The reason on why this glitch happens is once Mario has "Captured" (possessed) an enemy, Mario's model is set to 0. By swapping back and forth between 2 enemies that are of the same type while in 2P and assist mode, you get this glitchy state where Mario is both there, while at the same time not there.

In other words, his physics object (collider + rigid/kinematic body) is disabled, but his model ends up not hidden?
The thing is, most modern game engines don't remove an object when it is invisible, but rather disable rendering for it. (e.g. "obj.visible = false" in Godot)
For instance, in Source, all weapons on a character exist simultaneously regardless of which one is active. Just all weapons except for the one active are not rendered.
That is clearly seen if bounding boxes are enabled for all objects, you will see cuboids for all weapons.

I think what happens is normally mario is turned invisible when u capture the podoboo but ur cancelling it by capturing it when mario is blinking

Podoboo is the main name, Lava Bubble is it's nickname. Super Princess Peach (and many other games) have it listed under Podoboo.
