commit to the world to employ foreigners in their country forever. Better these foreigners go back to their country and fight to make their respective country's political system which will be useful them. Stop blaming ksa for everything . I am thankful for KSA for allowing foreigners to work and earn all those years.
I love Saudi Arabia, Saudis and the royal family, too. However, the new Saudization laws are creating a lose-lose situation for both the Saudis and expatriates. The Saudi economy is in a recession, and Saudi landlords couldn’t find expatriates to rent their apartments like they did. Most Saudi businesses are down because much of their customers were expatriates. Saudi employers don’t want to employ locals because they demand higher salaries, lower working hours, and lots of rest in between to eat, drink, smoke cigarettes etc. The locals would never work for 16 hours a day. They would not do jobs lower than their status (almost all blue collar jobs). Saudi local customers are also losing because now they have to pay more for things as the labor costs of businesses significantly increased.
D C they won't get the same salaries of course. Because the government pays them as well so say instead of the 1300 this guy is getting a saudi would be getting 3300 and mostly college and high school students will be working these jobs now.
Philip Ahn Deese 0:18 the reporter was saying that jobs such as electronic sales staff will be restricted to Saudis only. Next clip a Saudi man is saying that the law will be good for Saudis with degrees from Germany and USA. Will restricting sales positions to Saudis only benefit those highly educated Saudis? No. (Also foreign contract workers are terrible working conditions including extensive work hours. Construction workers work 12 hours a day, 1 day off in a month. The Bangladeshi man wasn't working overtime, that's just regular work conditions for blue collar foreigners in KSA)
Of course not! Unemployed Saudis can get about $1000 a month from the government as compensation while staying in the comfort of their homes, something similar to food stamps in the U.S. but lavish Recently the government started another program to compensate all Saudis employed and unemployed for the new taxes and increase in prices. It adds another $350 for those unemployed. The sad thing is that at the same time of starting the program, they imposed new taxes on foreigners, which made it look like they were taking from these poor fellas and giving locals.
I think it is only fair that any country favors its citizens for employment in whatever job is available, and if no citizens are found for that job, then and only then can an expat be hired for it.
I don't see nothing wrong in here. I have been working in KSA for 12 years now and if they feel the need for them to stand on their own.. it's their right and nobody can take that away from them. People who have worked in the Kingdom should be thankful giving them opportunities and experiences as well as income they are sending to their families. If my future in the Kingdom is to become uncertain because they wanted to stand on their own...so be it, It's their country to begin with.
Bottom line you don't like your salary or you don't like the place in wherever your are leave and don't expect that foreign country will give you a job, if your own country didn't give you a job, I see a lot of criticism for Saudi government with no common sense, this guy from Bangladesh it is simple you found your way to KSA you can find your way to somewhere else and stop complaining.

It takes a saudi for a foreigner to come to the country and work there so its their own fault . I just felt bad that some foreign workers have to suffer the consequences. The only question is if the saudians can do menial works. If they can, then that's fine.
I think anyone who simply looks at the comment and see how much hate foriegn workers have for saudi Arabia could easily see why Us Saudis are kicking them out...to be honest I don't mean to offend people who are born in my country just the ones who are here to make a quick buck and leave

Saudi Arabia is a country with a population of about 32 million people, and it's a very rich country with a lot of opportunities, yet the unemployment rate among Saudis is more than 12.8% (During the preparation of this report), this high unemployment rate is because that 12 million from the 32 million who live in Saudi Arabia are foreigners, so the jobs are there but they were taken by our brothers from these Asian countries, we truly love them but I think the time came for them to return to their own countries and leave Saudi Arabia for the Suadis. I'm Saudi and I'm against This new Saudization law or at least they need to drop the percentage Off a lil bit Instead of looking for "only Saudis" let's just say hire %50 Saudis in the specific industry
In Saudi Arabia in future if only for Saudis Indian Pakistanis etc where they will work no jobs in their own country
you know those immigrants could go back to their country and find jobs, i as a saudi cant do that i only have my country, no where else to go
